Replacing Front Screen on GN2 - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Ok so here's the situation. I cracked my screen today on the front of my device because I did not have a case, Yes I know I'm stupid for not having one. The cracks are medium to bad and are extremely distracting from the device. I have sprint's bull**** insurance, but they want 200 dollars for a replacement device which I think is crap. Could one of you please point me to a place where I can just replace the front glass on my own.
Thanks!

So giving you a $700 device for $200 cuz you're clumsy is BS? Its gonna cost you $200+ to replace the screen as the glass is fused to the digitizer and lcd as one assembly.

When they are charging me over 200 dollars a year yes it is! I've been looking around but from what people have been saying this is one of the hardest devices to replace so looks like I'm out of luck on replacing it myself

Yikes, post some pictures if you're successful! (Or unsuccessful, I'm sure some knowledge would help everyone here.)
I know from multiple experiences, screen replacement is not my forte! Fudged 2, fixed one. Meh.

Paying the deductible through Asurion may be the cheapest route. Asurion is going to replace it with a brand new Note, not a recon so it may be worth it.

I think he meant he didnt find anything on ebay
OP, right now its going to be difficult to find the replacement..sorry to hear about it
Yeah no other manufacturer is making screens yet, Ebay is the only option. Nothing wrong with Ebay I just like having feedback for products I buy. Plus it's 200 on Ebay lol

Kind of ressing a dead post, but found this. at 182 dollars, cheapest I can find out on the market right now... recently my phone has suffered a glass shattering as well....
i found an ebayer selling at 250, but became unlisted after a few days (prob sold out right now) and a few other stores selling for 250.
It's going to be hard to find a screen cheap. The screens alone are between 225-250 thats not including if you're paying somebody for the labor. Quite honestly you're better off buying one second hand. Due to the nature of the screen glass and digitizer being married together to create the slim feel it also brings more expense in replacement...and get the insurance next time...its only 25 cents a day.

reason why I dont get insurance is cause there's an extra deductible. of at least 110-130. On top of that, they' might send you a refurbished one, not actually just repairing your phone. And that one may come with more problems than its worth. I definitely don't think insurance is worth it.
You'll end up paying 250 to replace the screen through a 3rd party repair shop, 180 if you do it yourself, or 280 (130 deductible plus 150 insurance cost over 20 months) over the life of the phone to repair a broken screen. If you go the insurance route, you'll pay 150ish regardless if you break your screen or not.
$162 at Samsung
It is $162 directly through Samsung. That covers 2nd day air both ways and the repair. Six day turn around and real time repair tracking. It is truly the only way to do it.
They expedite it since it is such a new device really I don't see how you could choose any other way!

Holy crap, this stuff is expensive!
Makes me think more about buying the accidental square trade. I think it's $125 for 2 years. Covering accidental damages.

square trade has a 50 dollar deductible. And I believe the fine print says you can file a claim only once every 2 years. If you file a claim in the first year, you'll have to buy new coverage.
Essentially, insurance is a company that is trying to make money, so I don't see how it is a good investment. But if you do go for square trade, google 30% off or 20% off coupons. They send them out fairly frequent.

Are they selling the white screens? May pick one up along with the white battery cover if the price is right

So, I broke my Kindle...

I was soldering a wire onto the motherboard and then I accidentally burned my finger(That's what I get for working on it when I should have been sleeping). The motherboard went tumbling to the floor. Instead of just hitting the floor it decides to hit the leg of my table(it has a foot on the leg) and it cracked a little piece to the right of the battery plugin. Needless to say my motherboard is kaput. Also needless to say i'm kinda upset and I am in need of a new motherboard. I'm searching for a cheap broken Fire on eBay, but while i'm looking I figured i'd ask if anyone has a spare motherboard or a broken Fire that they'd be willing to sell to me for a reasonable price(Or you can donate it if you really want lulz).
Also, if anyone is interested I can mark off the piece that got cracked on ifixit's pic of the motherboard and explain what happened after it broke in more detail.
Try This
Try this link. Not a bad price for what you get
Thanks for listening.

