It Worked Perfect Night Before! Please Any Help =)

Try booting into hboot, volume up + power. If you can get that far, it should be simples.
Also, more info for couldn't hurt. ROM, kernel, inspire 4G or Desire HD, root?
There's two threads in my signature, post in them and resident Hardware/brick expert Glevitan will help you
If I helped, hit that thanks button!

You do what Guy said... Turn off the phone, the hold volume + power keys... After a few seconds it should show a white screen with colorful writing and the Android on a skateboard at the bottom. This is your hboot screen... I believe it's the interface with your bootloader, someone correct me if I'm wrong.
You can flash several different kinds of files from here to help you out of a jam or change things, such as the PD98IMG.zip that was mentioned earlier... This is just an "update" zip that hboot looks for on your SD card when it loads... I'm not that familiar with the process because I have never used it, but plenty of info is out there... The only thing I flashed from hboot was a custom splash screen.
Anyway, back on topic... What Guy was saying is that if you can get your phone to boot into hboot by turning it off and holding volume + power, then there are methods to try to get you back up and running.

[Q] Bricked htc desire

Hi all,
I'll give a quick outline here then go into more detail below if you need it. i've tried things suggested in the other bricked htc threads but none seem to work.
I've basically follwed the root guide at droiden, made a gold card and rooted my htc desire phone which went ok. problem was i then installed the suggested rom in the tutorial which was for an amoled screen but i 've got an slcd screen (i'm thick).
The upshot is my htc desire will only start up sometimes and when it does just goes to a loading screen with a bright colourful x then switches off. holding volume down and power or back and power doesn't bring up the boot menu or fast boot. i've tried to flash from one of the ruu.exe files but it just keeps saying my phone has less than 30% charge (it doesn't) and quits the ruu. Is there any way to recover my phone via another method? I've got the coldcard used to root the phone.
Many thanks
Detailed description
i've basically followed the guide to root here at droiden
and installed the rom here de frost rom it suggests.
rooted fine then i flashed the rom (the de_frost one suggested in the tutorial) - got stuck on a colourful X screen and now won't turn on. it'll only turn on if i connect to a pc and open unrevoked but then it just boots to the colourful x screen until it goes off and then i'm back to the begining.
going off that other thread it sounds like i've used the amoled rom when i've not got an amoled screen.
to make matters worse i've followed these two steps here in other threads on here which suggested a new ota or ruu. ota wais a broken link and with ruu.exe i get an error saying my battery is below 30% (it's not) and so it won't go any further.
are there any other options available to me to restore my phone bearing in mind that volume down and power doesn't bring up the boot screen (just white htc screen then colourful X screen) so i can't even do a hard reset that way. Not bothered about wiping the phone's memory just want to get it back so i can start from scratch with the right rom. i have the gold card used to root the phone.
any help appreciated - thanks.

Needs to be a gold card if your phone is network branded
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
ok i did it and it worked first time - it let me get to the boot screen but then after it rebooted it just won't switch on at all now.
any ideas?
Did you let it run till the phone booted?
Take the batt out for a min and pop back in and try. And also make sure you got a good charge
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
yeah it said it was rebooting but then never came back on. i'll give it a good charge and try again.
right it will now turn on everytime but won't go to the boot screen. Volume down power and back power just start it up and it sticks on the loading screen with the x for hours.

i'm not too sure. i bought the desire from ebay. it's an orange branded htc about 2/3 months old. i followed the root guide here (can't post full links as i'm a new member- just stick a www dot infront of)

ok for some reason after 24 hours of trying it will now let me go into the boot screen
for some reason i left the room and came back and it's working.
i've no idea what has happened.
it's completely debranded and rooted with a basic rom.
can someone advise me of a good stable rom which will work with a slcd screen?
many thanks
Best Rom I find is MIUI takes a bit to get used to but you will love it if you miss the clock just download fancy widget .. for the HTC clock and weather. just Google it and get the.apk

hmmm. can't download anything from the android marketplace. just says download unsuccessful.
for any who has the same problem - think it was a schoolboy error. when it sticks on the x screen the options must be in the background. press volume down then press power and it boots.

