what you are doing rong is not searching, this question has been asked/answered a million times... flash the latest twrp( i dont recommend cwm, cuz i have had nothing but issues with it) and you will only have one "0" folder or use the guide that is linked in my sig to get rid of th "0" folder once and for all

What he said, but for me,i have problems with TWRP recovery. It put all my files somewhere else, not in the /0 folder. So i use CWM. So you choose which one that gives you less headache

Backup all files from Sdcard , clean fastboot flash stock 4.2.1 , fastboot flash latest twrp image and u r set .

For sure, I just like to use my full-size keyboard.. Plus the Cut and Paste on the PC is faster and why I chose this method.. It was so easy I thought I'd share this..
Hey not trying to bash or anything and I think its cool you wrote up the tutorial although when looking for TWRP for our phones I saw the choice of using terminal or the app so I know the info is out there. I am just confused as to why you created a new thread when I feel your post would be much more helpful within the thread for TWRP 2.2 or in General.
Since this is not a change or an upgrade to the app it may or may not get that many hits and fall off the first page. But yes the information is rather important for those who need an alternative to getting TWRP on their device. I am not sure if you did but I hope you also posted in that thread your tutorial
Again not trying to disrespect you but trying to suggest in my way...:good:
Thanks I might.

Thanks! finally back to 2.2.2.0 what a relief. FYI, your DL link goes to team win's hercules page which only has 2.3.0 as far as I can tell. I got the .img file from someone's dropbox in the 2.3.0 thread. Also, the next comment in the thread linked a flashable zip with 2.2.2.0 which would allow people to skip the somewhat nerveracking command lines. Only question is, how do you flash it at that point? Certainly not from within twrp, right?
Don't mean to be a downer or anything but you do realize that PorchSong posted these exact same directions and they are a sticky in this forum?

well I think I specialized and babied the subject a bit more plus he sounds mean and his monkey is mean I can tell cause he looks like he would bite your face off and then tell how to adb push your corpse of the dock... jk porchsong I never saw your guide before now. Nice guide indeed.
I have installed this and also the flashable version. When I do a wipe install a ROM the wipe cache the ROM (I have tried 5 diff ones) never work. If
I do the darkside super wipe install rom then dark side cache wipe it works. I was under the impression that I didn't need to use those zip files

Converting tft to zip

Hey so I'm trying to convert the FTF file to a flashable zip using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849867 but once I go through the command prompt all seems to have gone well but I can find the system folder. Anyone have an Ideal of what I'm doing wrong? I would post on that thread but I don't have enough posts yet lol.... always seem to be able to find answers without posting... until now this phone lmao.

Another method is to take a backup using CWM recovery and then use the system.ext4 file created during backup.
Just unzip it, it will give you the complete data under /system.
This file is found under clockworkmod folder in the external sd card.
Damn why didn't I think of that thankyou! lol..... I've been using Rom toolbox to copy system folders into a different folder so I could take them off my phone lmao..... I shall continue my "brick a Sony" project tomorrow

Phone NOT BOOTING UP NEED HELP ASAP

So my friend brings me his gsm nexus and is not loading up stays stuck and loading Google screen but does nothing from there..... I asked him what he had done and he said he went into cwm since he was having problems with his phone and decide to format everything on it sdcard/system/ etc etc etc..... I never done something so stupid before lol So I really don't know how to help him...... any way to be able to flash a stock rom maybe via odin ? or stock anything to get the phone to boot up again ? any help is greatly appreciated....... I could boot it up in recovery mode but since sd card is empty I can't restore any roms or any backups since he seem to have deleted them all
well your friend formatted the /system directory so there is no rom on there. of course it wont boot up.
follow this to go back to stock: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626895
DO NOT USE ODIN.
also, tell your friend to leave the phone stock until he knows what he is doing.

Just trying to help a friend out or like you guys say me.... Just trying to fix a phone I was the one that rooted the phone for him... Just don't see the big deal..... this phone doesn't use external sd cards....
OP, you might want to uninstall the drivers you currently have for 'android 1.0' in device manager, reboot the computer and then try installing the new drivers.
Or use a tool kit to download a factory rom and flash it.
Edit: can't you mount the sdcard using cwm and copy a rom to the sdcard?

[Q] new computer-less flash method?

If I download a ROM using my phone, then using file explorer I copy and paste the zip from my downloads to the root of my phone, wouldnt I be able to go into twrp and flash it? It doesn't make since that the files would be any different if I did it this way as opposed to using a USB cable, but maybe there's something I'm not understanding? Has anyone tried this?
Yes you don't even have to move to root just navigate there in twrp

So I didn't come up with this? Lol I was all proud of myself cause I thought I came up with something useful :/ still seems too good to be true
Lol, no you haven't really made any special discovery. I often download ROMs using my phone to my SD card and install them on my friend's phones. Your computer has literally no part in the flashing process, you're just transferring a file like any other.

[Q] TWRP v500.. Stuck

I am trying to install twrp 2.6.3.0 using a one click method that I found to work for others. I am rooted and it appears everything should work but I keep getting this blinking prompt and the process does not move any further. In all the directions it says to just follow the multiple prompts but I can't seem to get past this. Does anyone know what this means or what I could be doing wrong? Anyone else hit the same speed bump?

That is an adb shell running under superuser on your tablet. There may be some script it wants you to run on the tablet. I personally am using CWM so I don't know all that much about TWRP (I didn't even put CWM on mine, I had a friend come over and help with that). So I know what that is but not why you have it or what you should do with it. Sorry.

Because nobody reads anything anymore. They just piecemeal together instructions from other devices and what they think will work and then cry and complain when it doesn't when they didn't follow instructions in the first place.
I will admit I did work all day and picked the v500 up the same day and just wanted to go home and have it just gel. Stayed up really late trying to put pieces together but for people unfamiliar with command prompts and such the "easy" methods can just come off as foreign. I used this post as a last resort. I appreciate people who create one click methods but if it wasn't for newbs then what would be the point of them at all? A guy has to start somewhere and learn as he goes.

I'm not sure what you want at this point. Did you go to the TWRP thread in the Original Android Development subforum? If so, find the link for TWRP 2.6.3.2 and download it to your PC. Move the file to your G Pad. Download the Flashify app from the Play Store. Open the app, and navigate to "Flash Recovery". Navigate to the file that you downloaded and flash it. That's it. And if you have more questions, ask them in the TWRP thread.
P.S., before you make any other significant changes to your device, please read through the forum. You'll save yourself some serious future pain.

Get Flashify and install it . http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2349847.
Then go here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2551499.
Download the apropriate file ( V50010a /b /c , depending of what version you have on you tab ) then you will have to rename the file to TWRP.img , then download http://goo.gl/UlPy11 wich is the flashable TWRP.ZIP.
Now copy those two files for you SD or externalSD.
Run flashify and select Recovery Image and use the file you renamed to TWRP.img and flash it,don´t reboot yet, select ZIP File and flash v500-TWRP_2.6.3.1-recovery.zip , wich the flashable zip you´ve downloaded second.
