I have at&t here at home and I'm wondering, if I was shopping in china, what band is At&t so if I see a phone htere i like I can bring it home and use it.
Thanks!
Also my at&t atrix is unlocked, do you think it will work in china with a local SIM?
Thanks!

Dear friend, the unlocked versions of AT&T, Verizon, Orange and T-Mobile are all available for purchase in China but not so legally though, [yet overpriced for the risk the people take].
That being said, I hope what you have in hand should definitely be able to work in China.
If you are going for just a visit, you may not be able to find any blackmarket dealers unless you or any of your friends are good in speaking Chinese.
I you want to buy something legally from china then you have to pay extra money compared to the US,Canada or Europe.
For eg; if something costs around 700$ in US, you would have to spend around 900$ if you buy it from china. This applies to almost all smartphones and tablets from most popular brands except may be huawei, zte and oppo.
Beware, Chinese are good in KIRFs so be careful when you purchase things.
I suggest you buy smartphones and tablets from your home country, that way you could avail warranty.
If you are looking for non branded phones for use around < 1 year, then go for any Chinese local brand.
I know I wouldn't do that.
Decide for yourself, still having doubts, feel free to ask.
first of all, att's unlocked phones WILL work in china.
secondly,
most of the phone sold in chinawill work on att's and t-mobile's network.
just dont buy the China Mobile's G3 phones it won't work in USA.
i recommend buying the xiaomi2, or the meizu mx2.

The world has become smaller, company's greedier and the choice to buy the product you want controlled buy a few greedy tel-cos.
Forgive my rant, But I find it unacceptable that a tel-co company in Germany has sole rights to sell the 16 GB Omnia 7.
Then you have the focus that is only available in the USA.[ I would grab one now if only it was available outside the USA]
What does a person need to do to get his hands on a WP7 he likes.
I am assuming Samsung is to blame for this as they are the company that has stitched up the deals with the tel-cos. [At what cost Samsung I am not the only one looking for a 16 GB Omnia 7.]
Looks like it,s back to waiting for me. no smartphone till next year.

Buy the Focus unlocked then?
yeah it was Samsung's choice to make the phone available to whoever they want.
if you want to get a phone you like switch carriers.
Just give it time and surely all models will become available in stores, with no carrier lock.
either that as the manufacters see them as profitable they'll release more and more different ones. it will be like what happened with the galaxy S, just a few variations and a release on a different carrier.

Easy for those that are in USA but what about the rest of the world?
I am living in Thailand at the moment and feel the manufactures have missed the huge phone market here with no mention of WP7 at all. The average Thai will purchase a new phone every 4 months from what I have seen.
Out of the 40+ in the office I am the only one with a phone older then 8 months.

I am sorry but how is that even possible when one is in Germany the Other in the USA and I live in Asia.
I can understand the carries having it tied up in there respective countries but to not have these phones available in other continents is plain stupid.
Cant you buy an unlocked one online and use it on your carrier then? Or can you not do that in thailand for some reason?
So after almos 2 years im looking to change my htc incredible, because it feels old and slow compared with recent phones, and my carrier is offering both CMDA and GSM (i feel more comfortable with gsm) and i've always been a fan of qwerty phones, and seeing that HTC isnt going to release an android qwerty phone anytime soon, i checked the specs of the captivate glide and realise that its is really impressive better than the droid 3, cheaper than the droid 4.
im almost convinced to buy it, but before that i would like to clarify two things, one i really would like advice from regular and power users here at xda pros and cons, if it is worth it, or if should i save some extra money to buy the droid 4 (hate motoblur and there's no networks offering LTE on my country.) and the other thing is if anyone knows a reliable place where i can buy it online im from mexico, i have no problems with an glide with the at&t brand, but i've also read that the "rogers" glide doesnt have any brand. but i really dont know where to buy it.
i checked this site (www.negrielectronics.com)and they have it listed but i dont know if its realiable.
any help would be apreciated.
There's one for sale in the Marketplace here on XDA, I believe. You could start there. I upgraded from a T-Mobile G2 and haven't looked back since. The more we get out there, the better. CarpeNoctem has put out a great little ROM for it (OsiMood) and that paired with the Cranium Kernel and Go Launcher has really got me going! I can't make an honest recommendation comparing to Droids, as my only experience with them has been futzing with one of my client's original Droid and his new Droid3, haven't really gotten any regular use time with them...
One further thing, I would check which CDMA and GSM bands your carrier is offering, I believe if I recall correctly that the i927 does not support T-Mobile's 3G band, so you'd be stuck with EDGE for 3G, which is significantly slower...
Good luck, and I hope you love your new phone as much as I love mine
L4T
I think its better than Droid 3..
Haven't tried Droid 4..
If facebranding is not a problem, you can go for at&t model as you can get it cheaper than Rogers..
One of my friend had got a phone through Negri electronics.. So far it is the only site I have come across which ships to almost all the countries..
Also try Ebay.. I got mine for 400$ in an auction.. + additional shipping, duty and unlocking charges..

