[Q] ICS and GB ROM with sense UI ? - Wildfire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Recently i found this on XDA, I request all the Devs to have a look at this. Will this help in creating and porting new Roms to our device more easily? It said sense UI can also be tweaked, so is there any chance we can get Gingerbread or ICS with sense UI using this tool ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1619473
Thanks,
Arun

I don't think the problem lies in de/recompiling the .apks, the problem comes with not knowing what to change/edit.
This tool will help anybody with the actual editing of the .apks but its like looking for a needle in a haystack trying to find the right pieces to edit.

[Q] Making ROM Questions

I have been trying to copy some of the features of the original HTC Froyo rom to a new Gingerbread rom (DevNull) using Android Kitchen running in a Cwgwin box. While I can swap some apk's in and out, other apk's like contacts and dialler will only work in their correct version. Is there a way around this ? or is it a fundamental impasse? Any pointers to where I can read up on this stuff gratefully received.
No, they use totally different frameworks. If it was easy let attitude even possible at all, don't you think some of the "real" devs would have done it already?

Theme modification

As you all know, we recently got the RCMix3D ROM from capychimp. The revolution theme is my favorite theme for that ROM, but with the newest tweaks added, the theme replaces the settings.apk thus taking away some of the newer tweaks. Also since the theme is for the DHD originally, it is not compatible with the dinc2's soft keys. If someone could tell me what file I need to modify for the softkeys to work, and if I can do it without downloading software since the only computer I have access to, I don't have administrative rights cuz the security prefs are set so high. Someone please show/tell me how to do this. and sorry, I know I ask a ton of questions here lol. I'm still a newb at Modding my ROMs and stuff.

services.jar is what affects the soft keys, remove that (dont know what its doing/controlling it that theme, not much theme wise would be in there unless the theme brings crt animation in)

Indeed. You would have to "port" it over to the specific ROM.
Yeah. I mean, I've uploaded the theme to my dropbox for a themer I've been testing for, I was gonna see if he wanted to use it and swap some images to make it work real good. But, if at all possible I'd like to keep this theme and have all the tweaks too.

[Q] ICS with Sense

The ICS rom from Sanvold runs verry good on my phone but im missing certan elements from sense. Calander/stopwach that handy round thingy u use when setting the alarm/dialer/integration with facebook, wel its has many handy features.
Is there any way sense elements can be port to ICS? if not: why is that a problem, if so: is someone working on it?
If you have a look in development, there is a thread about ice sense. Coolexe and other developer are trying to get it working... To port some parts of sense to not sense Rom is difficult because many thinks depend on framework etc... These need to be implemented first, hopefully I'm right...

U mean: [ROM][Cool Sense][14 Jan]Cool IceCream Sense v1|2.3.4|FASTEST|Data++/Stock ?
I mean no disrespect but i like to see/(meant) a sense rom based on android 4.0 instead of a themed 2.3.4 version.

[Q] changing recent apps' style to ics recent apps' style

Hi guys
I'm wondering if there's a posibility of changing htc one x's recent apps' style to ICS recent apps' style? because the Ics's is more practically and doesn't drain the battery.
another thing is , do you know how to make the sense allow me to add more than seven panels or homescreens? because I need to put a lotta widgets there and 7 isn't enough for me and I don't wanna use other launchers because if I did I lose sense widgets.
thanks

I think it's custom the rom name is:
Leedroid
sorry I'm not into developing that much can you tell me what does stock mean?
please help .
I have the same question for a different ROM, this what I posted on another more general Revolution HD thread,.
"I'm running Android Revolution HD 7.0.0 with franco r10 kernel and have 'no-sense'd it using ROM cleaner.
Is there a way to change the look and feel of the recent apps UI to be like the stock ICS one that you get on the cm9 ROMs? That is, a vertical scrolling 2D list rather than the 3D card shuffling you get by default on the One X.
Searching the forums here and the rest of the net I think I've got as far as working out it's in SystemUI.apk, but I've no idea if that is interchangeable between ROMs; I doubt it is.
I realise this is a very minor annoyance, but any help would be greatly appreciated!"

Hey! someone should know it guys, how can we do it?

[Q] Another which ROM thread :]

Hey all. Just wondering which is the most customiseable [if thats a word] rom. I have a one x and am using a venom rom and love the fact that its easy to customise everything. Which rom or roms are like that for the desire? Thank you kindly one and all.
Define customisable
Sent from my Nexus 10 using XDA Premium HD app
I can change how my phone looks. Like all the icons, themes and loads of other superficial things. I guess you can do that with all roms but with the venom Rom its all grouped together in one place, so you can tweak it all easily.
You can not-so-easily customise a rom by changing framework things, or by changing the launcher.
Many roms have the option to install custom icon sets, like mildwild roms.
It's just a matter of trying roms and finding the one you like.
Mildwire was the next one I was gonna try funnily enough, tis downloaded and ready 2 flash. Thank you kindly.
I used Mildwild for months, working good and roms based on cyanogenmod seem quite "customizable"
