1- you can enter into recovery menu?
2- which is your current clockworkmod version? be careful and don´t do partition sd with previous CWM than 3.0.2.6 you can brick your device
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1043160.html
waiting for that you don´t did it!!
i can't enter the recovery menu.
I don't know witch version it was. i just used the the newes relases from the leedroid page, and haven't done any changes to the preset.
So propably don't look good for me
Just to rule it out, remove the SD card then try starting the phone (turn it off first even you have to pull battery out).

Can you power on the phone?
When does the boot sequence stop?
Maybe this helps:
Performing a factory reset using phone buttons
If you cannot turn on your phone or access the phone settings, you can still perform a factory reset by using the buttons on the phone.
1. With the phone turned off, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then briefly press the POWER button.
2. Wait for the screen with the three Android images to appear, and then release the VOLUME DOWN button..
3. Press VOLUME DOWN to select CLEAR STORAGE, and then press POWER.
4. Press VOLUME UP to start the factory reset.

sry, i have to tell you that the clockworkmod recovery has formatted your nand-partition, what means that your phone is bricked.
as far as i remember there is no way to fix this.
you had to update your clockworkmod recovery before doing anything. you should´ve read the fat stickie in the android development section.
CWM had a bug which causes bricked phones, because it doesn't partition the sdcard, but the nand memory. this means hard brick.
sry bro.
EDIT: oh^^ just saw, someone posted a link already.
So what happened when you removed the SD card from the phone and tried turning the phone on? <<-- Ignore, I didn't see the bit where you said you'd tried it. Sorry.

Thanks Sergi, I didn't see that bit.
I agree, if you can't get to HBoot (hold down vol- and press power button) then it looks like it is bricked. But that would mean he used an older version of clockwork recovery and I don't know where it says to use an older version.
Summary: Bricked. Send away for repair. Just don't tell them what you were doing.
Can't he JTAG the unit and flash NAND that way?
How does HTC do it?

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but I saw others posting their probles here too.
So I just had un-rooted my Desire and made it back to 2.2 from 2.3 when the phone had an available update. I downloaded the update and rebooted to install. While the phone was installing the update, I accidently removed the battery. When I try to boot the phone it's stuck on the HTC-logo. Is there any way to fix my phone?

Switch the phone off. hold power and volume down simultaneously. This should take you into the recovery menu.
use the volume down to move the cursor and pick recovery mode using the power button. you should then be able to flash a full ROM from there ... or recovery a previous nandroid backup if you have one. if you have no ROM on your SD card this menu should also allow you to mount your SD card for copying stuff onto it via USB.
Hopefully that should sort you
mind you .... did you say you "un-rooted" it ?? .... oh .....

A messed boot loader happens when you flash a Froyo RUU on a ROM shipped with Gingerbread. It was fixable, but with the retirement of AAHK and attn1's servers I'm not sire if it still is.
Can you get into the boot loader? If so, load a hboot image into hboot by renaming the zip to PD98IMG.zip and placing it into the root of your SD card, then put the SD back into your phone then hold volume down and power

If he has a messed bootloader and flashes a RUU, he will probably brick his device...quoting attn1:
"...Because mercifully, your miserable dumbass life will end before you see that RUU finish flashing. Please can someone PM me, I'll even pay you to help me!! I need a fresh pair of eyes and someone who knows what they're doing.

ok..you never install a PD98IMG file in recovery unless you want to mess your device. Boot the phone normally, go to menu>settings>power options and untick fastboot.
Then power off the device and turn it on by pressing power + volume down
Where's fast boot located in 4.2.2 ROMs

I don't have the "power options" option.
Nothing special happens when pressing power + volume down. It simply reacts to my pressing of the power button and offers me the usual shut down, reboot, silent, aeroplane mode etc.

You can use the adb to reboot to bootloader. Just go to terminal, cmd whatever, type "adb reboot bootloader".. And you can flash radio using fastboot command.. But you need to be s-off.. I am not sure whether it is possible to flash radio using shipped hboot. I think it is possible. But better to wait for glevitan to clear things up. :good:

My advice is that you fix the volume rocker first. If you get stuck flashing a radio and your rocker is messed...then you might get stuck in the splash screen...
It broke a while ago. I bought a new rocker and glued it on. The glue set and stuck, disabling the up volume button only. I won't be able to fix this now I've ruined it!
Ok guys, I definitively need your help now.
This morning I woke up, i toke my phone (already on) and I saw that keyboard didn't work anymore, so I rebooted it and appeared the white screen with HTC LOGO, then three or four vibrations and BUM... FREEZED.
The phone is rooted, with custom rom. S-OFF.
The problem is that i can't enter into RECOVERY of the phone anymore, but I can still enter into BOOTLOADER. I tried to do a FACTORY RESET, but doesn't work (the display show again the htc logo with some vibrations before the freeze).
There is some way to format/repair with the help of PC ? Like when i changed my RADIO some weeks ago... or.. I don't know.
Thanks.

