Hi everyone I want to thank you for looking at my post ahead of time, as this problem has stumped me entirely.
So I have gingerbread-evo-deck-1.3.zip
which is the latest evo-deck rom and I have checked the md5 sums and they match. This rom was working fine until all of a sudden the microphone seems not to work. Voice recognition will not detect my voice and no one can hear me whether I call them or they call me.
I tried unrooting and reverting back to stock and then my microphone was working fine.
Any ideas? The microphone works fine when on the stock rom, it only acts up when I install evo-deck-1.3. I am not using any custom kernel and the only other zip I flash is the gapps w/ voicemail zip and this md5 matches as well.

Try flashing another ROM
besides the stock ROM
That should confirm that its
Not your phone lol
Your phone may not like Decks
But you never know
Strange...

What is strange is that evo-deck was working fine until just yesterday. I might just warranty exchange my phone. Evo-Deck had the best battery life id ever seen on the evo.
I also noticed that Tiamat bricked my last phone. Maybe I just dont have good luck with AOSP roms.
I just flashed Fresh Evo, and my microphone is still not working. That is REALLY strange as it was working fine. Also, please note that it does work fine unrooted and on the stock rom.

Yeah that is pretty weird I'm outta options just cuz the fact that its never happen to me before sucks Bro sorry
Yeah guess i have to stick to unrooted stock as even rooted stock gives me problems with the microphone. Oh well, for every winner there has to be a loser.
!
I just wanted to update this thread, there was a dead microphone on my phone. It was NOT the rom itself. I apologize if this scared anyone.
Thank you XDA, developers, and everyone else!
For sure glad you got it fixed

Ok so i keep getting force closes when i receive a call and try to answer it. Iv wiped everything restored it back to last ROM then reflashed it and this didnt fix it? Anyone plz help!
1.12.9 was the last stable one, re-flash that. You should only have to wipe cache/dalvik, that's all I did when I restored.
In case you need it...
http://roms.miui.us/supersonic/MIUI.us_supersonic_1.12.9_Eng_Deo_ZipA_Signed_naerok.zip
Thats why I had to switch from MIUI It was working fine at first but all the sudden FC's all the time and if I flash the latest I still get those issues :/ I think it has to do with the new UI they are adding, and you need to make sure you are using radios that are compatible with MIUI itself. and you might have even got a bad download link so try another time wipe and flash and see what happends let us know!
There were CDMA issues after 1.12.9, they're resolved but I doubt we'll see updates until MIUI ICS.

The best one I had was Cm7 very stable and fast rom.
Guys, this issue with MIUI builds 1.12.23 and 1.12.30 are VERY well known and have been talked about over and over. There are links to older and newer builds in the MIUI thread in the Dev section AND on MIUI.us.....
Jeez. a little searching won't kill you, ya know....
Cm7 didn't work well at all for me. Apps would force close left, and right. Swagged out rom worked pretty well for me. MIUI is working well but force closes on incoming calls. Trying to decide what to try next.

Holy mother of God, even in this thread it's mentioned that the newest MIUI build on the d/l page is broken and you have to use 1.12.9 or 2.1.3, both of which are posted over and over in the MIUI thread in the dev section AND on MIUI.us

if your phone.apk doesn't have permissions to run that will happen.
Hey guys, I'm just wondering if anyone else has had problems with their wifi not wanting to turn on,
I've switched roms, I've went back to factory. Everything i can think of. So If anyone has some experience with this,
Or ANY clue whats wrong, Please let me know.
Thanks!
Why don't you tell us exactly what did you did when it stopped working
Nothing really, Just normal use on Stock when poof it didnt work anymore. I rooted and used custom kernels/roms to
try and get it back working. But it hasnt worked yet. I think It may have been after an OTA update from ATT. But that shouldnt linger after a full wipe, would it?
reboot your modem and router at home..
That Didnt work, It doesnt work on any wifi network. The phones wifi will not enable.
what does your baseband say?
Baseband is I317UCAMC3
ok, that is ok...what rom and kernel are you on?
Rootbox's 4.2.2 Rom with its default kernel. But this issue started happening on Stock, non rooted. And has persisted all the way through 3 different roms so far.
Ok, this is supposed to be only for the gt-n7100 version but it sounds real familiar and if it's a bug in jelly bean it could be your problem. Either way it shouldn't hurt to try.

Since we do not have a stock UCAMA3 Build to flash via odin, what build are you flashing to return the stock build ??
Are you downgrading and taking the update ??
We need more information..... as a step is missing I believe. ..g
I have reverted back to stockorama with stock kernal..I upgraded from Wicked-- Any other rom that I have tried including Illusion, paranoid,cm 4.2 etc I get garbled voice calls.
This does not happen all the time. I tried updating radio. This has been going on for months.
Any suggestions?
My next thought is to install paranoid and start trying other kernals. can i use stock with paranoid android?
Others have been having this issue but cant find an answer. I thought by installing stable CM the phone would work but still has this issue.
Im at my wits end as I want to use another rom and get clear calls.
thanks

I had this same problem on Dandroid when I was using the Faux kernel. It would also make my speaker crackly when playing music. Haven't had the problem since I reflashed the rom and left it with the stock kernel

tried seraching, I guess my wording just wasn't right or maybe Im the only one (doubt it) I rebooted / battery pulled no luck, I tried going back to stock rom so I could update prl, no good it kept giving errors when reloading, when it finally did boot into stock it would freeze a second after loading up. Soooo.. restored back to my backed up 10.1.2 and still no good, I can receive txt via google voice AND mms via stock txt app, but no txt through stock app and no incoming calls.. outgoing is fine... anyone got any ideas ?? IF I were to reload my phone to factory though Kies would that make me loose root and all I have done or can I do that.. update prl then rom manager back to saved 10.1.2 ? I am currently downlaoding 10.2 but I don't think thats gonna help.....
THANK YOU!!!

I have not yet... the update to 10.2 screwed up and ( opr I screwed it up ) and when I tried rebooting back to 1.2 it lost everything like I never had anything setup.. even titanium can't find by backups.. Im gonna try and clean phone out completly and start from scratch... do you know if I should use Kies? or search another way ?? I just don't wanna do the first thing I read and ruin anything...
Well, were you on 4.1.2 before you tried to go to CM 10.2?
Its important to know whether you were on 4.1.2 or had upgraded to 4.3 using the update sprint sent out.
Never did sprint update. Never asked me to. Thats why I wanted to goto stock, update, then do 10.2 but my stock won;t let me load, tried again last night, just errors. Before end of day I am going to verify drop box has my pics and stuff in my internal sd and intend on doing a hard reset, or wipe or watever and start fresh. I am just curios if root will be lost not that that is a huge deal, but when I first rooted it took me quite a bit of tries.
