Left Charger plugged in while Updating! HELP! - HTC One X

Hi,
okay so I am new to this forum and need some help. I left the charger in while updating and now the phone is stuck on HTC white boot screen. I am an idiot I know not following instructions but didn't think this would happen.
If anyone can help or give me any advice I would be so grateful!
Kyle

Are you using stock rom?
Or you have an unlocked bootloader with a custom recovery and rom?

I very much doubt leaving the charger in will do any sort of damage...and if it did, well shoot me down and call me a noob because I wouldn't think twice about leaving the charger in.
Sounds like the very common boot loop problem.
If you're on a custom rom find the rom.zip extract it and copy and paste the boot.img into your fastboot folder, flash it via cmd commands.
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Fastboot erase cache.
Like the previous poster suggested, need more info

I didnt think it would do any damage either as I have load of other devices that dont mention anything about taking charger out before you update and they are fine and no I am not on a custom rom so can extract the zip file!

Stuck trying to install custom rom

Okay so I am trying to install the jdroid rom, btw first time ever doing this so bare with me, anyways I can't boot my phone stays at HTC quietly brilliant screen with some writing underneath it red. I can get into the bootloader menu, where I am rooted and says my bootloader is unlocked. I can also get into clockwork mod however I messed up when transferring the rom onto my phone. I unzipped it and put it there instead of leaving it in the zip file. I can't mount to my laptop through clockwork mod, is there any other way? Again I can't boot my phone. Thanks
EDIT: Now whenever my phone boots, it boots into the clockworkmod and keeps rebooting I can't do anything, cant mount my phone at all

You need to enter the fastboot mode ... hold "volume-down + powerbutton" for 10 secs and then again push the powerbutton to enter the fastboot mode.
Edit: and after that use the comand fastboot flash recovery nameofrecovery.img

What you need to do when flashing:
a) CWM recovery
fastboot flash recovery xxxrecovery.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot erase cache
b) Flashing a ROM
extract the boot.img from the ROM.zip
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot erase cache
enter recovery
install the ROM.zip
reboot

Next time also read the instructions.
M.
as long as you can get the correct RUU and flash the correct stock recovery, RUU will defo work, then you can start again from scratch. I've done this myself
edit: AT&T????? Are you even in the correct forum using the correct files/methods??? HTC One XL is different forum, different files!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alright I got out of it using the st&t ruu, though I live in Canada and on Rogers. Data doesnt work but that is not surprise. Gotta wait for a root access and/or bootloader unlock for 1.85. will be patient.

[Q] I bricked my One X

Hi there,
I have recently bricked my HOX by trying to install the latest BinDroid ROM.
I did root the device properly and I dont know what went wrong during the ROM installation.
Short story; the device stuck on bootloop and now runs out of juice. Is there any way to get it back to work or I just have to send it to HTC for repair.
What exactly did you do and when did it fail.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
If you have flashed the most recent recovery you can charge in recovery, I would suggest plugging in.
Turn on by holding power + volume down
If you get the white hoot screen go into recovery and leave it to charge.
Your rom is probably bootlooping because you didn't manually flash the boot.IMG that came with the Rom in fastboot
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
The problem is, I already relocked my HOX to install stock RUU, but the power is less than 30%.
Ok. I have done this in the past.
Plug phone in to wall
Power on.
Choose power off.
Phone will reboot
Repeat process many times.
While the phone is rebooting it is actually charging for a few second
You may have to do this quite a while to get above 30 %
Once there unlock and boot into recovery so you can charge to full
Learn the lesson and don't play with low battery

I'm in recovery now, using 'recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.4.0-endeavoru'...

Yes. That version will allow you to charge.
Then its just getting a Rom working
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Hey I know you've already got it to charge but for other people's information according to the wiki and further to the other users comment you could leave the screen on the HTC quietly brilliant screen and it would still continue to charge although it doesn't appear to be. It really is.
Dno if you've fixed it but now you need to try either a nandroid back up and flash the boot.img inside that via fastboot on your computer. Or a custom Rom and flash THAT boot.img via fastboot.
I hope to god you've got one of those on the root of your phone storage, otherwise your last resort is a ruu

