AW: Any battery saver application
I recommend Deep Sleep Battery Saver(Pro). Throughout different Firmwares it is by far the besteht I've ever used and the only one which drops battery drain significantly. It has enough options to configure. My battery now lasts for ab out 18 to 24 hours at normal use.

This should be in the Q&A. I recommend and app called greenpower (premium if you want extra features). Definitely saves battery by turning off wifi when screen is off, disabling auto-sync etc. Please take in mind though that all of these can be done by yourself and most other power saving apps work along the same lines.

I recommend not using such apps, best for you to read the ahalford thread on wakelocks and use cpuspy for deepsleep and betterbatterystats to finding wakelocks and partial wakelocks.

Stock battery level

Hi guys,
I'm experiencing a major battery drain from my stock One X. It seemed to start when I was playing around with settings for juice defender.
Firstly JD saved good battery levels but disconnected my roaming.
I then reset JD to balanced and now my battery drains within 3 hrs.
I disabled it, changed settings, nothing worked. Now my phone is constantly on charge.
Can someone help?
This happened once before before JD a quick restart and then fine.
Btw love the forum and one X

I think you should remove JD from system and check again. Also check WiFi sleep policy and apps running in memory via task manager. Or install CPU spy to see which process eats your battery. What you stock battery app shows? It also should show the process which eats battery juice.

Installed cpu spy like you said. There seems to be something at 1200mhz that was at 67% over 1 minute 37 secs.
I've un installed and reinstalled JD but it made no difference.
I've been using for the last 20 mibs and used about 30%
Arrrgghhh so frustrating

What app does your battery gauge say you're using it on? Settings, Power, Battery Use. Post a screenshot

Battery saving apps

Do you use any battery saving apps on your ion? Do they actually work, or make a difference? Never really used one, so not too sure about them.
The ion has an app that disables bluetooth, network, etc depending on the battery percentage to conserve battery.

A lot of people heavily recommend JuiceDefender (Original/Plus/Ultimate), but I've never really given it a fair trial, as my Ion doesn't seem to have too much trouble with battery life. It'll last a day or two with moderate use, and that's fine for me.
I have been using Boost to manage apps and it seems to work quite well. I have used Juice defender but never really liked it. With Boost I just set it to ignore the stuff that makes the phone run and have it force close any non phone function app. Have it set to auto kill every 15 minutes.
I'd take a look at Gemini App Manager. With that you can prevent apps from starting automatically in many situations and then using a lot of ram and draining your battery. There is a 'config autorun' option to do that. Saves a lot of battery imo.

I use juice defender ultimate to keep data off unless an app like Pandora is running or every two hours it checks email or if I open the app store or xda or email otherwise data remains off so it saves batter by a ton

Battery drain with google now?

So guys ...
Did you enable or disable Google now?
Because I have heard that the Google now is causing great battery drain..
Or how to enable Google now without enabling location in settings. I mean how to prevent Google now to use location,so we can avoid battery drain by using locations...
Im sorry if this question was asked before..
Thanks in advance folx

I enabled it because i find it useful for me. I haven't noticed any dramatic battery drain. Phone still lasts all day

I leave all of the location services on and leave my GPS enabled all the time. The wife and I also use Latitude with each other. In total, maps uses about 10% to 12% of my battery each day with about 5-6 hours of screen-on time. I don't consider that a huge drain. It's usually second or third on my list of apps that used battery though, usually under Screen, and Audiut since I use my phone as my mp3 player all day at work.

Are the native battery stats accurate?

Hey guys,
I wanted to know if the native stock Battery stats (under settings) considered accurate.
I suspect that a certain app drains my battery, though I cannot see it under the Battery stats menu.
Is there any chance an app drains a lot of battery and it's still won't appear under this menu?
Thanks
Tom.
I use it only for total uptime and screen on time. Other is near useless. It always show similar stat whenever you battery draining fast or not.

Not in the slightest when it comes to which app is using what. Get BMP from the play store to check wakelocks and such.
I too only use it for the total uptime and screen time. For specific app usage I use Betterbatterystats and android tuner, both paid.

Poor battery life in 5.1 due to kernel

I updated to 5.1 a few days ago and noticed that the battery was draining quite a bit faster than in 5.02. I'm rooted and have gsam battery monitor installed and the kernel is accounting for about 20% of the battery drain...more than any other app and even more than the android system. Wondering if anyone else is having the same problem and what I might try to fix it.

Not here. Same (great) battery life as 5.0.2.
"kernel is accounting for about 20%" doesn't tell anything. Install better battery stats and check the kernel and partial wakelocks to see what's keeping it from deep sleep. There's a free version here for xda members.
I installed BBS but it will probably be until this weekend before I have the time to figure the app out. Looked a little complicated in the few minutes I've messed with it so far.

It's pretty easy. Enable watchdog in the setting and set it to "screen off" in the dropdown menu then just shut the screen off for a couple hours. Turn it on and check the cpu states and your kernel and partial locks to get an idea of what's keeping it up. You want a your deep sleep in the 90's. You can do that with all google services turned on. If ya got facebook or something installed theres your problem.
