I could not find another thread or post on this. I updated to 4.2.2 yesterday by clearing the services framework. Now when I'm trying to update my apps the following error appears -
Update could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-5:AEC-0])
Any help would be appreciated.

Log out of Google account and re add.
I cleared the play store data over 20 times but didn't do anything. I'll keep trying.
Couldn't find anywhere to log out of my google account, only to remove it completely from my phone, is that what you are suggesting madd0g?
Yes it gets removed, then you just readd it and it syncs everything back.

Removing the account and re-adding it did the trick, thanks.

Hello,
I have been having this issue for over a week now, I can't download any apps. I am on ICS 4.0.4 which I received through official Google update. The problem did start after the update. Attached is a screenshot of the error I receive when attempting to download Angry Birds Space. It says
"Angry Birds Space" could not be downloaded due to an error. (921)
I have Googled the error and people have suggested that clearing 'Google Services Framework' and 'Google Play' data + cache then restarting has resolved the issue for them. I have tried this many times to no avail. Others are saying that the error is at Google's side and should rectify itself, but a week with the error is excessive.
I am newish to Android and am not looking to flash a custom ROM at the moment. But if that's what needs to be done then I will give it a shot. I'm just not sure if that would even fix the issue.
Please help!
This problem happened to me too right after updating to 4.0.4. (stock).
I am sure it's on Google's side because I resolved mine through contacting Google support with detailed description of my problem. They said they recently had some problems causing this to happen and they resolved it remotely. Now I am able to update/download with no problems at all.

Alright, do you happen to have the URL to Google Support?
If deleting data and cache of the Market/Play Store App doesn't help, try deleting and re-adding your Gmail Account.

That did it! I can now download apps again! Thank you very much.
I'm not really sure if this works for everybody but adding a second gmail account solved the issue for me.
Try reinstalling the Google play store apk. I'll shoot you the latest if you need it

+1 but also before deleting and re-adding your gmail account also clear data and cache from googleservicesframework.apk
I've had this problem 2-3 times before, you just clear data and cache for Google Play and for Google Services Framework, reboot and you should be good to go. I've never needed to remove and re-add my google account

sometime it wasn't enough and re-adding your gmail account solved it ... i think i has to do with the automatic downloading of apps when your first flash a new rom (after a complete wipe)
Worked, thanks very much!
i had 4 android devices, note 2 stock unrooted, note 10.1 stock unrooted, nexus 7 stock rooted and nexus 4 stock unrooted.

(sorry for the cross-post...but this issue needs more attention)
Unfortunately i think all of us who are affected by this apparent account "corruption" on Google's servers are out of luck until this gets more mainstream exposure. I spoke with 2 Google support techs which was a complete waste of my time. The techs seem to be aware of the problem yet continue reading from scripts like robots. I've yet to read of a single account of someone getting this issue resolved where the account is corrupt on Google's servers. As with everyone else who is suffering from this issue, I'm frustrated and I see no evidence of any progress being made to resolve this issue any time soon.
Since this account is tied to 3 android devices i own...all devices suffer from the same issue.
VERY FRUSTRATING!!

Got this problem around a week ago and still no luck...
Talked to Google rep but they seems unaware of this issue and gave me the workaround posted here (non working).
The best I can do to make them update again is this (follow carefully): add the second account, remove the first account, download anything with second account, re-add first account, remove second account, and download the update.
Note that the My Apps list will be empty, I use Changelog Droid ATM, but now app can update EXCEPT the PAID ONE, even though you already purchased it, it'll show BM-PPH-01 error.
SOLVED!!!
I have this alert instead of my apps "error while retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-5:AEC-0]"
I have tried everything, then I've written to googleplay-support, after one hour everything works perfect on my account
Mine started working this morning on my phone & tablet. I had tried all the fixes to no avail. Just started working on it's own

After the email dropped from google play support, i think my account back to normal. now i'm able to see my paid apps and able to update everything (paid and free). Seem likely problem with the new version of Play Store.
For those who still got this problem, you might need to send an email to play support. Hopefully they can reset your info at the end ie Remote Pc.
Good Luck Guys.
Had the same problem.
This did the trick for me :
Go to settings/app.manager/all
Delete data + cache :
Google Play Store
Google Play-services
Google Services Framework
Hangouts
Market-feedbackagent (important)
Then delete google-account
Restart the phone and then re-add google-account.
This worked for me.

Hey there!
I get 941 error when installing apps way more often than on any other phones I used. I cleared cache & data for the play store (I also uninstalled updates) and the download manager, that didn't help much because almost every 4th app gives this error. Then I cleared cache & data for the play services, it's better now, but I still get the same error sometimes.
Anybody experiencing this or similar? Also, is there any way to fix this other than the 3 clears I mentioned above? Thanks in advance!
Try to delete the data of play store app. Worked for me
I already did that two times, and it didn't even solve the problem temporarily :/ Thanks for the tip, though.
Hm... Thes try to delete your Google account and add it new :fingers-crossed:
I used to get it every time. Cleared app data and cache which has helped.
I just get the occasional error now and again.

edit the host or just delete it(system/etc/host) file then u good to go
i get this all the time now, ever since my phone went to lg for repair. i get the 941 error, then i click install and its installed fine...weird
update: Reading another thread on the forum, if you uninstall the updates for the google play store, that stops the 941 error, but be aware that the play store will update itself as soon as it can. ive turned off auto updating so i'll see if that helps
All,
I had some issues with the Google Play Store force closing upon opening.. So i went ahead and un-installed all 4 apk's and re-installed them manually.
Now i get the No Connection Error after i enter my google credentials. I ve done this twice already, cleared cache but still no luck. What am i missing here
guys ?
I am using the v4.6.17 PlayStore, is there a latest version that works with Fire TV.

I know it says a different version then what I listed, but that is what I installed. Maybe it updates, not sure.
I am getting it's number from the Settings -> Apps listing. Check yours, see if it's the same.
Can't explain the number difference, seeing as I don't have any other google apk's any where else, so I know for sure I installed those from that how to.

Did you install the Xposed Installer? Pretty sure that is needed for the google store to work. Otherwise, sorry, don't know why you wouldn't be connecting.
Drove me crazy.. but i still haven't figured what the prob was.. but i un-installed and installed the play store (manually via adb) couple of times and it worked

Don't you love it when stuff does that?
Great discussion. Thank you all for your efforts. My problem is I can't get past the log in screen it says the account on this "phone" all ready exists??? Not sure how I can clear the cube other than a total factory reset. Rather not.
EDITED: the problem I also had with AirPin Pro is not related to the problem I'm having with Google Play Store.
Hi all. I bought a rooted FTV in January with the Google Play Store app installed. I've had no problems with the Play Store until yesterday when I could no longer access my account settings or download any apps whatsoever. If I try to download an app, I keep getting an error message saying "there was an error retrieving the server information [RPC: S-3: AEC-0] and [RPC: S-7: AEC-0]".
I followed some advice in other threads about uninstalling the Google Play Store and Google Play Services, and then reinstalled all 4 APKs required for the Play Store. This worked once but the Play Store is back to giving me the error message when trying to download apps and not allowing me to access my account. I'm wondering if there were some other files I needed to delete but didn't? I don't want to recklessly delete files or APKs!
Does anyone have some thoughts on what is going on, or if I'm doing something when deleting/reinstalling the Play Store app?
Cheers
Gary
