[Q] robotic voice calls garbled calls - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

I have reverted back to stockorama with stock kernal..I upgraded from Wicked-- Any other rom that I have tried including Illusion, paranoid,cm 4.2 etc I get garbled voice calls.
This does not happen all the time. I tried updating radio. This has been going on for months.
Any suggestions?
My next thought is to install paranoid and start trying other kernals. can i use stock with paranoid android?
Others have been having this issue but cant find an answer. I thought by installing stable CM the phone would work but still has this issue.
Im at my wits end as I want to use another rom and get clear calls.
thanks

I had this same problem on Dandroid when I was using the Faux kernel. It would also make my speaker crackly when playing music. Haven't had the problem since I reflashed the rom and left it with the stock kernel

[Q] Microphone stops working with latest roms

Right now my G2 is running Cyanogenmod-7.1.0 RC1. For the last few months any time I try to update past this version of the rom I lose my microphone. It works absolutely fine with 7.1 but when I go to 7.2 it breaks. For example, When I am on a call I can hear the other person but it is silent on my end. Voice recording programs do not work either, all that it records is a low level of static noise.
I have also tried CM9 and audacity beta4 with the exact same results. When I flash my phone back to 7.1 everything is fine.
Is there some way that I can flash just the old microphone drivers onto the new roms? I am competent enough to follow instructions but not enough to start breaking builds apart for the individual pieces so I don't know where to start.
I have always done a full wipe on everything before I flash.
Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you!
Currently I am running:
Radio: 12.52.60.25U_26.08.04.30_M3
Kernal: [email protected] #1
Mod: Cyanogenmod-7.1.0 RC1 vision
Build number: GRJ22
a
Didn't try any of those,
but this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1492461
works great on my HTC Desire Z with absolutely no issues
It does take a bit of customizing.
I've tried that rom as well but have a whole different issue with that one for some reason. I flash it and then start to reboot and once the phone gets to the white htc screen it freezes with a few horizontal lines running across it. I have to pull the battery and then flash back to my older rom. I have no idea what is going wrong there.
Here might be a dumb question...
Would it help to flash a new kernal? Are the appropriate kernals included in the roms already?

Hi! Do you solve your problem? I have the same thing there. All the CM roms above 7.0.3 not working with microphone. Do you have still the Cyanogenmod-7.1.0 RC1 file rom and can you upload for me?
Thank you!

no in/out texts or inc. calls after cm9 rc1 install

I've searched, so please forgive me if there's something similar. I've found nothing that solves my issue. I have freshly installed cm9 a couple days ago, and then shortly after upgraded to 10. That is where my woes began. Friends and fam started telling me that my phone would ring onced and straight to vm. I get texts in huge batches, a lot of repeats, and very unreliably. I've installed a few other different roms and kernels to no avail. And yes I've wiped everything, every time. My 3g/4g/wifi are fine.. just texts and calls messed up. What's happeninggg =[[[[. Is my radio corrupted or something? How can I fix this?
First: This is a support question and should have been posted in the Q/A forum.
Second: You should probably not install the RC of CM9, since CM9 is now stable and has an official release. http://get.cm/?device=epicmtd&type=stable
Third: Before flashing CM, use Odin to go back to stock and test out SMS, MMS and calls. If all works well, then you can Odin flash CWM, pull the battery, 3-finger boot to CWM and then flash CM9 stable.
If testing SMS, MMS and calls do not work properly on stock, then you need to go to a Sprint store and get them to fix it. Just leave it on the stock rom to bring it in.

Flash roms - calls wont send

Anytime I flash a non touchwiz based rom my phone will not make calls. When I call someone it says that it is dialing but never rings on either end; it won't even call voicemail. Data works fine.
The ROMs I have tried with are Illusion, Revolt, and a couple more I can't remember. I can't find any documentation about the issue on either of the ROMs pages.
I use twrp and wipe cache, dalvik, system and data before installing. The only one I have found to be working is very close to a straight cm compile. I like it, but I really want illusion. I even installed illusion on my brother's jftetmo and he had the same issue.
What am I missing? I have searched high and low for an answer with no luck. Someone point me in the right direction please.
I'd try using clockworkmod. Also, i'd try flashing a different aosp rom with more frequent updates like a cyanogen nightly.

Rooted, flashed CM11, not receiving texts

Hi all,
I recently rooted my SPH-l710 that was updated to 4.3 using this method: http://honai-android.blogspot.com/2013/11/how-to-root-galaxy-s3-sprint-sph-l710.html
Everything worked well and then I flashed the CM11 ROM (snapshot) and again, everything was working well, I could make calls, send and receive text messages and had mobile data. This afternoon, I found out that I had not been receiving text messages, I could send them and people received them, but when they replied, they never came) through on my end. I rebooted, nothing changed, then I did a factory data reset, again, same issue. Then I flashed this stock ROM (deodexed): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541900 and still had the issue. After installing the stock ROM, I updated the PRL profile and I'm still having the issue. At this point, I have no idea what else I can do the fix this issue and I'm hoping someone here can help me.
Thanks in advance.
Did u try reflashing the modem? If that doesn't work its something on sprints end.

I'm shocked that root method even worked for you...did you update your profile as well and then reboot the phone when on stock rom? might wanna get back on the stock rom and try...other things you may wanna try when all else fails, reflash back to completely stock 4.3 which you can do by using my guide in my sig for bricked phones, which you're gonna need to do if you have to go to sprint for it, they won't touch it rooted
I did not try flashing modem, I was under the impression that the modem deals with data and since I had no problems there I didn't bother with it. I did try rebooting after going back to stock rom, but that didn't help. When I first installed cm11 I was having problems with getting Google Voice to work, but I restored the back up a CM 11 when I first installed it and tried google voice again. This time it works and I'm able to send and receive text messages and access voicemail through the app so as long as I don't come across any more issues I'm happy with how it is now. I appreciate all the pointers and if I ever have to go back to stock, I'll refer to this post, thanks.

Call drop (signal disappear) on incoming calls on 4.4

Just today i found out this problem. Whenever someone calls me from outside i get the error 'com.android.phone has stopped working' and the tower completely disappears. On my phone there is neither any call received or missed record after this. On the other end i just hear couple of rings before it starts beeping (sign of call disconnect).
Am on android 4.4.2 (Beanstalk). If i think about it then this has been happening even before too (other 4.4 roms) but only today i realized that its because of the incoming calls. Outgoing calls is fine. No tower disappearance, nothing.
WHY on 4.4. Please someone help......
Okay.... Figured out what happened. Here is what i did to mess things up,
1. Dirty flash over Omni Rom (Currently beanstalk).
2. Use Titanium Backup to restore system settings data.
Now i did a complete clean install and things are okay....
Yeah its kinda weird to dirty flash 2 completely different roms

'Completely' different? How? Both are Kitkat so any app or data restored from a previous rom shouldnt be any problem. I think the real culprit is Titanium as it probably had data dating back to my sense roms.
You flash beanstalk over omnirom......mandatory rule when you switch to another rom is to full wipe the phone ! I'm not talking about restoring data.....you say you dirty flashed 2 roms. They are all different even if they are kitkat roms. There are many sense 5 roms but also all different.
Never dirty flash 2 different roms over each other it's waiting for trouble ! That's about written everywhere....
Like 2 different cars with the same color.....parts won't fit
