After installing cynogenmod 10.1 on to my note 2 lte. How can I login my email using my school mail. It says "You can install certificates from a PKCS#12 file with a pfx or a p12 extension located in external storage." But no such files in my external storage, where can I get them?

Hello,
My uni requires use of a certificate (in cer, der or pem format) in order to use the wifi. I've done some google research but haven't been able to find a successful method of getting the certificate installed. Renaming the files to a .p12 and importing from sd card asks for a extraction password, which doesn't seem to be the certificate store password that you can set.
I was wondering if anyone had had any luck on 2.1 and had any tips...
I had the same issue. I tried to by-pass by using mschap in the configuration screen, and it worked.
Sent from my HTC Desire using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
I managed to install the certificate by using this neat little online tool:
Search for the Realmb droid cert online installer.
Edit: After being a reader of these forums for 2 years I don't seem to have enough privileges to post a useful link, crazy!
I can now see it in the certificate list when adding the network but the real test will be when I go into uni!

You need the certificate in PKCS#12 format. I don't know if renaming a X.509 certificate to .p12 will do the trick.
You need to copy the certificate to the SD card and then use "Install from SD card" in Settings -> Security.
The password it asks for when installing is the certificate pass-phrase and not the "Credential storage password".
I use a digital certificate and EAP-TLS for WiFi with no problems.

Hi all,
I have my own EAP wireless network at home which I would like to add my Galaxy to (coz I can, the WPA2 si working fine, but i'm never satisfied ) ... I also run my own internal CA to issue the certificates for my domain etc... what certificate type do I need to issue? web enroll a machine cert?
Hi All.
I downloaded an APK to my PC and with the intent to install it using the HTC Sync install app (HTC Sync for Telus [2.x?]). Before the install attempt, I had >15MBs free on the internal storage. The install "failed" with the phone presenting the dialog indicating that I don't have enough space with the button to goto "Manage Applications".
So the install failed, and I am assuming that nothing was "installed", but now my internal storage is down to 5MBs. So I am suspecting that although the installed failed, the transfer of the APK to the phone did not fail.
Could it be the APK is still around on the internal storage? How can I delete it

look in /data/app/ to see if the .apk is there, if not look in /data/data/ to see if any relevent data connected to that app is there
there is nothing in /data
I'm on Telus with an SGH-T989 (which I think is the same as the T-Mobile). Just got the update to ICS (4.0.3 I think). I was trying to figure out why the e-mail client was working with Exchange as it had been before the update. There was something listed in security policies about SD card encryption being disabled, so I thought I'd try encrypting the SD card to see if that would fix my e-mail.
However, once the encryption was done, I wasn't able to access any of the applications I had moved to SD. I also wasn't able to move any other applications over to SD. Is this a "feature" of SD encryption - can't move apps to the SD when turned on? Seems somewhat surprising. I can view the SD just fine through file explorer. Just can't run the apps that were previously moved to the SD.
It also didn't solve my original problem, which was being able to access Exchange e-mail, which still didn't work. Oddly enough, I could send e-mails out through the Exchange account, but it doesn't retrieve e-mail or sync calendar. When I try to hit "refresh" it just pops up with a "last updated" message showing the current time, but none of the new e-mails. No error message.
Any advice would be most appreciated.
Hello!
First I don't really have much experience about android. (I know it is not a good start)
About a month ago I bought a note 8.0. I also bought a 64 GB SD card. I would have liked to use the SD card with root access for all applications.
So I rooted the device and I installed and ran SD KitKat fixer. It was not success. I found this article: winaero.com/blog/unlock-external-sd-card-writing-for-all-apps-in-android-4-4-kitkat I did the steps but I couldn't modify /system/etc/permissions/platform.xml not even with file explorer (with root permission). I could save the file but the file didn't changed. After that I made a mistake. I copied the file to the other partition. I changed the file and copied back to the original location. (I left an oroginal copy on the SD card but it could not be reachable after the change) After this the device could not read or write any of the sd card partition except the system partition. I connected the tablet to my PC, I see the SD cards, I can open them, but they are empty and I can't write them. In the system setting (on the tablet) the SD cards are visible.
1. I tried to modify back the XML file but I can't open it with file explorer.
2. I reset the the tablet. It didn't work.
3. I tried to connect the device to Samsung kies. I wanted to make fore reinstall but kies couldn't build the connection.
Error message:
Failed to connect device.
Connection or use may be restricted if the device access (including writing)
is prohibited by your computer's security program, or for any other reason.
4. Keyboard is not working I connected one with USB. I can connect to my wifi network. I tried to connect to google play. It accpeted my login datas but it couldn't connect to google servers.
Because I can't write the drives of the tablet from my PC, I can't copy a rom to the device.
File explorer is not working on the device. It can be opened but nothing can be seen.
I think I can't take back the tablet where I bought it beacuse I lost the warranty with the rooting.
Can anybody give me advice what should I do?
Could somebody please make available the original platform.xml for me?
Hi, I am a long time a go without a phone number on my Lumia but before that I registered WhatsApp to that number. After that I lost my numer but I keept using WhatsApp.
A few days ago I did a several backups of WhatsApp from the app, to sd card and One Drive. Them I sent my Lumia to repair (without sd card, case and battery). When I recieved I started to install some apps, included WhatsApp. I saw for some apps to restore settings but the problem is:
- The restore backups apps do the backup of the app data folder to a zip file.
- WhatsApp do the backup from the following files and folders:
> db_* folder that contains the next files
· calls.db
· messages.db
· onedrive_manifest.db (in case you do the backup to OneDrive)
· settings.db
> media folder
My intention is to place the db files in the correct path of the WhatsApp folder but the problem is:
The installed location is in C:\Data\PROGRAMS\WINDOWSAPPS\5319275A.WhatsAppBeta_2.17.60.0_arm_cv1g1gvanyjgm
The app data location is in C:\Data\Users\DefApps\APPDATA\Local\Packages\5319275A.WhatsAppBeta_cv1g1gvanyjgm
The both locations have the same folder were we have the next path: \LocalState\settingsv2
Here we have 2 more folders: nv and volatile
Both folders have the same file name: settings.db
My question is, what folder is the correct to copy the files (the same to other files)?
Hope someone can help me. I need to use WhatsApp with the same number for personal reasons.
Thanks.
1. as long as nobody else gets your old number with a new contract that works fine (if you still have a complete valid backup with registration token, which isnt stored on the sd backup imho, nor in the onedrive backup)
2. you need the backup from the phone directly, stored in C:\Data\SharedData\OEM\Public\WhatsApp (to copy that from and to the phone make a shortcut to u:\... instead of c:\...)
you can simply copy it back and its activated etc. since you havent done -> sorry no chance. you are missing the RegToken file from the internal Storagefolder. Without that you cant use a that backup for the old number cause you cant receive the verification sms again on that number
you can't keep files/folders order in case of flashing/resseting. There is uniqe ID for each run with SD card. You did lost it
yes you can! maybe only the internal files (dont know about backups on the sd for example). have done it multiple times when i needed to reset my 920 and even done it now when i migrated my data to the 950. just copied all stuff (means the mentioned whatsapp folder) from the internal storage from the 920 to the internal storage of the 950, installed WA. it recognized all data and took over the regtoken (so no need to resend the verification sms). and thats the problem here -> he hasnt backed up the regtoken and has no access to his old phone number. no way to reactivate whatsapp with that number/backup cause the token is missing
How do you get access to the phone folder's like 'C:\Data\Users\DefApps\APPDATA\Local\Packages\'?
All app I've tried dont allow you to browse here. Also via the USB developer mode I see no way.
