Question for Devs - dsixda Kitchen

I was setting up a working folder and, towards the end, my PC switched off. I think it finished because in the working folder all the files seemed to be there.
Just in case something was missing I started from the beginning but the PC shut down at the same point.
Now the PC doesn't recognise any USB device plugged into it. In fact it doesn't even show a USB not recognised message and my phone doesn't acknowledge any connection, which it used to even when my PC was playing up.
Has this ever happened to anybody using the kitchen?
I restored the PC to a recent restore point which fixed the PC turning off when using the kitchen but not the USB problem.

I just remembered I have another USB port that I don't use cos it's too slow and there's only one. Trouble is, even though I put my phone in fastboot mode (the light turns blue), Flashtool says I'm in flash mode.
How do I make it go to fastboot mode? All the drivers are on the PC somewhere.

I need to BUMP this with the emphasis on how I get my phone in fastboot mode. I had no problem til my main USB thingy decided it doesn't want to work anymore, so I know I've installed everything necessary (drivers, files, etc...).
I'm currently on a kernel that doesn't have recovery so I'm a tad desperate. I need fastboot mode.

Turn phone off hold the search button in for a few seconds then while still.holding the button down connect your phone to your pc the notification led should light blue if so your in fastboot to get out just take the battery out or disconnect the cable

It turns blue but Flashtool says I'm in flash mode. It worked in my other, now-broken USB bit.

[Q] R800i not being detected via USB[SOLVED]

As the title says basically
My phone will charge from the wall socket but I'm not getting any notifications when I attach it to my netbook. It fails to install the MTP drivers as well. I've had to resort to using a USB MicroSD adaptor when I need to copy files over but its starting to become annoying now.
Anyone have any idea how to get the USB functionality back to my device?

i would like to know too. I just flashed doomkernal and i cant get wifi to work, (even after enabling wifi in the build.prop) and it fails to install drivers when i connect it to my computer, i cannot enter mass storage mode.

[Q] How to make my phone appear in USB mode?

When I connect my phone to PC, everything is perfectly fine. However, I want it to run in USB mode instead of appearing under 'portable devices'. This is because I want to run a software to recover a lost file and this software requires my phone to be in USB mode. Anyone knows how to do it?

[Q] Unable to connect to laptop when NOT in debug mode

I'm having an issue where I can connect to my 64 bit Win 7 laptop in debug mode, but I'm not able to connect in the MTP mode with debug turned off. I expected to be able to mount the device storage in either mode.
Is that correct? If so, any ideas? I do notice I can't seem to get the MTP driver to stay in device manager unless I activate device mode. I have verified I have the Google Nexus ADB interface installed.

I had the same problem. Go into the device manager. Don't just remove, also delete the current drivers. Once they reinstall it solved the problem for me.

Broken display and Mtp mode not set yet.

Like it says my display is completely broken :'(
The phone starts up and I hear the Samsung tune start and then it connects to computer.
However it connects as a fresh install. I'm almost certain USB Debugging is on, but I don't believe I had hooked it up to a pc on the Rom yet so I have not selected Mtp mode yet. Its modified Touchwiz kk not cm.
Is there an easy method to command it to connect through mtp before or with simple adb commands?
Or do I have to download Android sdk and go full adb everything?
