Hi Folks,
Having some serious issues with my HTC One X
Upon recieving the device I left it on stock for a couple days and then flashed to ARHD 5.2 by unlocking the bootloader via HTCDev and flashed the rom, allwas awesome.. I have now since seen that yellow tea marks are appearing on one side of the screen, so I would like to return the handset to a stock state so that I may return under warranty.
Here is what I did:
Relocked the boot loader
Flashed stock recovery
This resulted in a security error and the phone refused to boot into anything but the boot loader...
almost identical to this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1649737
I have now solved this boot issue by reflashing the latest custom recovery, and the phone now boots into a nandroid backup that I have restored of the stock ROM.
I have tried to use several RUU's and they all halt after the reboot into bootloader phase (where it erases user data, writes the rom and then does something with signatures)...and the handset itself just stays on a black screen with a HTC logo and there are no progress bars or indication of things happening.. until the RUU errors with 155 (unknown error)
After looking at several threads I have become stuck and would really appreciate some advice
Here are the current details of my phone:
Sim free UK handset
HBOOT-0.94.0000
Radio-1.1204.104.14
CID - I have tried to gather this via fastboot, but it comes up as NONE
(also tried getprop ro.cid via the adb shell but this just errors)
Not sure if it makes any difference but I have also tried the HTC One X AIO Kit.. but any commands it sends error with indications that It cannot locate a device
Please please help

Where did you get the unit from originally? Was it branded?
This is why you should get the RUU BEFORE flahsing a new ROM

It was purchased from phones4u online.. the phone came unbranded, and is on a vodafone contract.
I am sorry about the RUU.. I wasnt aware it was something you had to acquire first..
You don't HAVE to get it first, it just means you don't have to panic about which one to use!!!
If it's unbranded then 1.29.401.7 or 1.29.401.11 will do the job (I'd go for .11)
Relock the bootloader and run the RUU when in fastboot and you should be good to go!

Thanks mate.. just waiting on the download slots and Ill grab it
Get it here, MUCH quicker
http://www.geeks0.com/downloads/mob...04.105.14_release_260491_signed_c9d22.exe.zip
RUU is in the ZIP file. No idea why it's been changed to lower case but it's the one I used and I maxed out my 8Mbps connection getting it

Spot on mate, I relocked the bootloader and the status reads "*** RELOCKED ***"
The RUU also ran perfectly, thanks for that
Would I just flash a stock recovery to restore the bootloader now? (so that it doesnt say RELOCKED)
I want to ensure that the phone is in the exact shape it needs to be before sending back.
Thanks again
It'll always say relocked - you can't do anything about that...
Ah thats a shame, should be a doorstep swap for a replacement handset anyways so thats probably no issue.
Thanks again mate, you have saved my bacon
-Run your RUU and wait for a complete load.
-go to windows>run and write: %temp%. Find a folder that contains a file called: rom.zip. Get the boot_signed.img and recovery_signed.img.
-flash boot_signed.img and recovery_signed.img.
-fastboot erase cache
-fastboot oem lock
-Do a factory reset with the new recovery.
-Now run your RUU and everything gonna be ok

OP has already got it done, just asked if you could change the bootloader to say 'LOCKED' as it does out the box as opposed to 'RELOCKED'
RUU
So I have kind of a problem, I wanted to unlock my bootloader, only HTCDEV servers are a couples of days now overloaded.
So I can't get the unlock code bin.
I need to use my phone and it won't start normally because new firmare was flashed in RUU mode with JBWFTOOL.
So I want to flash a stock RUU. Only my main version is 3.14.401.41.
My phone was repaired by HTC and I got it back LOCKED and well.
Can I flash a other version RUU or do I have to wait for HTCDEV becoming normal again.
HOX E11 Europe.
H.BOOT 1.39
3.14.401.41
I am not doomed right?
Are you sure.....you don't have 3.14.401.31 as a software number ?
Try this one
http://androidfiles.org/ruu/securek...Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_302015_signed.exe
Put the phone in the bootloader/fastboot usb mode and right click the ruu.exe and select
Run as adminstrator

Hey,
you should sign up to htc dev, then unlock your bootloader that way.
They explain everything easy, although HTC one X is not listed in the models, just use other supported devices. It works, i know cos i done it myself
goodluck!

