Post Your Battery Screen Shots - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

Well we all know this Note II has a monster of a battery, but lets see exactly how long we can go. Post your battery screen shots and put it to the test.

As you can see i wasn't using the phone that much.

forgot to take a screenshot but for "heavy" usage, on my first full day, i got to 50% after 3hrs and 6min of screen on time, that doesnt include about 20 min of music listening and a 10 min phone call. Almost all of the time was spent watching an episode of the office and heavy web browsing on both LTE and wifi
extremely happy.. i got 4 hrs MAX on my GS3, and thats if i used a lot of power conserving methods.. I had a lot of bloat still on and a bright screen for the note 2.. if i optimize i bet i can easily get 8 hrs of screen on per battery cycle with this bad boy..
super happy... the battery was my biggest peeve about the s3

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda premium

No screenshot but yesterday I got around 17 hours until shut off. I was happy because its better than my other phones but still not as good as I would like. Interestingly enough, the main thing consuming power, even moreso than the giant screen, was the browser. I never have more than 2 or 3 windows at most open so I was surprised to see it up there as like 43 percent of battery use. Wondering if there is some glitch or something since on my s2 I could have it loaded up with open windows on the jb browser but the smaller screen was still topping the power demands

Are you guys getting this result by having POWER SAVING mode on?

I just noticed the power saving mode today, it looks like it automatically turns on once you reach a threshold.
Here's my stats. I would say there was a good 30-40 minutes of gaming in there, all sensors on (in LTE area), constant wifi use, download of about 40 total apps, and songza streaming for about an hour. Can't forget about 30 total minutes of talk time, and about 10 texts. Screen time shows 4 hours of awake time (though it HAS to be be lol, i am still in awe at how long this phone has lasted)
Its such a relief to know I can get through a day and a half with regular usage without charging (versus MAYBE 10 hours with my previous phone)
Also, Protip for screenshots for anyone trying to figure out how to do it:
1) take out stylus
2) open the screen you want to screen shot
3) hold the stylus to the screen
4) Press the little button on the side of the stylus
PROFIT!
A good way to upload your screen shot is to use the IMGUR app for android (I used this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/...251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5pbWd1cmZvcmFuZHJvaWQiXQ..)
Once you upload it, you can either copy the img/BB code to your clipboard, or just open the link and copy "by hand" to your computer (super small link)

Sent from my SGH-I317M using XDA Premium App

Not to bad almost 35 hours since first charge and 5 1/2 hrs of screen time...still 12 percent left. I am impressed!

Finally an android battery that lasts if you forgot to charge at night

Hey guys, I have a question...its kinda off-topic and...dumb. The GSM version is the "normal" Nexus or the 4G LTE Nexus?
Sent from my E15i using XDA App
3hrs 30min of screen on time, and your phone was awake like 90% of the battery cycle. That's pretty much normal...
You were actively heavily using your phone for hours at a time. What the hell did you expect?
I have no complaints. On this charge I did a bunch of reading with Aldiko, playing with Maps and Earth, and some Flick Golf and a bunch of text messages. I don't think I had a single phone call. Screen on time was just over 3 hours. At this rate I could get an entire 24 hours on a single charge.

Mine's the best I've had on an Android phone, my Optimus 3D used to last around 8 hours, my desire around 10, my G1 around 18 (this shows how I use it and what I have running).
The GN lasts around 24 hours, in fact, since I got it around 3 weeks ago I've only been in the red twice.
I went out for my sons 2nd birthday 2 weeks ago, from 10AM until 3PM I was filming a LOT (including using the light when indoors) as well as taking photos. by 4PM it was still at 50%
and I'm loving how quick it charges!
Also, takes me around 1-1.5 hours to full charge...but I am not using the bundled adapter though...
The battery is definitely way way way better than the Optimus 3D.

Are you just turning your screen timeout to infinite, turning the phone on, and letting it sit to see how long it goes?
Wow, that's pretty good. You could theoretically get ~6 hours screen time with the entire battery which was unheard of prior to 4.0.4. I believe it was generally accepted that approximately 4 hour screen time is usually the max.

THAT is the actual battery improvement, the phone itself uses like next to none to run now, only the screen draining. I went from around 25% Android OS to like 3-4% (as well as other core apps went down).
I use my phone extensively (although no games), and my screen % is like 75-80% (at 95% of the time being minimum brightness [5])

Android OS used 3-4% before the update as well. The ~25% was a bug in AOSP 4.0.2 and 4.0.3. It just showed high use, but wasn't actually draining that much.

I'd think that a lot of this power savings comes from not using the LTE modem and just using CDMA. But I'm probably wrong. Makes me wish the 4.0.4 update would arrive here.

