Err, I may have messed up. - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Had my E4GT for a while now, came with FF18 2.3.6, then did the OTA 4.0.4 FL27, then went through FL24. Then I got sick of waiting for JB, so I threw GA10 4.1.2.
I messed up, because I Rooted, installed AGAT, then flashed the ROM on the phone. However, when I flashed either the ROOT or Recovery, the modem or something got messed up.
The phone will freeze, and reset if 4G or 3G radio is on. So my question is, what did I do wrong? And how can I fix it.

Well first off FF18 was 4.0.4 not 2.3.6. FL27 is JB and not OTA that was FL24. Anyway, what modem are you running at the moment?

I don't know what my modem is. I'm going to try to turn 3G and 4G off fast enough before my phone freezez to confirm it's not 2G as well.
How do I check? As it sits, it has OTA FL24 4.0.4 + ROOT and AGAT recovery.

Alright, I turned off 3G and 4G. it still freezez and resets. So I assume I have to flash my modem? If so, how? ( have Desktop ODIN, which I assume is what I need.)
My goal ATM is to revert back to stock/OTA 2.3.6. I don't like ICS, and GA10 has HORRID battery life.

If you want to go back to GingerBread then go to this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1903252
That will take you to the stock ROM repository where you can find every ROM official and leaked if I'm not mistaken.... You'll probably want EL29 so just find it there and download the version you want to use i.e one click, zip etc..

It is. My main reason for wanting GB again is I think GB was fantastic. Sure it's not JB, but it combined solid performance, with good battery life.
ICS is buggy, GA10 gets horrid battery life. 2.3.6 works....

Absolutely. Just when it starts up, it works fine for about 10-15 seconds then freezes. GA10 didn't do this. This freezing only happened when I had the root and AGAt on it (I messed up one of these, and I assume it's modem issues?)
IF so, if I flash the EL29 package with the modem, it should fix my problem?
Also, it doesn't really matter...but will it make the yellow triangle and ODIN flash count go away?

Alright, it's all back to FL29 stock. (I swear, it's about as fast as Jb...)
Now I'll just be happy with it..
I tried AOKP 4.1.1, which ran HOT and had many issues (For me)
Then I tried AOSP 4.1.1 Alpha 6 (Fantastic, but horrid battery life)
GA10 (Best I've tried, but horrid battery life)
2.3.6 OTA is my favorite so far.
Yellow triangle is gone... XD

Battery! :) sprint OTA update to Gingerbread EK02

The Galaxy s 2 Epic 4g touch sprint OTA update to Gingerbread EK02 tweaked the battery and kernel like no other. wow.. I advise people revert to stock via odin and just get the OTA.. it updates when it reboots and then says there's an error with the yellow triangle but simply reboot your phone again.

Facepalm...
You used the wrong tar, when you updated, the update failed (hence the yellow explanation point). No worries, head over to the dev section and Odin the modem only in phone. Odin the EG30 modem then flash the ek02 modem in RECOVERY. Or since eg31 is working for you, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Of course when you flash with Odin it flashed the modem with it. So he's not mistaken'd.
The only way you can get an ICS radio to work with GB is if they modified it and removed the ICS RIL files in the modem and vice versa for ICS radio's to work on GB which most of the Dev's did in their ROM selection. That's why you see modified modem in their OP's at times.
I had ics on my telus phone and proceeded to restore my phone due to issues and when I rebooted I was running gingerbread.
So loaded up kies to do a update to ics and said I couldn't so i took a look and was running lle4 in gingerbread and everything ran fine.
I had to manually upgrade go ics through cwm after

lol You can odin to anything because stock odins carry ROM kernel modem and recovery...
However if you RESTORE from a BACKUP it may or may not give you problems. depends if the radio is modified or not.

according to most the best this is the modem in this leak, there are some minor additions such as the customization that is available in the S3 in mobile data that allows for the best available connection both Wifi and Data(3G/4G), scrolling seems to be better and also on the dialer the contacts have been put back, i am experiencing slow charge though, i flashed agat's latest kernel and also placebo 2.0 right off the bat before i decided to start bat cycle's :cyclops:
I could care less, but task manager bug is still there too.
Scrolling and overall snapiness is great though making ics feel much better on this phone. The wifi bug is annoying enough but with regular leaks I can live with it until the next one.

That is only if you do a data wipe. It will hang on boot if you wipe data or factory reset from settings. Does that on his FH13 and FH23 repacks. His other kernels have worked fine for data wiping.

Ahh... I'm still a little wary of using anything to wipe unless it's been made safe at the kernel - so I fall back to Agat's FF18 recompile/recovery since I know that's safe. But I flashed another zip without wiping on FH23 repack and that seemed OK.
