[Q] Omega? - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Hi! I am really interested on the ''omega'' rom, and i want to install it. the problem is, that i have a question for installing it.
Can i install it just with like, ''es file viewer" ?
Or do i install it, like with flash on recovery mode?

Where is this ROM? Don't flash a thing yet! Link us the ROM.

OP, you are so lucky you decided to ask us before flashing.
i believe the ROM you are trying to flash is this one here.
assuming that you have a T-Mobile Galaxy S III SGH-T999...
this ROM is meant for the International Galaxy S III GT-I9300.
if you flash this ROM on your device, your device will brick, and you'll be stuck with a $600 paperweight.

i got confused, lol. it's only for the international version, sadly. do you know any roms, that are similar to this one, or a really, really, good rom? right now i have the illusion and it's great, but i want one like omega.

Look in my resource guide and read some more man. You need to read more to prevent from making more mistakes.

Like already stated, you need to read more about this whole process. The fact that you even asked if you can flash a ROM through a file manager says that you shouldn't be flashing yet.

He needed to be walked through flashing Illusion through PMs (lol) from me, after giving him 2 links and being told what to do in a thread he made... I pray for his phone. Please please read more for 600$ sake.

get the galaxy s3 tool kit you can use that to root your phone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746682
You can root a phone with the ROM that's already on the phone. Installing a custom ROM is optional.

Exactly.
When you root your phone, you simply root the phone, which means that you've got super permissions and a recovery on it.
But, just for some advice, if you want the stock ROM I suggest you install a custom version. The custom stock ROM will be optimized to give you better performance.
Give me a holler if you still don't understand anything. Better yet, why do you want to root your phone? This might get to the bottom of your mission.
By the way, for the future, this would belong in the Questions section. If you were taking a poll or asking a question for conversation, then it would be fine here. But, something technical like this is for Questions section.

[Q] I want Tmobile ROM on GT-I9505

Hi, I am totally a newbie for this. I have got Galaxy S4, which is GT-I9505 but then I would like to have T-mobile ROM running on it. How far is it possible??? If so can you please guide me through each steps. Also please give me the dis advantages of having Tmobile ROM on GT-I9505. Thanks in Advance.
The rom which you want to flash, that version should match your mobile version. If you want to flash tmobile version of rom, you may hard brick your device.
Hit thanks if you think i sabed your device

type your mobile name and the carrier on which you are. and the name of the rom you want!
if you want some other unofficial roms, then make sure they are supported by your carrier device. ask the developer of that rom about this. plz click thanks insted of saying!
:laugh::good:
Basically take whatever ROM you want from the i9505 and flash it via CWM or any custom recovery, but NOT via Odin; this is due that Odin flashables usually include the i9505 modem... It won't brick your device, but you will be left without a signal.
Btw, make sure you flash a Samsung based T Mobile kernel (original, faux etc) AFTER flashing the ROM you want. Otherwise you could have a potential soft brick in your hands .
To wrap it up, it's :
1- Flash rom of choice via custom recover, not Odin
2- Flash T Mobile, Samsung based kernel via custom recovery.
3- Enjoy!

You can safely flash any of the Tmobile S4 Touchwiz Jellybean 4.2.2 cwm/twrp flashable custom roms.
The Wicked and the Darthstalker roms both work fine on the i9505 Galaxy S4 phone.
You can find both of these excellent custom roms in the "T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4 Android Development" threads.
Both of these roms are based on the latest M919UVUAMDL firmware.
If you want more information and details about these roms you can find it in their threads here in xda.
Always do a full wipe including Factory Reset, Wipe System, Wipe Cache and Wipe Dalvik Cache before flashing.
Be sure to make a nandroid backup before flashing any roms.
Good luck!

You only need to sign up to download links, no need to pay or anything.
Anyway, here is the link provided :
https://hotfile.com/dl/230576652/80088bb/I747MVLDMF1_I747MOYBDMF1_TLS.zip.html
BTW, do you know how to apply this update if I'm rooted and don't want to loose it? I'd also love not to reinstall everything, is it possible?