Sorry, meant to say something about this in my above post - Negri spams the hell out of Craigslist, at least local to me, I wouldn't buy from them for just this reason. If you can't find one here on the XDA Marketplace, I recommend Swappa or Amazon (though you'd probably end up paying more at either of those)

thanx for the answers, yeah i said negri becasue its ships everywhere but i trust more on amazon but the thing with amazon its that they dont ship electronics oustide the US (or at least cellphones).
Regarding the bands used by my carrier, AFAIK all carriers in mexico use 850 for GSM and hdspa+ with the exception of one that besides 850 they also use 1900 and if remember correctly both frequencies are available on the glide.
and i would like to know how does the phone feels, average battery life, etc, im really interested in buying one..

The phone feels great in my hands, just the perfect size and I have a SGS II which feels too big in comparison, it is comfortable with the keyboard slides out as well. The battery life is the best I've encountered of any android phone so far.
Any other suggestion?
I tried:
negrielectronics.com (unlocked, out of stock for now)
mobicity (unlocked, out of stock for now)
canadagsm.com (unlocked)
amazon (locked)
ebay (locked and unlocked, but a bit expensive)
Can somebody provide any other supplier selling this phone? Already unlocked phones would be a very appreciated plus..
Thanks

So, have you been checking the aforementioned websites all this time?
Negrielectronics wrote me that they can't estimate the backorder time and they invited me to check their website daily. does it mean that the backorder waiting time has been going on for (at least) one month?
Thats right, ive been checking negri almost every day for about a month and they havent re stock it. To bad cuz i really would like yo buy a captivate glide.

Too bad.
Just to add: rogers.com sells this phone, by the name of Samsung Galaxy S Glide.
Still need to be unlocked, but rogers.com should be more trustworthy than canadagsm.
I also wrote an email to canadagsm, just to ask a couple of questions. Waiting
Update:
canadagsm.ca deals only with unlocked phones. That's great.
Still i don't know if it is a trustworthy supplier or not. Their prices are beaten only by negrielectronics, so they're quite good.
But i don't know if I can trust them. Anyway, they accept Paypal.
I bought mine unlocked from Amazon Wireless, it's being forwarded from the US to the United Arab Emirates with ShopandShip.com.
Well, I ended up buying it on Amazon.
Hope everything will go fine.
I'll give you updates.

I'm from Italy.
I'll have it shipped to an import/export company that is located in Florida. They'll ship it to me.
Their name is consegnato.com and they offer the service for Italy (shipping and enregistering under europen laws).
Well I got the phone, really liking the build quality and performance, which is no different to a Galaxy S II
Now the challenging part, it's asking for a network code. I bought this unlocked and was not expecting this. I've contacted Amazon Wireless, lets see what they say.
I've had the same problems as you guys, www.negrielectronics.com, it's in fact a reliable site, but they are, like you said before, out of stock, www.canadagsm.com, in fact, have the Galaxy S Glide, Unlocked, tried to order, but have some problems, because, like sbiricuda, I've send my phones to a Courrier in Florida, that send the package to Chile, from where my partner picks it up, and bring it to Argentina for me. And, the guys over www.canadagsm.com, told me that they only send to the same address of your PayPal account, so, I just couldn't close the deal.
Ended up buying it to cellularworld2008 on www.ebay.ca.
Amazon Wireless rep. replied, they said I can return the phone for a full refund or call AT&T to get the unlock code. Looks like I'll have to unlock it myself!
Amazon Wireless has now changed "Unlocked" to "Upgrade" when you buy that phone full price.
*sigh*
I bought a Locked phone, so I was aware that I have to unlock it after reception when I did it.
I know that it is annoying but I suggest to get an unlock code from americanunlocker or cellunlocker. It looks cheaper than sending the phone back or calling AT&T from your country. If you do, please share your experience with them!
I'm going to be in the US early Jan, and was looking at buying the GT-7105 LTE Note 2 from there, SIM Free.
But, I need to know for sure that if I do that, then it'll work with a 4G SIM from EE in the UK. EE currently is offering SIM only 12 month deals.
If someone can confirm this, then it'll be a great help.
If it's actually an N7105, and not a US carrier-branded model, it'll be fine, but I can't imagine you could get one cheaper than in the UK - the N7105 isn't sold at US retail (T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint & friends all have their own variants that would not suit your needs, and in the case of the latter two, would not work at all).