I'm seeing modest improvements:
autobrightness, 2h music, 4h 3g data, rest of wifi, stock kernel, interactive 350-1200
This is pretty good for stock kernel compared to 4.0.2 . It's slightly better than what I usually get with imo's kernel on 4.0.2

JuiceDefender Alternative

So I've been using Juice Defender for the past year or two now, and though there have been reviews somewhat negative or that it's only a placebo effect or something, it has helped my battery life extensively. There are times where I might accidentally disable it and forget to enable it, and my battery life gets worse enough that I notice almost right way and Juice Defender usually helps with that.
The feature I use the most is making sure that Data and Wifi and stuff are turned off when my phone is locked, but with a few exceptions for some applications like Pandora. Just looking for another application that can do something similar, and yeah, there's other things too, such as turning off the WiFi when there it can't connect after a certain interval, and not turning on both Data and Wifi when there's WiFi, for example.
Just looking for another battery application that does the same. Juice Defender has some small bugs on my phone such as messing with the bluetooth and they haven't upgraded their application in like two years now, so yeah, I'm just looking for a more updated application.

I have to say the first app is not as customisable as the second, but it's pretty smooth, effective, has a more logical interface and I've never experienced an issue with it. Only problem here is the 2 day waiting period lol. I'm a flashaholic and its driving me mad lol.......5 hours remaining until learning mode completes. Really hope its worth it ?
I'm a firm believer in giving a ROM/kernel sufficient time before complaining about battery life ( thats why i never complain about battery) so I guess this is giving me that sufficient time to let my phone settle at least.

Using a combination of 2X Battery Saver, and Snapdragon Battery Guru. Works wonders.

I am currently using Battery Guru as well by Qualcomm, but I had a quick question. Like slymobi, I like to flash the latest update for whichever ROM I am using at the time. I have about 13 hours left until baterry guru is done learning. My question is, if I do a titanium backup of everything including battery guru and then after installing new rom restore the app with data would I need to redo the learning process or can I just let it run based on the original learning process? Hope this question makes sense.
Thanks!

Battery Guru for snapdragons

Have any of you used this app? I think it's worth at least trying out. I've been using it now for a few days and it seems to have helped increase my battery life. A lot of times before I would get about 2.5 hrs of screen time and now I've noticed I've been getting almost 3.5 hrs...almost, but still good improvement nonetheless.
*It goes into learning mode for about 2-3 days before actually starts helping save battery.
It's free in the playstore, you guys should check it out if you didn't know about it already

Been using it for two days, after initial 2 days learning, and for me it has increased my battery life by a ridiculous amount. I work in an area with little to no service and my phone is almost always searching. I would unplugmy found around 5 am and would be at 30-40% by noon. Apon checking my phone for the past two days its been at about 75%. So I love it!!
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Yeah usually I don't really believe in apps claiming to save battery now because none of them ever really worked for me. But this app is made for phones specifically using snapdragon processors and actually works, pretty damn good too.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
It must have gotten better from when it first launched because it absolutely DECIMATED my battery life in the first versions! Maybe I'll try it again.
Admittedly, I'm running root66 MD5 and I'm getting the best battery life I've ever gotten without undervolting and the ROM has been extremely stable for me so I'm sticking with it for now... maybe my constant ROM flipping was messing up the app. I'll give it another shot.
I tried it for a week and it wasn't even doing anything at all...

To be honest, I haven't noticed really any difference. I'll get some screenshots later tonight if you'd like, but overall, if there were any battery savings, they have been minimal. Notice my screen-on time in the original screenshot. I really am not a power user. I only ever have to charge my battery during the day if I've been gaming on it or if I have a rogue app chewing up battery. I usually go 12-14 hours and have 25-30% left with less than 2 hours screen-on time. I don't use task killers, however I reboot my phone daily before I pull it off the charger.

Turn bluetooth off of course. Disable factory apps. Turn on power saving mode. The performance difference is non existent, and it disables a few things that drain the battery. Turn WiFi off when not at home/a place with WiFi, I've been doing this to get better battery life since I've had my HTC HD2. Do this stuff, be smart with screen brightness, and the battery life will be really good. Best I've gotten was 1 day and 4 hours on my battery.

I have tried so much. This phone is seriously horrible. 2.5 hours of screen on time.

Lasts 7 hours. With medium use.

I'm thinking about calling att and trying to get a replacement to see if that would help. When I first got the phone I was getting pretty decent battery life. But now its just awful. I barely have any apps installed and have the same ones installed on my 6s plus and I can get two days out of it.
But other than battery I have no complaints with this phone.

I get incredible battery life on my AT&T Note 5. While you certainly may have a bad battery in your phone, I'd still be more suspicious of an app causing problems. The same app installed on different phones can still have different results. The "Held Awake" entry in your screenshot (post# 13) at 2hr+ seems that it might be high considering how long the battery lasts for you.
You should investigate your App Usage entry to see if you see anything abnormal.
Cool. What is that under?

Me too.
Is there a way to change kernel version?

It's two lines below the "Held Awake" entry in GSAM. Click the greater than arrow on its row.

Not possible as things currently stand due to AT&T using a locked bootloader.
Read somewhere that ipv6 causes a big drain on some devices, gonna try to redo APN with ipv4 only as default is ipv4/ipv6... Wonder if it'd make any difference?
