I just need my phone to last all day with all the features. This phone does it. No need for 3 days without being able to use the features.

My battery lasts weeks if it's fully charged and leave the phone off... Not impressed by how little you use your phone in three days.

So in 3 days you barley used your phone and brag about battery whoaaaa all ypu showed is you literally have no one to talk to

nope, I'm not jealous....I can see you don't use your phone for basically nothing but facebook. seriously? not even phone calls in 3 days!!?? seriously? ahaha and you're gonna brag about that?
the most I get is a little bit less than a day and a half. i'm mostly constantly on my phone, talking, txting, web, wireless streaming (dlna) when I'm home. I mean I use my phone....not just for facebook.

screen on time... I'm pretty sure using the phone will consume more. Such as browsing, texting, and calling rather than just have this screen on time. I could probably get another 2 days if I just left my phone's brightness at min and on a black screen all day
and like the other posters said, all we see is facebook. 6 hours of facebooking? damn!

Well, he can read. You can't. So you should be a little jealous.
3 days, 6 hours screen on time. That is far from "not using your phone"... you can see a good amount of that was Facebook. He is obviously a social person. Also, that app SUCKS battery - even more impressive is the fact the device survived 3 days of standby whilst running that app and having the display on at least 2 hours a day. I would define it as pretty medium/average use. 2 hours a day on your device is pretty intense use and at the very least not anything you described as "barely using it" ...
Never seen an iPhone go 3 days on standby, with that kind of screen on time. Hell, I've honestly rarely seen any newer android devices go that long with that kind of display on time. It is slightly impressive, yes.

This is what I got after using it for watching a lot of videos on youtube, take some pictures/1080p video, listen to music and some web browsing over wifi. Not data connection and brightness in automatic ( used it indoors and outdoors )
4 hours screen time I think its pretty decent, its almost what I used to get with my galaxy note.
So very impressed with the battery, becouse I always heard that it sucked. Whats more, I already bought one 2000mA becouse of these comments. I guess I will get even better battery life then

forgot to take a screenshot but for "heavy" usage, on my first full day, i got to 50% after 3hrs and 6min of screen on time, that doesnt include about 20 min of music listening and a 10 min phone call. Almost all of the time was spent watching an episode of the office and heavy web browsing on both LTE and wifi
extremely happy.. i got 4 hrs MAX on my GS3, and thats if i used a lot of power conserving methods.. I had a lot of bloat still on and a bright screen for the note 2.. if i optimize i bet i can easily get 8 hrs of screen on per battery cycle with this bad boy..
super happy... the battery was my biggest peeve about the s3

No screenshot but yesterday I got around 17 hours until shut off. I was happy because its better than my other phones but still not as good as I would like. Interestingly enough, the main thing consuming power, even moreso than the giant screen, was the browser. I never have more than 2 or 3 windows at most open so I was surprised to see it up there as like 43 percent of battery use. Wondering if there is some glitch or something since on my s2 I could have it loaded up with open windows on the jb browser but the smaller screen was still topping the power demands
Are you guys getting this result by having POWER SAVING mode on?
I just noticed the power saving mode today, it looks like it automatically turns on once you reach a threshold.
Here's my stats. I would say there was a good 30-40 minutes of gaming in there, all sensors on (in LTE area), constant wifi use, download of about 40 total apps, and songza streaming for about an hour. Can't forget about 30 total minutes of talk time, and about 10 texts. Screen time shows 4 hours of awake time (though it HAS to be be lol, i am still in awe at how long this phone has lasted)
Its such a relief to know I can get through a day and a half with regular usage without charging (versus MAYBE 10 hours with my previous phone)
Also, Protip for screenshots for anyone trying to figure out how to do it:
1) take out stylus
2) open the screen you want to screen shot
3) hold the stylus to the screen
4) Press the little button on the side of the stylus
PROFIT!
A good way to upload your screen shot is to use the IMGUR app for android (I used this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/...251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5pbWd1cmZvcmFuZHJvaWQiXQ..)
Once you upload it, you can either copy the img/BB code to your clipboard, or just open the link and copy "by hand" to your computer (super small link)

Yep. First phone I actually can't kill the entire battery in a day. My onite brick extended battery on my nexus never lasted like this, and that's with a smaller screen. Haha. Dont worry. Gamermod will follow in time man. We are in the middle of a move, so it will be a bit. At some point I will do a heimdall partitions dump to see if I still have the preload partition to mess with. If not I may have another trick up my sleve for getting this set up the way I like. I have noticed the system partiton may not be limited on this phone... like I said, I need to do a heimdall dump before I know anything there.
I might even work on my own script similar to placebo for this phone... imagine the battery then.

