Hi all,
I've been using my arc S for over a year and I like it a lot. However, recently I've been experiencing frequent crashes, and sudden hanging of the system whereby I need to force restart the phone.
I'm not good with Android development, but managed to root my phone using doomlord method, and am using Nova launcher with it. It's currently on ics 4.0.3
Is there any way to find out what's wrong? For example, I'm surfing using boat browser, and without any warning, the browser app just closes. Another time I was reading on pulse news app,and it auto closes by itself. I used ezpdf and often it hangs while reading pdf files. It wasn't like this when I first updated it.
Can anyone tell me is it the problem with the system or hardware?
I'm reluctant to change to a new phone.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Do a factory reset, or repair via seus or pcc

Yep a repair with a pc companion should do the trick.
Thanks, I've done an update via PCC, and factory reset to clean up everything. Re-rooted and everything. I will continue to monitor for the next one month.

Hmm how long has it been since setting it all up. It might just be all of the google stuff syncing... I had the same thing happen to me! Leave it for 20 minutes or something and see if it works any better
same issue here.. I HATE IT
I doubt it is because of root or rom. I had this issue as wel up until yesterday. It was suddenly fixed. I think because I usually install apps using Astro (or any file explorer), because of hard resetting etc. I thought maybe if i install an app directly from the market, it would fix it. I installed 'msn talk', did a reboot and it's fast now.. I don't know if this was what made it work, but it's working great now.
edit: before that I tried to uninstall a market update and reinstall again. But it was still slow after uninstall, reinstall and cleared caches.
I am on a non rooted device btw.
I`ve rooted 4 devices today and all same to have this issue .. ?
Just out of interest were any of you also missing the "top paid" tab as well. It was missing from my market after rooting as well as the slowdown, then it just appeared about a half hour in. Also did any of you have a similarly slow market when you first got the device. I am on T-mobile and for the first couple of days it was lagging in much the same way as it is now. Maybe it is to do with something new devices do, like the Google sync suggested.
I found that it is best to install all apps manually. Backup programs somehow slow everything down for me! Plus I dont know if the updates are pushed to you because the g market doesnt think you have installed them
My market is so slow but I didnt rooted my device

is that new issue or something to do with android market??? recent update or something? or it is just the desire? Sent from my HTC Desire using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
It's the same with mine (not rooted) since about 4 days. Have to keep rebooting even to try and install/uninstall anything.

Hmm..
No problems here at all.
Fast market, top paid apps showing.
Rooted with r3 linux cd method.
did not install a2sd.
so far no hiccups at all.
I'm getting this. Rooted, Apps2SD.
Been on a few different ROM's, now back to the original rooted one.
Not all of my restored apps (using Titanium Backup) were showing when I went to Downloads. What I have just done is got Settings - Applications - Manager Apps and cleared the market cache and all the apps seems to have returned. Still very slow though... but maybe getting quicker. Is it a syncing thing?
Anyone that did have the slow down, is it getting quicker now?
I can confirm, clearing the market cache seems to fix this.

Hello,
Yes before i rooted the Market was a dogs arse, Very slow, then after a day or to, it was as fast as i would expect it to be, then i rooted my device, again it was slow for a few days, but is now back to normal.
I think it just needs time to sort its self out, like a alcholic the morning after!!.
The only thing i have used diffrently since i rooted was the cache cleaner app in the market.
I can confirm, clearing the market cache seems to fix this.

It's not instant, but I had to do it again yesterday. I cleared cache and installed about 30 apps. By that time the market was back up to speed.
what if you have no cache to clear and the problem still persists
try logging into google talk, that works for me
Hi Guys,
I'm running all stock and the phone works fine on Wifi but the widgets/apps dont seem to connet to the internet or update when on 3g. So far, I've been trying the Facebook app/widget, Twitter, XDA app and GMail. I'm thinking it has something to do with a setting but I cant find anything that fixes this.
Any and all help is appreciated.
I had this too after a bug update last week, a factory reset helped to solve the problem

Failing other solutions, I guess ill have to give a Factory Reset a try. Ill update this thread when a solution is found.

Hello Guys,
I have been having this problem from quite some time now (And frankly I don't remember since when).. Whenever my apps are getting updates from the Google Play Store, my mobile becomes painfully slow and lags majorly. It like as if you are using Jellybean on a device meant for Android Eclairs! My system is neither rooted not modified. I had the same problem even on 4.1.2 so it is not the firmware issue. My Note II has Kaspersky antivirus installed which checks every new and updated app. I thought it may be because of this so I uninstalled the app but still no effect Toggling Power Saving Mode On/Off does not make any difference either
I have no idea what is causing it and it is really troublesome.. I have A LOTT of apps and sometimes it updates almost 10 12 apps in a go which is really irritating with the lag!!
Have have chosen any option that is causing this?? Or any app??
Please help me with this
Cheers!
I have the same issue and I thought it started with update to Android 4.3, but it is probably due to update of Play Store application, now that you say you also had this problem on 4.1.2... Everything is smooth (ROM) except when I'm updating apps, it freezes so much I'm unable to do anything and I remember I used to run "update all" and then go back to Launcher and did other things while update run in the back... now it is slowing down the system... I wondered if it is a problem with XPrivacy module, but probably not...
Has anybody got any help on this?

Hello,
since the update smart doctor kind of crashes everytime when i unlock the screen or start other apps on my LG G7 european version.
Deleting the App cash didnt solve the problem for me. Does anybody else have this problem and maybe knows a solution?
I had some weird issues after the update to Android 10, some settings were not saved.
I've decided to do a clean factory reset and things got fixed after.
And I think a proper factory reset is useful since most probably is the last OS update that we have received.

Hi, after reset my phone smart doctor still crashing several times. Do not disturb mode don't work at all when time is set. A fix won't come or will take manny months again. After 2 years I maybe buy the pixel 4a when it comes out.

Same problem here. Smart Doctor crashes after the update to android 10. Haven't found a way to fix this yet. And don't want to do a factory reset.
Just installed new update. It could be a fix since It's the first time smart doctor get updated.

After some more oberservation it looks like that the error disappears after some time, but after every restart of the phone it comes back. I also updated the app but it didn't make a difference for me.
i also had error, simply open smart doctor, settings - extensions - smart doctor, i was confident that app needs permission of some kind and that i was asked to grant one, but now i see no permissions requested in app info, so open app and grant permission if asked, error will not reappear...
sorry for bad english
Still today have no issues with smart doctor anymore after the update. I did nothing special

its **** anyway, uses your ram and does worse than better, any app similar to those are **** and they slow down your phone because they run in the backround and waste resources while doing nothing.