Thanks, but I can get a broken Fire on eBay for $50 or $60 and take the motherboard out of that, and then i'll also have the rest to sell as parts, so my cost in the end will prob be around $20 or so, or even less if i'm lucky.
Plus, the deal is expired already lol.

I found a used kindle fire for 130 on craigslist. If you are in a big city, I would just keep my eye there.
You might spot something on ebay as well, I see buy it now for as low as 140.

The $90 one is a good deal, but I bought mine broken offa ebay for $60, so that's what i'm looking for.
Thanks for the support guys. Just got one on eBay for $47

The GT-N8000 series are not glued....... but I have not seen any videos or articles on a tear down of the 2014 edition yet.
Unless you are a calm, precise person that can follow directions and have repaired or tinkered with small expensive electronics I would advise against it.
You maybe better off selling it on Ebay and getting a used one...... right now there is a 32gb G-Note 2014 with an active bid of $274.99 and 4 days left of bidding on Ebay.
So say you put yours up for auction and get $275 plus, a used G-Note 2014 on Ebay (with patients) can be obtained for $425 or so.
Something to think about.........

Thanks buddy, i will take the risk if the digitizer its atached not glued to the lcd, i was wondering if the p600 comes as its predecesor not glued, i had been repairing so many devices, ipod touch, galaxy s2, iphone , galaxy ace, ipad 1(this was my major job, i replace whole the case and screen, i had to change the mainboard and all its componets to a new shell, but the screen was not glued), 2, 3 and others i start a small workshop two years ago(now closed because i finish my engeneering and start to work)...
so im just waiting to know if they comes glued or not, i dont teardow my p600 because it is working, cracked but fuly functional, and if i disassembly it im pretty sure that it will stop working :3.
sorry about my english it is not my first or second lenguage, about selling it, im in mexico the international shipping its so expensive, even more from here to usa, and here we dont have a used price as low as 400usd for a note 2014... so the option is change the digitizer or the whole part then sell it or keep it (i preffer to keep it)
ill be waiting if someone knows if its glued
I have the same issue. I have a crack on the front glass, though the digitizer and lcd is intact. Infact, im typing this post on my P600. All i need to know is that if the glass and lcd is not glued together
Sent from my SM-P600 using Tapatalk
LCD and digitizer are glued
Due to a recent breakage of my digitizer and the repair shop breaking the LCD during the repair. I can attest that the digitizer panel is indeed glued to the LCD. The assembly costs ~$225 US with the digitizer alone costing ~$60 US. I have not been able to find the LCD panel alone, only as an assembly with the digitizer glued already.

Anyone Need S3 (non-lte T999) for parts

I bought an S3 to repair, but got an S4 instead. I messed up replacing the glass, so the digitizer doesn't work. The LCD works fine, and the rest of the device works well, but is heavily scarred. If someone is looking for a mainboard or something, PM me. I'd rather sell or possibly donate to someone on this community than give money to fleabay.
I have the phone (white), two batteries that have good charge still, and blue replacement glass. I may be willing to separate pieces, including parting out the phone.

Thanks!
How much would you sell me a battery, mine is horrible can't even stay on for more than 3hrs and I also need the headphone jack piece, on mine I can only hear through one side

screen replacement

Can anyone guide me from where i should replace my s9 screen which got cracked accidentally.. or how much its gonna cost me in india..
I did try in service center where they told me around 16000 rs... So should I replace the screen or should I leave it or buy a new phone... Any suggestions will be very helpful...
If you don't mind a bit of work you can replace just the glass fairly cheaply provided you're careful not to damage the display:
https://youtu.be/67TvQWQs-48
The entire display assembly costs ten times as much as just the glass (as much as the phone itself) so you really need to be careful.
Years ago I ordered front & back glass to repair a Nexus 5 but failed dismally when I cracked the display while prying the brown glass off.
Watch the video & see what you think, if you can sell it a new phone might be easier, good luck!

probably not worth it unless you know someone who can give you a deal. maybe look at some mid-ship phones as a replacement as the cost to repair is going to be prohibitive.
