[MOD] Build.prop Tweakz (Ultimate Smoothness) - HTC One V

Ok, so I've came up with the best build.prop tweakz I've ever made.
Beware, I've never tested these because I can't take the chance of bricking my device.
For scrolling speeds:
ro.smoothness.scrollingspeed=3
for battery life:
persist.battery_level=infinite
ro.batterylevel_always=100
For faster 3g:
ro.ril.3gril=yes
I will continue to add to these as I find them. They should work on any ROM (AOSP+Sense). I hope I've helped

ro.ril.lteishiddenforareason=googlewin <-- this one isnt useful, it removes lte from your mako
ro.batterylevel=0 <-- this one constantly warns of low battery

This definitely works. Especially the smooth scrolling, which I felt instantly after changing the build prop

The scrolling speed tweak works on sense, not the battery and 3g tweak.

Data Throttle Remover question.

Is there a new DTR for the newest nightlies? I'm on 97. I tried the previous one for 7.0.3, and my phone got stuff at the white boot screen everytime.
Still rocking the Incredible with the XDA Premium App.
Not that it matters, but you do realize that the DTR mod is merely snake oil, right? It does not prevent VZW from throttling you, nor does it reduce the likelihood of it. It does not increase speeds. All it does it remove the capability for device-side throttling, which carriers don't even utilize. As such, wrapping your phone in wax paper and spooning cherry pie filling on it would have the same net effect on "throttling"as the DTR mod
Are you sure? Because before I first installed the mod, my data affords speeds were at 0.6mbps. With mod, it was constantly 1.3mbps. Now that I flashed a new ROM, mod gone, I'm back to .6.

Data Throttle Remover - let's do some mythbusting
Even the original developers of this hack claim that it no longer works (it is referred to as "extinct") and only originally had any effect on T-Mobile and Canada Bell:

SO FAR, THIS HAS ONLY BEEN KNOWN TO WORK ON T-MOBILE USA AND CANADA BELL... ALL OTHER CARRIERS SEEM TO HAVE THESE FILES JUST BECAUSE IT'S A STANDARD IN ANDROID 2.2.1 AND SEEM TO BE CONTROLLED COMPLETELY OTA UNLIKE TMOBILE AND BELL...

The link above also has more of a timeline for when this mod was ported across the various phones (and therefore various carriers)
Ask yourself why the CM team doesn't bother messing with this mod. If it did what it claimed, why wouldn't they include it stock? After all, they include tethering functionality as part of the rom itself.
One thing I never got is why they (CM team) haven't gone ahead and removed it. Yes, most mobile companies don't use it and probably never will, but stranger things have happened. Plus it would cut down on the size of the ROM, however small.
Alright fair enough, so any other logical reason for the random data speed increases and losses at the same spots.
Still rocking the Incredible with the XDA Premium App.
Its just variation in network speed, I don't know that there's much rhyme or reason to it. I was getting 200-400kbps down earlier today, tested it like 20 mins later and was getting 800-1000kbps. Same location, same setup.

There are moment to moment variations in how RF signals propagate. What makes the DTR popular is that people see this variation, whether positive or negative, and incorrectly attribute it to the mod. It's a textbook post hoc logical fallacy.

These quadrant scores are totally overrated, IMHO. I would just take care wether the rom you are using runs smooth or not. If it does, there is no reason to check quadrant.

It does reflect on gaming performance though.. e.g. Worms lags on the latest runnymede but works awesome on CM7.. not saying it's a bad ROM, it's quite the opposite, probably one of the best (if not the best) Sense 3 rom out there

That's what I mean. Why check quadrant, if you can test yourself if it works well for your needs or not? I only play AngryBirds Rio, and it runs perfectly on dGB. So why should I give someting on my phone's quadrant score?
Besides, people using DATA2SD get a (very) unrealistic quadrant score because this script distorts the results. So the reflection on gaming perfomance would also be distorted. Nevertheless, I am pretty sure you are right in most cases.

Galaxy nexus CPU clock speeds 1.65Ghz!

just wondering what you guys are getting for clock speeds on your galaxy nexus, im successfully running 1.65 Ghz using franco's #18.2, stable and random reboot free, i would love to hear yours
What are your uv settings?

Weird I'm having trouble uploading from my app. But its 1450 mV for 1.65 and 1.6 1400 mV for 1500. i haven't done any undervolting yet, i dont want to mess with the stability, mainly because im happy my phone even runs on 1.65.

I myself not so concern about battery life loss from CPU OC as long as the screen is still consuming 50% of it everyday...
meh, i have a extended battery, get decent battery life and have an extra, so im not worried. and its not like im at a constant 1.6, im happy with it so far gonna use it for a few days and see how it goes
who cares about battery life when you have a massive e-peens!
Literally just got into rooting and theming with my first android (gnex). Rooted and installed aokp b25 with nova launcher and loving it!

Maybe a tutorial? lol

To the person who said they don't care when the screen takes 50%....
That makes no sense on why not to care about battery loss from overclocking.
Less == less, no matter what is draining it.

Thats how I rooted my phone and installed my rom. All googling, literally had no idea how to root or install a rom. Didn't even know any of the terminology.
Overclocking seems to be a bit more risky. I've tried googling a tutorial/beginners guide would be amazing.
What kernel are you guys using and where can I find it?
im using franco's #18.2 kernel you can find it in the cdma developer section

i noticed this too, i was gonna ask but i figured since all phones are different, it didnt really matter, but who the hell am i to say, your the expert...
I don't play the benchmark game, but ignoring your i/o score, your CPU score which an overclock would address is lower than stock 1.2ghz.

SGS Screen Booster

So I've been looking around at how to increase screen FPS/Sensitivity/Overall responsiveness and came across this app today. I've been using it all day and I can notice considerable increase in screen response. Typing has been much easier and I've made less mistakes and scrolling has never felt easier. I recommend everyone give it a shot and hopefully this could be built into ROMS/Kernels. It says SGS only but many have found it to work on their devices.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...Nob3A0YXBwcy50b3VjaHNjcmVlbmJvb3N0ZXIuY29tIl0.
So what does this app actually do? Does it simply just adjust built-in variables in Android for screen response (like the touch threshold, etc)? Or does it do something else entirely? Or maybe placebo? =P (although I doubt that last one is the case, based on the app reviews)
I don't have a clue how it works. All I know is that the screen should be this sensitive out of the box. I ran 12k in Temple Run after I did this and my highest previous run was 6k.
It certainly seems to work, great spot! ;-D
What settings have you found optimal?
Do you use an own configuration or a pre-installed one?
Don't know if it's a placebo effect, but now the phone feels a snappier
While I don't use this on SGN, I can vouch for it working. Used it on my old Hannspad (gTab) and it worked wonders for the sensitivity on that, so much so the device was unusable without it.
Regards.

The better responsiveness is especially noticable when you use a screen protector.
It just works perfect in my opinion
I'm def gunna try this on my Transformer Prime.
Going to run this on my xoom, that thing has terrible sensitivity
i dont really notice a difference at all. what setting are you using? regardless, i am going to use it on my touchpad and see if that helps with its lack of sensativity.

No risks so far. Yes, there's a default settings option. But you also have a check box to set on boot and if you don't check it the settings will go to default on the next reboot.
didn't notice any difference on my galaxy nexus
