[Q] Persistent Google Play error (941) - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey there!
I get 941 error when installing apps way more often than on any other phones I used. I cleared cache & data for the play store (I also uninstalled updates) and the download manager, that didn't help much because almost every 4th app gives this error. Then I cleared cache & data for the play services, it's better now, but I still get the same error sometimes.
Anybody experiencing this or similar? Also, is there any way to fix this other than the 3 clears I mentioned above? Thanks in advance!

Try to delete the data of play store app. Worked for me

I already did that two times, and it didn't even solve the problem temporarily :/ Thanks for the tip, though.

Hm... Thes try to delete your Google account and add it new :fingers-crossed:

I used to get it every time. Cleared app data and cache which has helped.
I just get the occasional error now and again.

edit the host or just delete it(system/etc/host) file then u good to go

i get this all the time now, ever since my phone went to lg for repair. i get the 941 error, then i click install and its installed fine...weird
update: Reading another thread on the forum, if you uninstall the updates for the google play store, that stops the 941 error, but be aware that the play store will update itself as soon as it can. ive turned off auto updating so i'll see if that helps

Apps won't download from Play Store

I can no longer download apps from the google play store. I press download, it says "Downloading...", the loading bar has small lines going across it, but progress never starts, and it sits there like this. Does anyone know how to fix this? I am running Tiny CM10.1.
My problems with the play store were solved when I wiped and reinstalled from scratch. This a sudden thing, or have you made any changes lately?
Others have also reported success by going in to Apps Management and choosing "Clear Data" for the Google Play Store. (There's also a Google Play Services in the list...not sure if it's necessary to clear that, too.)
I have had this problem somewhat recurringly on this rom, it didn't work for a while, then I cleared play store, download manager, basically anything with Google in the name. Other times this fixed it, but this time it wouldn't work even after a restart. I ended up getting it to work by rebooting to recovery, wiping cache, and restarting.

I Just had the same problem. Here is how I fixed it,
- Uninstalled updates for Google Play
- I added a New Google Account.
- I Then signed into the new Google Account, Then Sign Into Your Main Account
And "BOOM" problem solved.
I never had this problem until recently and it's happened several times now. It seems to happen after a major change to my system ie rom update or multiple app updates or Tibu restore I not really sure. I tried several methods of un-installing & re-installing the play store app and wiping it's cache and data with varying degrees of success.
What has worked every time without fail is a complete cache wipe with "CacheMate for root users" app.

[Q] Play store error on Note 2

I have an issue with my play store in Note 2.
The upgrades never happen and it gives me an error with error code 495.
Tried various msthods to resolve it like -
1) Disabling Play store and enabling it.
2) Clear data and cache of both download manager and play store.
3) Uninstall latest updates on Play Store (which eventually updated itself to 3.10.10 (latest) after rebooting and loging in back to play store)
Any other suggestions/help/fix to resolve this.
Note that i can still download a new app but the upgrade is not functioning.

thanks for watching this thread guys (to all the 126 ppl who took thier time to watch this). Atleast you guys keep my hopes alive
Once I had an issue with the play store not updating my apps as well. I can't really remember the error code, but I was able to fix it momentarily by clearing the cache of every single app on my phone (use this app, it works great: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.infolife.cache ). But the issue would always return so I ended up "fixing" the problem by a doing a factory reset and restoring my titanium backups selectively.

My Google Play Store is GONE!

Tonight, I tried to install some apps from my google play store and I was unable to do so.
It was just stay stuck on downloading. Very frustrating.
I went to the XDA site and it said that I should clear data, clear cache, and uninstall the updates, which I did.
I hit the disable button, thinking I would be able to go right back to it and enable it back up again.
What happened was that the Google Play store Icon disappeared, along with any mention of google play on my phone. I went to another site on XDA where it recommended installing an older version, which I downloaded and hit install.
After what seemed like a long time for the Google Play Store installing screen to go away. Eventually it said it was installed but I didn't have an option to open it. I can't find it in my list of apps
I can't even get it to install!
Any help or reference to a fix would be appreciated.
I am rooted with a stock rom
Thanks
Mike
update
I finally found my google play. There is a disabled section and it was in there.
However, I still can't get it to download and install apps. I just gets stuck at the app will be downloaded and installed. That does not happen. Any suggestions?
Did you try Rebooting the Device ? Is Data working correctly in other Apps ? If Data is working correctly in other Apps, and rebooting does not work. You can try Force Closing the Play Store. Then clear Data for it. Clear Cache, and Reboot. When it's done Booting up, sign back in. See if that resolves the issue.

Try toggling your network mode. From lte/cdma to cdma only and vice versa. Mines done that to me a few times

[Q] "process com.google.process.apps has stopped"

In the title of this post I quoted the error message my 2013 N7 gives when I boot it up. It is acting seriously messed up and I' ve been trying for days to fix it. It won't download updates or anything, and the Play Store won' t open. I found some threads here by people with similar problems, and I would like to try the suggested solutions but for some reason my tablet's menus don't offer the actions I need to do, like enable downloads or reset app preferences. I've looked everywhere and tried everything.
At androidcentral they had me wipe the cache partition, and I was pretty sure that wouldn't help but I did it anyway. I've lost many hours to this, posting in various forums and trying everything I can think to do, and every avenue is closed to me. Please advise.
Have you tried a factory reset?