Forty years ago today, Motorola engineer Martin Cooper placed the first handheld mobile phone call using cellular hardware installed in downtown New York City. He called fellow engineer and rival Joel Engel of Bell Labs, who was also working on cellular network technology.
According to Cooper, Engel was speechless at first and then courteous to his colleague who beat him in the race for the first handheld mobile call. For trivia buffs, the first mobile phone *was the Motorola Dynatac and weighed 2.5 pounds. It was a brick measuring 9-inches long, 5 inches thick and 1.75-inches wide. It had a battery life of 30 minutes and took 10 hours to fully charge.
How many of us here have had one of these things. Bricks we called them. I can say that that was the proud owner of one of these phones..
Can you say EMERGENCY calls only!!! Or your calls are no longer than 2 mins
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxgJYQL2HIc&feature=youtube_gdata_player
As he said in the video, the phone should be what we want! THE CONSUMER!!
Not what the engineers want to design!!! Excellent point Martin.

You running mission control from your note 2? Kinda hard to burn the battery that fast unless something is wrong. I can crank all 4 cores full tilt and takes my 2 hours to get low battery. Could cook an egg with it after that so not advised lol.
Go back and read the whole post and you will see what the 30 minutes and 10 hours were about. :sly: Hint: not the Note 2 battery.

Think he was just joking with that! But WOW running all four cores, kills it in a few hours. D Damn, that's quick. Lol
it'll probably also kill your phone in the process!!!

I suspect this was meant for someone else since my even earlier posts accounting and reminiscing of old phone tech older than many here. . Assuming you saw them it. If not then the joke went right over your head bro lol

Well it's easy to do. Slap on a smart hub and some unlimited multi view. The note 2 is a monster power house if you know how to flex it's muscles. It gets very power hungry though lol.

Battery Guru for snapdragons

Have any of you used this app? I think it's worth at least trying out. I've been using it now for a few days and it seems to have helped increase my battery life. A lot of times before I would get about 2.5 hrs of screen time and now I've noticed I've been getting almost 3.5 hrs...almost, but still good improvement nonetheless.
*It goes into learning mode for about 2-3 days before actually starts helping save battery.
It's free in the playstore, you guys should check it out if you didn't know about it already

Been using it for two days, after initial 2 days learning, and for me it has increased my battery life by a ridiculous amount. I work in an area with little to no service and my phone is almost always searching. I would unplugmy found around 5 am and would be at 30-40% by noon. Apon checking my phone for the past two days its been at about 75%. So I love it!!

Yeah usually I don't really believe in apps claiming to save battery now because none of them ever really worked for me. But this app is made for phones specifically using snapdragon processors and actually works, pretty damn good too.

It must have gotten better from when it first launched because it absolutely DECIMATED my battery life in the first versions! Maybe I'll try it again.
Admittedly, I'm running root66 MD5 and I'm getting the best battery life I've ever gotten without undervolting and the ROM has been extremely stable for me so I'm sticking with it for now... maybe my constant ROM flipping was messing up the app. I'll give it another shot.
I tried it for a week and it wasn't even doing anything at all...
Just get battery doctor from the market should do.

Also just so you guys know I was doing a lot of web browsing and watching a good amount of YouTube, plus playing a little iron man and plumber crack but did a reboot, which is why it doesn't come up on the battery stats.

Hmm...that's odd, works pretty well for me. Well if battery doctor helps you save more battery then keep using it. Just out of curiosity how much battery life do you get with using battery doctor?

4 hours? I've been getting 5 hours of on screen time with MD5, WiFi on all the time, playing Metropolis and Simpsons: Tapped Out...
Auto brightness on or off? I have mine turned off (the screen is plenty bright at one tick above base).
All I know is that I never came close to 5 hours until upgrading to MD5...

Battery Guru has been "learning my device" for 3 days now and it says I have 6 hours until battery savings begin. I'll let everybody know how it goes.

To be honest, I haven't noticed really any difference. I'll get some screenshots later tonight if you'd like, but overall, if there were any battery savings, they have been minimal. Notice my screen-on time in the original screenshot. I really am not a power user. I only ever have to charge my battery during the day if I've been gaming on it or if I have a rogue app chewing up battery. I usually go 12-14 hours and have 25-30% left with less than 2 hours screen-on time. I don't use task killers, however I reboot my phone daily before I pull it off the charger.