1- you can enter into recovery menu?
2- which is your current clockworkmod version? be careful and don´t do partition sd with previous CWM than 3.0.2.6 you can brick your device

i can't enter the recovery menu.
I don't know witch version it was. i just used the the newes relases from the leedroid page, and haven't done any changes to the preset.
So propably don't look good for me
Just to rule it out, remove the SD card then try starting the phone (turn it off first even you have to pull battery out).

Can you power on the phone?
When does the boot sequence stop?
Maybe this helps:
Performing a factory reset using phone buttons
If you cannot turn on your phone or access the phone settings, you can still perform a factory reset by using the buttons on the phone.
1. With the phone turned off, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then briefly press the POWER button.
2. Wait for the screen with the three Android images to appear, and then release the VOLUME DOWN button..
3. Press VOLUME DOWN to select CLEAR STORAGE, and then press POWER.
4. Press VOLUME UP to start the factory reset.

sry, i have to tell you that the clockworkmod recovery has formatted your nand-partition, what means that your phone is bricked.
as far as i remember there is no way to fix this.
you had to update your clockworkmod recovery before doing anything. you should´ve read the fat stickie in the android development section.
CWM had a bug which causes bricked phones, because it doesn't partition the sdcard, but the nand memory. this means hard brick.
sry bro.
EDIT: oh^^ just saw, someone posted a link already.
So what happened when you removed the SD card from the phone and tried turning the phone on? <<-- Ignore, I didn't see the bit where you said you'd tried it. Sorry.

Thanks Sergi, I didn't see that bit.
I agree, if you can't get to HBoot (hold down vol- and press power button) then it looks like it is bricked. But that would mean he used an older version of clockwork recovery and I don't know where it says to use an older version.
Summary: Bricked. Send away for repair. Just don't tell them what you were doing.
Can't he JTAG the unit and flash NAND that way?
How does HTC do it?

Touchpad-Fail; Software issue or motherboard?

Hey everyone!
Ok so heres the issue im in...i bought an htc to repair. the guy said the issue is he couldnt get it to turn on it turned on fine with me, but the touch wasnt working. Bootloader said Touchpanel- Fail. so i assumed this means its an LCD or digitizer problem! well i ended up getting another horrible HTC Evo, but one with a motherboard that works, just with broken usb. anyway, when i did this switch, surprisingly enough it worked, the touch was excellent, all ran perfectly!
So i guess the issue was neither LCD nor digitizer, so now it brings up a seperate question; software issue or motherboard issue?
if software i hold out hope that somehow id be able to fix it, expect the phone isnt rooted, so its with s-on and i cant so much as unlock the screen, and there is no custom recovery.
if motherboard, just let me know so i can give up.
Any and all help and advice appreciated!
Thanks!
~ Ramy
I would try and run a ruu on the phone and see if everything works after that. If it does work that means it was software related.
Support TrevE!
but see even ruus don't work, it errors out and says to get the right ruu, and on phone it says main is older....
It could be a bad motherboard it also could have been that the flex cables coming from the TSP/LCD were not fully connected, that being the issue you could see touch screen failure or a black screen when the device comes on. But from the sounds of it I think it might be bad software. Even though you've probably already thought about this I would suggest trying to do a full wipe and hard reset it.
ok but HOW? Without USB debugging I can't use adb with ruus I'm getting the aforemntiond error, and HTC does not have a stock recovery. Is there any other way to do it?

Again, this is an unrooted, s-off evo. HTC does not have a stock recovery, therefore pressing the recovery option takes me to the page with the triangle and exclamation mark.
I will respond with radio and hboot version soon, right now i gotta finish this preping for a test tomorrow ill let u know asap tho, thanks for your help so far all of you btw.

alright so i figured that part out thanks, i wiped and...nothing different...is it possible to flash an older update.zip or something to try and fix it? cause this just does factory restore, but if the drivers are messed up or something, restore wont do, reflash is needed...if i understand correctly..

[Q] htc marvel / wildfire s - think i bricked it...help?