Download the appropriate Odin firmware from the link in the first post. (you gotta have a SamMobile account)
Flash using Odin, like you did to originally root your S3. (Assuming that was your root method)
Though i'm almost certain your root privileges will be gone.
OR
Wait until someone creates a flashable .zip, and then flash in Recovery.

I have no idea how this works, but correct me if I'm wrong. I'm rooted with a custom recovery. Can In download this and flash it through Odin? Will it work even though i'd lose the custom recovery and root?
No, the ROM version and the modem version don't have to be the same or in sync. But don't cross flash modem firmware, i.e. flash i747M to i747 or vice versa, you can brick your phone.

I sure can, Sadly though the build isn't working correctly as I wasn't able to extract the META-INF folder
properly, and I was a [email protected] and used the META-INF from the MVLDLK4 build.

Eventually
Installed 4.1.2 (stock) sd card not recognized (fixed)
So I tired OTA, well that didn't work, server probably busy so I went and fired up Kies and got the update that way.... while I was looking for what changed I noticed the SD card wasn't mounted... nor would it mount. So I popped it into the computer, sure enough everything was still there.. back to s3... nothing.... back to the computer again... check the format.. yep fat32.... back to s3 nothing....popped an old card in and it recognized it.... take that one out, put in the one it couldn't read before... and there it is.... weird right? Now it works fine...

In stock form, yes and no. The Rom would probably run, but the Canadian modem will most likely destroy your imei.
I got it running good aside from not having the correct basband and no data.. hope someone can suggest something so I can get this amazing rom running properly.

(test) ATT rom on m919

Hello all. I know this isn't a port..deal with it..ha
Finally some time to make a new thread.
I flashed goldeneye 4.4.2 rom from the ATT section
After flashing I cleared cache and dalvik cache...then flashed
Ktoon 4.4.2 tmo kernel.
I have no issues...
Wifi works...no force close with security...All good
Rom - http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407576459
Kernel - http://goo.gl/5mPtNj
Your welcome
Um you might want to delete this. First, it's not a port...Second The goldeneye rom works on the I9505 t mobile and att models. As do most I9505 roms. If you chose to keep this post put your flame suit on.

Yeah I know I got the same response in another thread...it works for me without the new bootloader and modem that 9505 requires for the rom to work and the one in the t mobile section doesn't work properly. ..I don't really care if this gets deleted I just wanted to share in case people can use it. At least until the official tmo rom comes out.

I think the att and the i9505 is the same rom. No bootloader needed and the same built in karnel.
Instead of falsifying the thread title, op could of made a tutorial or something about his findings or tips when flashing another carrier custom rom, etc.
Moved to general and title changed, no matter what you flash, you are always taking a chance regardless...

Warning!!! Don't flash non sprint roms

Many users here on the note 2 know me and use my roms or I have helped with their problems. A couple days a user posted in on of my rom threads that galaxynote2root.com has a guide on how to flash verizon roms on sprint device.
NEVER DO THIS!!!!
I ask for him to please remove the post and thought nothing else about it. Then I see a new user posted a need for help. He tried following the guide So now I am making a post to hopefully stop users from doing this. I have ported over a verizon rom already the S5-FEAT and please take it from me it is not as simple as changing the apns. While 98% of both devices are the same there is also a major difference.
All Sprint devices use a special partition called carrier that is located at mccblk0p16. This is the same location that ALL other note 2's use for their data partition. So if you flash any rom/kernel besides one for sprint you will have problems. First is that the install script will try to install to the wrong partition overwriting your carrier info. Then the install will fail due to lack of room. Now your stuck with a messed up device.
Now for those who just say "Well I can modify the install script" I warn you that it takes much more than that. As I stated I havce ported over one verizon rom so I know from experience that it is not a simple thing.
SO PLEASE NEVER TRY FLASHING ANY NON SPRINT ROM!!!!!

Well of course it is a port so is no longer a non sprint ROM. This thread was created because for a little bit galaxynote2root.com was stating you could use Verizon ROMs by only changing the APN.