If you mean "com.google.process.gapps" then you need to reinstall/update Google Play Services from the play store.

The play store won't open. I can try to uninstall/reinstall Play Services if there's some other way.
On my device, when I go to settings -- apps -- Google Play Services, there are buttons for force stop, uninstall updates, disable, clear data, and c!ear cache. I don't see one for uninstall.
Trying just to update the app won't work, attempts to update anything always abort.
If you'll please suggest a course of action, I'll try it and get back to you. Thanks for your help.

Error 963 downloading from play store

Having bought and attempted to download a game from the play store (they're having a sale) they took my money and then didn't give me the game, I've wiped data on play services and play store several times and even logged out of Google altogether. Still gives me this horrible error.
I'm currently running viper ROM 1.6.0.
Has anyone seen this error?, does anyone know a way to fix it?
Thanks.
Edit: now getting error 940.
Really getting on my nerves this. Can't install anything.
EDIT 2: Have uninstalled Viper for the time being, I don't know if it was the rom's fault or not but i've went with another until i resurfaces, funny thing is, this was apparently a real issue on the M8 too (I didn't own that phone) either way, will leave this here incase a fix arises.

I had the same problem with this error 963 when I wanted to download a certain game but I solved that as I was logging in with my computer to the google store and give a permission from there to install the game, the result a good working limbo on my HTC M9! I hope this will help you too!

Actually went ahead and re-installed the rom, all working now, I've heard of HTC devices having this issue before, namely on the M8, although I didn't have that device, could be a google issue i suppose, just never seen it before.
I'm having this issue rite now, and reinstalling rom has not helped at all. What else can I do?
Just had the same issue myself. Try initiating the download via the play store, I switched to another app and downloaded that.
Seeing as though you reinstalled your ROM, that's interesting, the can only be so much that remains consistent..
The content on your internal and external memories and your accounts.. The problem resides in one or the two, the fact that the user before you was able to deal with the issue via the internet I'd say its more an account issue..one of the problems I had with the 963 error was the download changed size in the play store.. The initial size of limbo was around 120MB and after the first error the size changed to around 27MB, what I thought had happened is a corruption had taken place in my memory and it was failing for that reason.. Personally I'd clear the downloaded data for the app that you're getting and I would initiate the download via the web. Fingers crossed it works. Good luck, let me know how it goes.

i went on my PC and installed some apps through play store on my PC, but some are still failing with some different codes. ive tried wiping play store, google play services and and frame work, but no good.
What ROM are you using? I switched from viper to leedroid but then it happened on Lee droid too. After reinstalling the ROM the issue went away. I'm really not sure what else to suggest. Could there be a flag on your Google account which is stopping it? I dont believe its luck at all, there has to be a reason why this is happening. Try this.
Disconnect your Google account, wipe data for Google framework, Google play services and Google play. Delete the nearly downloaded file. Go to recovery and wipe dalvic and cache. Boot back into the phone and sign into your Google account. Then pull the game from the play store on the web, do it in that sequence and hopefully it'll work. Hopefully someone else will chime in with a suggestion or a fix.
Also list the codes which you're getting, might spark an idea with someone else.
I'm starting to think its something installed or a corruption. Between ROMs I always wipe the internal memory and simply select key folders which I want to keep, ie: downloads, dcim, Zedge, co pilot, maybe I'm inadvertently fixing the issue without knowing it.
i believe i fixed it.
1) download a file manager then navigate to sdcard\android\data and obb and delete the files of the apps that are failing to install
2) clear cache and delvik cache in recovery
3) open play store, go to my apps, then scroll over to all apps
4) locate the apps that are failing to install and click the little "X" on the top right of the entry and delete them from account, even if they are paid for, you will still be able to re-install.
5) log on to the play store via a computer, search for the apps that wont install and install them through the play store on the PC
I think whats going on here and why we are getting errors is because we may have restored a backup and then stopped it from downloading apps or lost connection, etc, and play store thinks the app IS already installed on the phone and wont let you download it. i had about 15 apps that wouldn't install and i fixed all using this method.
Sort of along the same lines as what I said, nice one for reporting back on it I'll try this next time it occurs. Cheers fella.

i tried cleaning the apps data (play store, frame work, and services) and signing out and in etc, but i think that only made the issue worse.

Either way it doesn't matter, glad you've got it working. Appreciate you feeding back.

ive done this multiple times and every time i did it, more and more apps would fail, so i think doing this made it worse.
Besides removing the apps from the apps list in the play store, its no different mate. Haha let it go.

I have/had this issue. When I unmount my external sd card everything downloads fine. If I try with sd card mounted nothing downloads
This was happening to me on a bone stock ATT 32gb... It just started working again for some unknown reason..
Confirmed, unmounting sd card makes updates/downloads/installs work again.
Because google is too ****ing retarded to implement an option that gives you the option to select what storage to use when you download a certain app...
Really how hard is it to add that google?!
Press install -> get popup with either SD card or internal memory for the app -> done..
No instead we have to use ****ty apptoSD crap..
But it's all part of the typical google mindset "our way or **** off"