Hi, ive been lurking on the xda forums for months, and have succesfully roooted and run darky rom on my galaxy s. then i got a wildfire s second hand.
Now i decided to try for s-off and a custom cwm rom. downloaded all the files read everything i could, and have managed to brick it i think.
Result if i press power or volume down + power i get a flickering screen, it flashes grey for 2 sec, black 2 sec. there is a faint red glow to the right of the front htc logo...where i thought the camera was lol.
i was trying to use the htcdev.com route. downloaded :
PG7610000_Marvel_hboot_1.09.0099_2.13.401.3_0210_R .exe
and tried but it said i needed an earlier rom before i could update.
2.13.401.3 to be exact so i downloaded:
RUU_Marvel_S_HTC_Europe_2.13.401.3_Radio_47.23c.35 .3037_7.54.39.28M_release_236989_signed.exe
which was hard to find and a pain to download...i ran this, it found my phone, gave me the usaul warnings, check battery etc, everything set so i told it go ahead, it ran for bout 7 or 8 minutes my phone went to a black screen with htc, did a progress bar then it said finished on the pc. left it for a few more minutes to be sure, then powered on my htc. screen starts flicking grey and white...
ive tried removing the battery, cant get into hboot, get no logos, no vibration, nothing.
sdcard has been removed and sim card.
usb cable inserted charges then goes to flickering screen. pc does not detect any android device connected...
this was last night. searched all the forums i know, googled, found one post similiar but no1 really helped him just told him to take back for warranty...
i live in south africa, dont know of any cellphone shops that can help me, please say its not a lost cause...
before attempting this my hboot was:
0.90.000
radio 7.46.35.08
s-on

Hello I'm no expert but I hope to try and help OK so you can turn the phone on, and it flickers and then the screen goes black? Does the phone remain on after the black screen? If so what is the longest you have left it?
Also when you tried to connect it to your PC did you try in *rom mode* or *hboot * mode?
If rom mode try in hboot mode and see if your PC can connect to it. If it can try to re-run the ruu and see if it brings it back to life.
It sounds to me like either the bootloader or your radio is ****ed. And neither are easy to fix. But report back with your findings and we'll take it from there good luck.

I had it running from the rom and running the ruu says device not connected now. Can't load into hboot anymore either...it flickers grey and black continuously and the longest is bout 7min I left it...I'm nt in a panic bt want to get it running for my gf and thanks for taking the time to try help

OK hold down the volume down + power for 10 seconds and then connect to the PC by USB and see if it shows up. And its cool man, always happy to help
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using xda premium
Holding volume and pressing power causes the flickering to start again...
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA
And does the PC connect to it? Because our only real hope, since your s-on is that by holding down power +volume down you can get the PC to connect to it and the see if fastboot is still functional, then run a ruu. If it cannot, you could try to take the ruu, remove the rom.zip from it, (run it on the PC with a process moniter, wait until it moves the file to the temporary folder and take it) rename to pg76img.zip put it on the sdcard, boot into hboot and wait for a bit, then push volume up and hope that it runs the update and fixes your screen. If that doesn't work then you have indeed bricked it.

[Q] HTC Desire HD, red triangle

Hey, i wanted to root my HTC Desire HD. I rooted it with Advanced Ace hack kit. All was ok, but when i reboot my phone, after i updated new ROM, i stuck on some red triangle logo. Ok, i readed, that i need to press/hold volume up + power button. I did. I was really angry and i wanted to get back my old HTC. I pressed Factory reset, but that not helped. Can someone help me by the steps and easyer language? Thats all i did. I dont know what is S-Off and other things, ive not installed.
Sorry for bad English and if there already is topick like this. Im from Latvia. Please, help me, its really good phone and new.
EDIT: really sorry. i thinked that this topicks is for Desire HD. Delete this thread, i already posted it in Desire HD topick.

You are stuck in a ruined system. Do a direct RUU flash. Happened to me before in my Desire (not HD)

Download a RUu file, which is an exe, containing stock from, boot loader, recovery....everything you need for a factory reset.
You go to boot of your phone, sorry cant recall exactly which section. Probably fast boot mode. Make sure you connect your USB cab and have driver installed.
Run the ruu.exe on your PC, it will guide you the rest.