Hmm, that's what I was worrying about.
In the past, I've generally managed to get electronic items much cheaper in the US, and I keep travelling there.
But, I guess in this case, there's too much grey, and I might end up with a costly device that may not work in the UK ..
I want to get my hands on the Note II LTE (7105) but it's priced ridiculous here in the UK, and so are the EE plans ..
So, I was thinking of buying the phone SIM free, and then taking the 12 month SIM only from EE
the N7105 was on a special discount with EE this weekend, so no doubt it will be again.
The Note2 has fallen surprisingly quickly from its introductory price. I think the Note1 was an unexpected success so Samsung didn't make large numbers of them so supply wasn't so strong, but they had more confidence in the Note2 being popular and there's more stock and more competition in the marketplace.

Damn, missed that offer. What was the discounted offer from EE?
The 7105 was (evidently) sold at 20% discount for a couple of days before xmas along with all payg phones at EE stores at £409 originally £509 BUT... its sketchy info & the majority of stores said they didn't have it on offer.
The 7105 has the UK LTE bands & although is not a USA phone theres no probs buying it in USA for UK use, also its available online at £445 +post from Negrielectronics (a company based in USA) & they post to UK.
There's also currently a ebay seller in USA selling 7105 & posts to UK.
Not sure if the saving is worth the risk of not getting service of a "grey" import though if it developed a fault.
I found the link for nergri ...
http://negrielectronics.com/samsung...-16gb-unlocked-marble-white.html#.UOKxPP4YZaF
I bought the N7105 from ee on pay then gave the sim to a friend and unlocked the phone to use with three so no reason you couldn't buy on payg and give sim away and get sim only contract.
I've found three speeds are pretty similar to ee in 4G areas so prefer the better bundles of data they offer.

Anyone know? Or maybe some legit seller (besides eBay) that would ship here to USA. Also on a side note, does anyone know if LTE would work on the TMobile network?
Any input is greatly appreciated.

There is a list of sellers at the beginning of this forum. All of them are from China and all ship globally. Ebay is the worst possibility right now - resellers there are taking a great advantage of a limited buying opportunity for this phone.
Check about import duties with your customs before buying. The USA imposes import taxes on China merchandise lately and I don't know if the technical stuff is involved.
Or better, if you're not in hurry, wait a couple of weeks. The price might drop and you may have a chance to buy the phone from Amazon or at least from a reseller in Europe.
As regard T-Mobile, yes, the phone will work with this operator. On HDSPA bands and on LTE bands 2, 4 and 12. It won't work on new bands 66 and 71 but it is the same with other phones except for some iPhone, Samsung, LG, and Motorola models. But then, I think that LTE 12 is mostly in use everywhere. You won't have special services like VoLTE, VoWiFi though. The operator requests certification fee for those services and it can't be expected that Chinese pay it. The phone is not intended for the USA market and besides Huawei is kinda blacklisted there.

It has been quite some time since this inquiry, my friend. The situation has changed a lot since then, the USA and China are in the trade war and hence Chinese removed plenty of Huawei facilities from the USA and therefore you can't find any Mate X support there anymore. You can still buy the Mate X in the USA from various vendors from around the world but without any warranty.
My personal recommendation is to buy it from Amazon, for example: https://www.amazon.com/Huawei-EVR-L...116&s=gateway&sprefix=mate+20x,aps,228&sr=8-4.
The dilemma is though what to buy: the Chinese model or the international model (link). Although the international model has problems with occasional random reboots right now on 9.1, the problem will be sorted out eventually and you have fully Google support integrated even with Android Q (EMUI10), which is about to come. The Chinese model has no flaws and upgrades are regularly but then it is heavy bloated and Chinese oriented without native Google apps. There is workaround though with root and transformation rom but as it looks support ends with 9.1 beta.
Both models support Tmobile LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 12.
Why Amazon: It's a US vendor, and there are not many others there right now. As you don't get Huawei warranty in the USA you still have Amazon's guaranty for the enough time to check phone functionality and there are not many chances that you find hidden malfunction later.
Thanks so much. The Chinese version is so much cheaper, I'm looking to get that to use on T-mobile.

