Best ROM??? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Hey guys I haven't been here for more than two weeks so I don't really know how development has gone. There are way too many ROMs to try out so can I get someone's serious opinion on what the best one is? Thanks in advance guys.

It's all personal preference, each ROM has it's pros and cons no matter which time you so happen to be comparing them. There is also the argument between choosing TouchWiz based or Vanilla ROMs... the list goes on.
Your best bet if you really don't have time for flashing several ROMs is to read the last posts of each ROM thread to see the feedback it's getting, whether it be good or bad comments... then you can just compare from there.
If you want my suggestion for a good solid ROM, read what's in my signature. Good luck choosing a ROM!

I prefer charmeleon for its lot of tweaks and battery life.
Yes, i have it flashed at the moment, thinking about switching though
hard to say which ROM is the best one.
I'd say Villain or Charmeleon. But most likely you'll get as many answer as many ROMs out there
Haha yeh, i really like roms that are really customizable though!
You should try one of the cyanogenmod/AOKP based roms that are available. I usually find them faster/better battery life since they don't have HTC's sense stuff.

Will hit them up, thanks
Pkmn for reasons unknown give me massive battery drain for no reason even after a few charge cycles I'm using leedroid just because on mine it gives me.better battery life 11+ hours with 4 hours screen time.

MIUI for me using the RomAur version because its rebased on the 1.29. I dont like sense or any of the launchers on the ASOP/AKOP type roms, plus I love the theme's available for it.
Thread closing soon. OP just try the roms mate. You are the only one that can decide this. Or just search. Many threads like yours with people asking the same thing. Search is your friend. And Google the big daddy

Mate comparing ROM's is disrespectful to developers ..
I wouldnt say so, creative criticism is essential to development, and its not like were pointing out flaws and saying why (not that thay are) bad, where expressing personal opinions, not attacking developers.
The point is I think its down to personal preference, what makes my rom of choice best for me is not always going to be right for you. Try them all play find out what you like and you want from a rom.

Agreed without competition there would be no invitation. As always "best" is subjective to the person. Try them all pick the one that suits your needs the most.
My need is for battery life above all, I use the Rom that gives me the most.

Hi
I suggested we can do pros and cons of every rom we use and so we can assess the rom ourselves.
To be honest, I know OP doesn't criticize on any ROM, but all of the ROM out there is FOC and is developed with all the effort given by the developer. You could easily try out the two you asking for and see which one could benefit you the most
Since you are asking on ARHD and PKMN, it is depending on your usage. If you prefer as stock state as possible, then you could go for ARHD. If you prefer huge tweaks, then you could go for PKMN. No harm trying them
Pointless thread is pointless
Try a few ROMs and see what fit you best.
Thread closed.

[Q] The best ROM/kernal??

hey yo folks, i just bought me new SG3-i747 and was wondering what is the BEST ROM/kernals? on my GS2-i777 SHOstock3 is what im running since that one is by far the best roms out....i would really appreciated your input, i dont want to ROOT my GS3 just yet until i found out everything about the ROM that i am going to use..
Thanks!!!
You need to head to the development sections and read some threads. They provide insight on the ROM, usually screen shots and FAQs.
As for the best ROM/Kernel, there is no right answer. We all use our devices differently and as such, have different feelings about what makes one ROM superior to another.
My advice would be to read up in development, download some ROMs and Kernels to test, and happy flashing!
There is no such thing as the best rom or kernel. You will need to just try some out to find out which one of each works best for you or your device.

Most stable ROM for a month flasher?

Hey there I just got my girlfriend a galaxy S3 and would like to know what is the most stable ROM for daily driving? I'm using CleanROM for the note 2 and it's amazing. Was wondering if there is something as simple as CLEANROM?

Ya that really a loaded question and can get you a lot of fanboy answers. You best bet would be to show her some of the diffrent roms there are and the features they have. Then let her test drive it and see what she likes best. Thats what it alwasy boils down too. Not so much the best ROM but the best ROM for you as the user.
look around in the Android Development section if she's more into the stock S3 look and feel. some great options in there like i747z and CSROM

That's exactly what I did with my fiancee. I showed her mine and gave her a different and let her choose which she liked most.