You need to install the stock ROM, if you do:
fastboot getvar mainver
I think, and then you can find the RUU with the matching number and flash it.
Let us know what you get returned from fastboot command.
How to install stock Rom I think I have already install custom Rom, coz I have no vodafon logo or software, what is ruu? Actually I don't know anything about Rom and root. Plz help me..
i tried all the methods available on the site to root my htc wildfire. but nothing was helpful. finnaly i decided to use htc dev site and finally unlocked my bootloader. i rooted my phone with the help of unlockroot. but now my problem is that i cannot install cwm or any custom rom. following are the details of my device. please help.

HBOOT: 1.02.0000

Take the cwm recovery zip you have in pc49img.zip method and open it. There will be a recovery.IMG in it. Move this img to your adb folder and then open a cmd prompt there. Use the command fastboot flash recovery recovery.IMG and it will flash the recovery. The reason the pc49img.zip method fails is that it is disables when you unlock your bootloader so when you have a htcdev unlocked hboot you NEED to flash recovery using fastboot.
Also fastboot was added by the revolutionary team to the 1.01.0001 hboot when they had it and without it there would have been no fastboot commands for that hboot. The htcdev unlocked hboot will do fine but you will not be able to edit your mtd partitions or flash an ruu to the device while It is unlocked. You must relock for ruu.

battery issues...
hello guyz. now that i have installed cm7.2. i am loving my wildfire once again.
i am very much happy with its performance.
the only problem is the battery now. i can somehow manage to run the battery through entire day by charging it in between((about 10 hrs. with 100% charge)). but the problem is it drains out my entire battery during the night. every morning i wake up to see my phone switched off. is there any solution to this.
i have tweaked my processor to
min:352 mhz & max:710 mhz.
governor:interactive.

Switch to smartass v2 as the governor. And remember the higher the device o
Is over clocked that faster the battery will go. But most important is let the rom settle, battery life can go up and down a lot during the first few days. Give it a well on smartass and then if you need to drop your oc level and then charge the battery to full (leave it on the charge for 10 hours) then jump into recovery and wipe the battery stats.

Clock it to about 2xx min and 710 max, governor: ondemand, also, turn on jit (things will load slower but work faster), turn off surface dithering, enable 16 bit transparency, force enable scrolling cache, put vm heap size to 32m and finally, reboot the phone.
About ondemand governor.. It will clock the processor higher the heavier task you give it, that means, when the phone is in standby, it wont drain much battery because it will be clocked on the lowest setting as its not performing any tasks.

thanx anyways...
I have overclocked to 748-691(cant bear less than that)
with performance as governer. Yet 0% battery is used at night.
Here is what I do:
Turn on airplane mode.
Make brightness zero. Even lower it by screen filter.
Make sure wifi, bt, etc is OFF.
Additionally set up a profile with setcpu for night like 1xx-2xx with powersave governer to say 1:00hrs to 5:00 hrs.

Hi! Its been a while!
So i unrooted my phone a while ago but then i was bored so i decided to root it again!
I re-installed all the drivers, uninstall htc sync, and decided to root it via revolutionary method!
I entered the beta key and it finally said SUCCESS! It asked me to flash recovery and i types Y (yes) but it said failed to flash!
But then i noticed in the bootloader screen that nothing was changed. It didnt say REVOLUTIONARY in pink like it used to say before! There was S-OFF written but no revolutionary!
I decided to try to root it again! The same thing happened! It said SUCCESS but no REVOLUTIONARY written on top of the bootloader screen!
Then i decided to flash the recovery manually. I tried the fastboot method but when i entered the command it said:
READING
WRITING failed (remote: not allowed)
what is this? does this mean im not rooted.
But then i successfully flashed recovery via PC49IMG method and flashed a ROM without any problems!
I just want to ask is it okay if REVOLUTIONARY is not written on top of the bootloader screen?
Thnx in advance! =)

Its very strange to see. What is your hboot version at the moment? As long as you don't upgrade or downgrade your hboot s-off should stick, but you won't have access to the fastboot commands without the hacked hboot
Interesting case

HBOOT - 1.01.0001
RADIO - 3.35.20.10
What do you think?

All should be well pal, just ask long as you don't upgrade your bootloader you should be fine. You wont have access to fastboot commands though, but its not an issue

No....all is not well sadly! I've tested this 'unrevolutionized' rooted phone with 3 ROMs and noticed that the apps keeps on force closing on its own! Also, the battery life turns SOOOO CRAPPY that my phone turns into plug-and-play! =(
And once I unroot my phone, it works COMPLETELY fine!
So probably there is something im doing wrong! Any ideas?

Hmmm. It could be how the revolutionary exploit is done, I'm not sure what process they use and it could leave the stock hboot damaged I suppose. Not sure if I'm honest pal. Good to hear that a return to stock has has helped though!