You are wrong, the EVR-AL00 has all the support beyond 9.1 beta and receives official updates before the global version of the phone. The current problem is that with non beta release of 9.1 came the new EROFS file system (see here) that prevents any updates to custom roms, which has lead to many devs leaving this amazing phone and that at the moment you can't get codes to unlock bootloader in order to gain root.
That's what I said. The Chinese model is updated more regulary and works flawlessly as 9.1. But after beta 9.1 there is no internationalization any more and original system is heavy Chinese oriented.
Anyway, if someone is looking for Chinese Mate x I think that Aliexppress has good prices right now.

You see I'm researching the 20X and some say that it does have volte functionality when being used on Tmobile USA and some like yourself say it doesn't.
However i'm aware the Mate 20 and Mate 20 pro doesn't have volte functionality on the tmobile network. But does the 20X?

I love my EVRL29 version...this is by far the best phone I have used hands down.
I purchased mine from Amazon.com and have the protection of Amazon. I purchased the AL00 first as I had the EVRL29 previously (6 months ago but sold it to get the P30Pro) but I ended up missing my Mate 20X so much I had to sell my P30Pro and get back to my Mate 20X. The AL00 was easy to remove the bloat etc but I couldn’t get all Google to work including some of the Google back ups. I couldn’t get Google Pay to work but actually activating the Google apps was very easy. I had to return the AL00 though as I just didn’t want a fantastic phone that only half worked...maybe not half but you get the picture. I reordered from the Amazon.com dealer and the phone was shipped the following day Thursday and I had it in my hands Friday afternoon. The pick up time was Thurs at 3pm and delivered the next day by noon, from Hong Kong to Victoria, B.C literally overnight. Anyways I also have received 4 updates since I got the phone and I would 100% get the EVRL29 model as everything works including Google Pay, back ups, everything...I love this phone!
I'm very seriously considering buying an HD1905 on the US OnePlus site, they've got a decent discount as the 8 is about to launch, and I can grab genuine accessories at the same time. Shame the AUD is so crap right now, but that can't be helped.
I'm interested to know if there are OP7T Australian owners out there, what model variant, what carriers you're on, and if there are any issues with reception.
I'm on Telstra so I'm especially interested to hear from other Telstra users.
I've looked at the various bands in the specs, compared it to the OzTowers guide (that I luckily managed to grab before it shut down), and also looked at frequencycheck.com
My preference is to buy it from OnePlus US. While there are a bunch of "local websites" that purport to sell re-flashed HD1900 units as "Global HD1903", I would much rather get an untouched phone out of the box. The US HD1905 seems to have the broadest international carrier band support from what I can divine from reading.
One of the "local websites" says to email them any questions. So I did and the answers were basically "dunno, ask the carrier" which is pointless since OnePlus have no presence in Australia.
Despite having many Samsung Galaxies over the years I've decided not to consider them. Our Huawei P20 Pro has been good but tech support is hopeless, and no bootloader unlock service anymore, that alone rules them out for me.
So the OnePlus 7T is my preferred choice ... looking forward to hearing from any Aussie users out there.
My friend wanted the 'best phone for the money' and bought this phone on my advice. They ship them from China, but it arrived the next day! They happened to have one in stock in Auckland.
My friend was thrilled but when a truck ran over it (after 3 weeks), not so.
So she's around the next morning and buys another one (~NZ$860). This time it took about a month to arrive as THE VIRUS slowed everything to a trickle.
We have a great website in NZ pricespy.co.nz and you'll have something like that in Oz.
Buying from the US is fraught. Postage costs an arm and a leg.

Thanks for the feedback, I've actually just bought a Galaxy S20 from JB as they had a decent discount for a newly released phone. The deciding factors against the OnePlus on this occasion was the total lack of Australian support, lack of IP68, the many negative service/warranty related user reviews on different sites selling them, and the idea that I'd be facing massive turnaround to ship it back to the US for warranty.
Shipping from the US isn't a problem for me as I regularly send consolidated packages through a 3rd party shipper.
Plus in these uncertain times we're making an effort to support the local outlets.