Definitely a matter of personal choice. Whether you go with my Intergalactic ROM, enewman17's, upndwn4par, or even more that I have not mentioned, chances are that you will receive a good quality experience on this phone. We all work together to make it better as a matter of fact. Take a look at each thread, flash a ROM, make a nandroid backup of your settings if you like it, try another, come back if you preferred the last one. We are fortunate to have many talented devs here who dedicate themselves to making this phone the best it can be. Good luck and regards.
I can't say "most" since I haven't tried them all, but these have been my favorites - simple, very stable, great battery life, de-bloated, no BS, just work great:
ICS - KyanROM
JB - Ultimatum S3
i like cyanogen mod but I am currently on Liquid Smooth RC2 4.2.2 rom and so far so good

[Q] best rom???

I was looking through the tons and tons of roms and found a lot that I like but I want to know what everyone else thinks? I am looking for a visual stunning rom that offers lots of eye candy and one that overall still looks good but is very clean with the best performance. Of course I would like that to all be in one rom but I don't seem to see anything. Thanks for your opinions!!
The best rom...is the one you enjoy the most...
No one build catches the eye for everyone in the same way..
You should first determine if you want roms that run on the bleeding edge...or roms that run the conservative path...
Only you can answer those questions...as you are the best judge.....for you...g

Looking for more of someone else's opinion. I know what I like and I know what I will use... its just more of a question of what other people prefer... it never hurts to gain perspective...

But opinions are just that... Opinions. This thread is going to be closed for that very reason.
Why is everyone on the offensive? When I first got into this with my htc evo years ago one of my favorite things was discussing different roms with all my friends who also rooted there phones. It always enjoyed it. I didn't realize asking a simple question would rub people the wrong way. If the thread gets deleted then its no big deal, I didn't gain anything from it so I won't be at a loss...

This is the reason these threads get closed....
They always end in hurt feelings....and no benefits for the community...
Sorry I couldn't answer your question...
Plenty of roms to try around here...
Happy flashing...g

If you want the latest 4.2.2 I like PAC man Rom
Its has all Features from Paranoid Android. All Features from CM and some Features from AOKP. Halo is a nice new notification system to use too. I am using this one now.
If you want optimized Samsung 4.1.2 I like CleanROM ACE 4.9
It has great battery optimization and is fast. Great if you want Samsung apps and stuff.
Also depends on what launcher you use. I always use Nova launcher.
Everything has already been said
ALL ROMs are the best for those that use them

[Q] About to switch roms. Recommendations??

I'm about to switch from digiblur MK4 to anything else. I'm looking to stay on touchwiz. Any suggestions?

The reason from my understanding is that there is no such as" the best rom." Everyone has different things they like. Also since this is a community and people create roms to give back and for fun this is a way not to insult them and their work...

A "best rom" is the opinion of the user, everyones opinion is different, as we all seek different functions, features, and UI's. discussions of a rom, therfore, should not be interpreted as an "insult" to a dev's work. Most of us come to xda for roms, tweaks, and anything else related to mobile, discussions of a rom being an insult is laughable. Discussions allow dev's to better their work, making them better while giving the user a better experience. At this point, most devs know what works and what doesn't, users know what issues a rom may have before installing. "best rom" is nothing more than an opinion, not an "insult". Just my opinion.

True. So there is no such thing as a "best rom." Everyones opinion of the "best rom" is different. Thats why the forum asks not to post these threads because they want you to explore all the roms out there that have different features from other roms. they want everyone to use the search engine and read just like everyone else has when they joined this community. Thats the best way to find out what rom is the "best rom" for that individual
I won't say best. But here is the list of 4.3 TW Roms. I like then all for their own reasons.
-Lorjay has a few, One is FTW
-Custom
-Digiblur
-Smoothest
(not in any order)
There are a lot of non 4.3. Too many to list.
Correct me if I'm wrong, maybe i missed one that i need to try myself!
STS and Venum Ice are MK4