It's okay, everyone starts somewhere and i don't pretend to be a professional but i'll try help. And yeah the HTC quiterly brilliant screen was just incase you didn't have enough charge to enter fastboot
Basically a nandroid back up is a back up file created by a custom recovery (e.g. Clockwordmod), this backs up EVERYTHING, your whole system and rom (it's important to do these before flashing custom roms, incase anything goes wrong). But anyway, i doubt you've done that so moving on.
Basically our HTC one x's cannot be S-off at the moment, so because of this we only have access to certain parts of the system and boot files.
You need to find the rom you put on your HTC One X and put it on your computer (or download it from somewhere). Unzip it and find the boot.img. This process is sort of like the one where you unlocked your bootloader.
You need to plug your phone into the computer which has SDK tools and everything installed and enter CMD - and put your phone into fastboot usb mode.
Assuming you followed HTC dev method you'd copy the boot.img out of the rom folder you unzipped earlier and place it in C:/Android
Open command prompt (windows) or the linux/MAC variant
and type the following
cd C:/Android
then
fastboot flash boot boot.img
This will flash the boot.img for your rom
then type
fastboot erase cache (i think)
and reboot your phone through the bootloader. It should now boot.
:good:

glad to hear good news my friend..and a new update should be tonight or tomorrow with a new ARHD
have read the ARHD 7.2.0 latest feedback, and tried to flash 7.2.0 over the 7.1.0 w/out Superwipe but stuck on HTC One screen.
Now i restore back my ARHD 7.1.0..
Once the 7.2.1 version out, can I flash it without flashing 7.2.0.

[Q] Stuck at boot screen

Whenever I turn on my Htc one vx it goes to the htc boot logo and under it it has the words in red letterss. "This build is for development purposes only. Do not distribute outside of HTC without HTC's written permission. Failure to comply May lead to legal Action." I tried to root it but had some trouble and when i get into boot loader it says at the top tampered and unlocked. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sorry for the late response. I don't remember too well. I watch a guide with the normal commands to root it but was stuck where it was rooted but i could not load super user. I made the mistake of trying to unroot it and then it got stuck at the screen. ok well if you are still unlocked fastboot flash a recovery then flash a stock rooted rom i would try ICS frist because if you have not flashed a JB RUU or the JB firmware you should still be on ICS 4.0 firmware unless you know you where on JB 4.1.2 if so install the JB stock rooted rom. to do that after you fastboot flash the recovery and have DL the rom just put the rom on a ext. SD card via PC sd card reader. also extract the boot.img from the rom and put it in the same dir. that you have adb and fastboot files. boot into recovery.Do a factory reset wipe from the recovery then install the rom for SD card. After it installs reboot to bootloader fastboot then fastboot flash the boot.img . Hint wherever you have adb fastboot files just open that dir and hold shift and right click and that will give you the option to open cmd propt in that dir. then do your fastboot flash cmd. that should do it and get you up and running again. hope it helps

Nevermind I found the htc drivers.

have you tried to flash another recovery? try Philz one (the best version depends on the rom you want to try), connect to pc, mount usb as storage, copy a rom on the phone and flash it if it is bootloop maybe it's a bad kernel flash or a missing kernel flashing process
im not an expert or something but...how can i mount usb storage and copy rom when it won´t turn on?

no, if it's off you can't, but as buttons blink three times, maybe you can enter fastboot and so you can try to update recovery...
sorry, mine are only guesses as i've never faced such a condition, but if you can enter fastboot maybe you can recover the device
now it again turn on in recovery (if it is even recovery, i really dont know ). It shows this screen and i really know what to do, can you write it step by step? or post some link?
it's not recovery, it's fastboot
do this way: try to download again the unlock.bin from htcdev.com if you haven't got it, unlock the bootloader and flash the recovery i told you before, then enter recovery, connect to pc and select mount usb storage... then copy a rom zip on phone, reboot to bootloader and flash rom kernel, enter again recovery, wipe everything to flash a new rom and flash the zip.. you should be fine

you're right Mr Hofs, but i really don't like stock rom and i've never used a RUU, so i fear i would have given wrong infos

[Q] Bricked HTC One X - Fastboot - Relocked - No revovery

Hi folks,
I've really got myself into a horrid, horrid mess.
I rooted the phone last night, managed to (or so I thought) install a custom ROM.
In the end, I panicced and tried to load an RUU back onto the handset.
Long and short of it is, that I now have a handset connected via USB, relocked, stuck on fastboot, and trickle charging by rebooting the loader on a constant loop.
Should I be putting this on ebay for spares and repairs? Or is there a way to salvage the kit?
Feel free to flame me for my obvious lack of knowledge here, but any help would be greatly appreciated.
