Hey Guys
i have a german "Vodafone" branded Wildfire. Once i´ve debranded, s-off and rootet it.
Now i want to get back to full stock for reselling it.
So i´ve runned the "RUU_Buzz_Vodafone_DE_1.25.162.1_F_Radio_13.45.55.24H_3.35.15.31_SF_release_150710_signed"
But after booting the phone, there was no first time installation (the setup progress u have to do after resetting a phone, like set language, mobile network eg) and the screen had no icons on it. (No Apps, no HTC Clock, and no other widgets).
How can i solve that problem??
Solved by flashing hboot 0.80.xx
Another problem is the CID.
If i use the fastboot command "fastboot getvar cid" i´ll get VODAP102 (which is the correct branded cid)
the adb command "adb getprop ro.cid" gives me "11111111" which is actuall te SuperCID.
Any Solutions?
Thanks in advance.

sorry, I should have explained myself, have you flashed from fastboot or adb only? I'm sure you have to do it from fastboot not adb, there is a tut on here somewhere, but i can't find the link for it

And your fastboot/hboot does say something like aplpharev on the top? If that is the case it will also work if you do it right when booted into fastboot. I might be able to guide you through it.
If that is not the case, something is wrong, and you will need to run alpharev again.
I also dont get how your cid can be 11111111, as that definitely does not look right. Try booting to fastboot and run "fastboot oem boot" and write the cid it throws out it should be something like HTC_Y13

disable the phone from the wire
Hit Ctrl + C
see $
write vi alpharev.sh Hit Enter
cursor down to 117 lines, where it is written PB9920000 remove zeros that would get PB992
Hit Shift colon and write wq
see $
write. / alpharev.sh
process will start again on the instructions of obtaining s-off

I tried the process,I changed the PB9920000 to PB992 but I dont understand what is that mean :"Hit Shift colon and write wq"
what is shift colon ?
Edit :O.K I figured it out !!!!
after I changed the num to PB992 I pushed Shift+Z
and I wrote :" ./ alpharev.sh "and Enter
It start all over from the begining and its all working good now.
Thank you very much...
His phone is s-off alright, but it has somehow been delivered that way, so you have got a phone, which were meant for development or a store demo device(have seen the same issue on store demo devices).
The problem is, that this is real s-off, which means it's set by a flag on a low level of the nand, so he still has the original bootloader, which doesn't support fastboot commands. And because it's a development device it's got cid 11111111, which is wrong and makes alpharev recognize it as a different/non existing device. You should be able to flash it in another way because as you are s-off, you can make the recovery ask the bootloader to flash low level stuff like splash, and the bootloader is s-off, so it shouldn't check for anything. You might need some specialist aka the ones from alpharev though if they are interested in helping you.
edit: As it is s-off it might very well be able to flash one of the pb99img.zip files containing the alpharev hboot found on the alpharev site because it will accept them as if they were from HTC, so just put them on the sd-card with the right name and reboot to the bootloader. This way you might be able to activate fastboot commands, and start flashing the same way we do. This requires that those images will work normally on your phone, so i would still ask the alpharev guys so you don't risk a brick.
i agree with mortenmhp asking alpharev is probably the best idea
shift colon is probably :
in the editor vi you use ":wq" to tell the programm to save stuff and exit the editor
How can I make contact with alpharev ?
I didn't understant how to use the IRC...
Hi,
I have the following system configuration:
ACE PVT ship S-ON RL
HBOT-2.00.0027
RADIO -26.14.04.28_M
Android ver: 2.3.5
HTC Sense:3.0
SW ver: 3.13.161.3
carrier: Vodafone ES (Spain)
and I would like to root my terminal. I read that, first of all, I have to put in S-OFF mode and the only way to achieve it is using HTCDEV.com bootloader unlock
So, I followed the steps (without updating RUU as I saw I have the last SW version in RUU list) but when i'm going to generate the token, with
"fastboot oem get_identifier_token" it shows "(bootloader) [ERR] Command error !". ( I think the bootloader 2.00.0027 doesn't recognize option "get_identifier")
Should I download the "PD9810000_Ace_Sense30_S_hboot_2.00.0029.exe" from HTC Europe Carrier?
Has anybody tried to install this RUU with same configuration as mine?
Second question. If this RUU works, it performs a factory reset , isn't it? Are there any other alternatives in order not to wipe data?
And Third and last question. Which are the next steps I have to take to root my terminal?
Thx in advance.
You can unlock bootloader with Advanced Ace Hack Kit. First you need it's downgrade, then you will have have HBOOT 0.85 and then it's easy way to get S-OFF. All things will be done automatically by this application

In bootloader mode run the following command - fastboot getvar version-main. That will tell you the RUU version you will need to flash to get back to complete stock as the rom you currently have may be customised and the update will not be successfully applied to that rom. You will then need to locate the necessary ruu (try here) and flash that with a locked bootloader.

It doesnt have the "fastboot getvar version-main"..
You got to have HTC drivers installed on the pc, and you also need the fastboot files on the pc. When you put the phone in the bootloader menu you should see "fastboot usb" when you connect the phone to the pc.
Then you open a command prompt in the fastboot folder and type the command
Fastboot getvar version-main

You can't install OTA on rooted ROM ... it needs pure non-rooted stock ROM.
You can try to restore only the system partition from non-rooted backup.
You can get the backup and stock recovery for 4.18.708.12 here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/tutorial-how-to-stock-stock-twrp-t3086860

can i do it without rooting or unlocking bootloader because i dont know how to do it on HTC Phone and those CID and stuff really bug me out
itried flashing ota with stock recovery got this error

whats wrong here ?
Why on post #1 you said you have HKG 4.18.708.12
But in your screenshot you tried to install EU 6.12.401.4 OTA
and it failed because your stock recovery is TMOB US.

if the first cid and mid is the current now you can't flash Tmobile RUU
( there is a simple fix for this issue as you said your device is s-off but i'm afraid to say it,then you screw up )
so post the result of fastboot getvar all ( after removing serial and imei numbers ) to be certain what you need to do

Are you located in US and on T-Mobile network ?
If no, I suggest you to change the MID to EU MID 0P6B10000 then install EU Marshmallow RUU.
Some say once you have SuperCID, there is no need to change MID as SuperCID will override MID but in my experience that will never happen (flashing a modded firmware.zip is different as it has almost all MID in its android-info.txt). Unless you MID is SuperMID, you need to change MID to EU if you want to install EU RUU.
You can follow this guide to change MID - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708581
then install RUU - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64926626&postcount=6
If yes, in US and on T-Mobile network, you need different approach.

Then go for the option that I mentioned earlier.
First - change MID
Second - install RUU
Change MID
What you need to do .. boot to bootloader and install TWRP - maybe version 2.8.7.0 will do
https://dl.twrp.me/m8/
after you install TWRP - boot to recovery
Mount - system
then open command prompt from your adb/fastboot folder
then type
adb shell
follow by
Code:
echo -ne '\x30\x00\x50\x00\x36\x00\x42\x00\x31\x00\x30\x00\x30\x00\x30\x00\x30' | dd of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p5 bs=1 seek=16384
don't write yourself the code, copy and paste
then type exit
select reboot menu, select bootloader
then install RUU
Edit : your bootloader is locked, relocked or unlocked ? If locked and relocked, you can't fastboot flash the TWRP in normal way.
Download this : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70439093&postcount=412

Which RUU number?
Exactly where does it get stuck? Any error messages?
After double clicking the ruu the installaion wizard pops up and after selecting the next option the installion bar goes to full and after that installion wizard vanishes and nothing happens.