That sounds like a fried motherboard. Try flashing a RUU from fastboot usb. If after the flashing the phone keeps not booting, then your motherboard needs to be replaced.
If you need help with the flashing read the guide in my signature to find out how to perform that stuff. :victory:

Hello there!
I have never posted on XDA and I hope this is the right section.
So here it is guys:
I have recently installed the KitKang ROM from a tutorial on this forum (XDA LINK) for a friend of mine on his HTC Desire ...
Now whilst the phone was in perfect running order, I even managed to create an EXT partition for apps on the SD card and installed a2sd, worked like a dream for a few days ... when he was watching youtube one day the phone rebooted and since then only boots into HBOOT, the volume keys do not work to navigate, the power button does nothing, I can't even get into recovery mode.
I have spent 3-4 hours carefully reading forum posts and tried everything ... nothing works as the phone is not even being recognized when plugged in to the PC with USB.
This is the troubleshooting guide I used along with many others! LINK
I've tried my best to resolve this problem and NOTHING is working
I only get the white HBOOT screen and everything else is unresponsive (tried putting the Alpharev img on the SD, that doesn't work either).
JUST TO RECAP:
- No recovery available
- Unresponsive HBOOT
- Phone does not work with USB (only charges)
Can someone please assist me, I will be very grateful!
Info:

HBOOT-6.93.1002
MICROP-051d

I am not a complete noob when it comes to android but not very advanced yet.
I just want the phone to go back to stock or any other STABLE ROM.
Thank you very much for all your help in advance.

I just tried that now but nothing happens, it boots straight into HBOOT and it is still unresponsive, my computer still doesn't recognize the phone. Tried different ports and cables too... have you got any other suggestions? Maybe there is something I'm doing wrong.

Make sure the PB99IMG.zip file is on the root of ur sdcard (not inside a folder) thats prob why u get the errors in green writing

No, i put it on the root or my sd card, i know what the root directory is. It is simply not responding to anything. -_-

Strange it should detect it even if it won't properly flash. Double check:
It's named:
- "PB99IMG.zip" exactly, think it even requires all upper case.
- not "PB99IMG.zip.zip".
I don't mean to sound insulting with the second one, but I've seen it done
Hey, thanks for your reply. Unfortunately the phone doesn't detect the file, I am 100% sure. What ill do is get another sd card, maybe my one is corrupted somehow.

Okay, I have gone a bit further than last time, I have somewhat better results, changed the SD card and the image loaded.
Now I am stuck on this (Please see the attached image)
The phone does not go any further and I cannot navigate through this list if I am even supposed to be able to do that.

Can't figure this out to be honest.
When you boot into bootloader with the PB99IMG.zip image, it should do a scan, then find it.
Then it should give you the option 'do you want to flash it?' or something like that, press power to select I think. Was so long ago since I had to do this myself. Does it resemble anything like this?
Make sure u put the zip in the root of sd.

@lilsafbig - dude, it has already found the file and loaded it.
@eddiehk6 - nah man, it's giving me options like on the other image after loading the file, which it never did before i tried the new sd card. Its strange, none of the physicall buttons work in this stupid HBOOT.

Did u check the MD5sum of the file? Cant really think of why it reads it then not let u choose to flash it.
Yes I did. Everything is fine with the file. I dont get it either ... I started suspecting the buttons being broken ... but it doesnt explain why the phone turns on yet cant use the power button to select any options. The volume buttons do not function at all. I get into HBOOT just by pressing the ON button and then it turns on.

I had the same problem and what i did was first flashed in fastboot mode the "alpha jelly", try to search on that because thats the requirement on flashing kitkang and i flashed another recovery using fastboot mode. What i flashed is the latest CWM and them go recovery then flashed the 4.4.2 rom. and it worked for me. it should for you too.
