My i747 does the same, I've tried several time with stock kernel, Ziggy kernel and kt747 kernel but I Berber got passed the logo. I tried both, cwm and twrp latest recovery. It is the only ROM not booting on my phone so I'm not sure what's up with that.

Noob problem
Every time I try to flahs a new rom i get errors.
in wipe and install its getting (E:Unable to mount '/efs')
Now i switched from CWM recovery to TWRP for the reason that their latest update gave me to much trouble and ive been flashing roms on my sgs2 since gingerbread..
I'm not trying to cause problems just trying to get a fix on the situation.
I can always restore back to my last backup but im a flashaholic and sucks that im stuck on the same rom for so long
please help and its ok if i get flamed as long as i get a solution
From the top of my head, I would suggest to downgrade
the TWRP to ver. 2.2.2.0
Try that and see how it goes.
Good luck!

Have you tried a different download? Try using a different browser to dl and flash again. Or you could try using an older version of TWRP if the newer one isn't working well on your phone.

I just purchased a Samsung Galaxy S III I747M through Bell, but am a bit lost with ROM flashing. I flashed to new ROM's quite frequently on my old Motorola Milestone, but I am a bit confused with the ROM's for the S III since there are so many variants.
My main question is, as a Bell user am I limited to only d2bell roms or can I change information in the build props or elsewhere to flash d2att roms? I am currently running rooted CWM-based Recovery v5.5.0.4 and my have been unsuccessful so far in flashing ROMs.

I rooted using this tutorial and afterwords cwm recognized my phone as d2att and have had zero problems flashing any ROMs.
I'm on Telus BTW so I know what its like crossing beyond the d2can label

I had the same problem but prefer twrp over cwm so all I did was change my build.prop in rom toolbox, then downloaded goo.im from the playstore. You can flash twrp in app and because I changed the build.prop to say dtatt instead of d2can,it installed the at&t recovery, now I have no problem flashing anything. Hope that helps.

i initially got twrp via goo w/o chaning d2can to d2att. I've made backups etc already.
If i decide to change to d2att and resintall twrp as d2att
1) can I use the older d2can backups?
2) does reinstalling it on top of d2can's twrp work?
thanks!

Does changing from a d2can to d1att version of twrp work the same way? I can just flash on top of the existing wihtout any uninstalls and im assuming the d2att can still load d2can backups?
I know twrp are backward compatible, but are they cross version compatible?

I honestly have no idea. I know twrp update through goo manager is automatic so you would have to manually install it.
If you flash that recovery file it only changes your version of cwr.

Hey guys, I just picked up a new Galaxy S3 this morning and I'm not sure how to install a custom AOKP rom.
I've already rooted the phone, but because the firmware is 4.1.1 I'm unsure how to proceed.
Should I just install the latest AOKP rom version, or do I need to upgrade to a newer firmware while still using stock and go from there?

Should be in the q&a threads...
You'll need to install a custom recovery (twrp or cwm)
Than you can flash any ROM you want. If you want Tasks aokp just download the newest version and most recent gapps and flash as instructed in the thread.

Make sure you have the latest version of cwm. They're at 6.0.2.3 if your recovery isn't at that than the flash won't work properly.

It's not really an issue, I just tend to be somewhat of a minimalist when it comes to boot logos and animations.
Either way, I don't know much about compiling kernels. And the consensus seems to be that your kernel is pretty good, so I'm gonna stick with it.
Thanks for the reply, and I appreciate your work on the rom. Cheers!

The T999L is the Superior Cousin T999 never was. It has an LTE antenna that the T999 is missing. Practically all the Custom Roms will work fine from one to the other.
If you want to flash custom Recovery then use Goo Manager and hit Install Custom Recovery Script.

Are you absolutely sure you are successfully Rooted ? Please use Root Checker App if in doubt.
When you tried to flash the Recovery via ODIN, what was the error ? Can you post a screenshot ?
