[Q] I would like some help please - HTC One X

If I could , I would like some help. I am new to the Android thing and with a ATT Htc one x , I tried the rooting thing. I successfully got a Viper xl rom on the phone and thought I would try something else. Using the All In One toolkit I downloaded from a link at another forum. I managed to get the phone relocked when trying to get back to the stock rom. Now the PC (windows 7) will not recognize the phone. The AOI will not see the phone. The phone wont connect to the PC. When plugged in either as AC or USB to the computer a screen comes up with FastBoot, Bootloader etc. The phone shows in the device manager but no where else. Using the AOI I can get it to get to a screen that is black with htc in the middle which came from recovery to flash a factory RUU in recovery. But it wont work.
Have I "bricked the phone" or can it be recovered ? If so I would like someone to help me with a guide on what to do. Not that savy when it comes to computers. I can manage to screw things up more than fix things with a PC.

AW: [Q] I would like some help please
Can you boot normally?

Point 1 : never use something from another forum than the forum from your phone !!!!!!!!
Point 2 : you are in the wrong forum here
Go to the AT&t,rogers,HTC one XL forum and please stay there if you don't want to brick your phone !
(If its not already now)

I thought I was in the HTC one X section here . sorry if I am wrong. The forum I was refering to was for HTC one X. The toolkit I used was for the HTC one x.
Sorry to intrude here. Will go back and do some more searching on the net for help.
Again sorry to make an intrusion here. Some of the information I read was from this forum also.

I want you to be on the safe side with your phone mate, check your bootloader
This forum is for the endeavoru type phone, the AT&T forum is for the Evita type phone. Please check which one you have and direct yourself to the correct forum

[Q] HTC One X won't turn on

i tried to install new ROM. It couldn't make a new tmp/update_binary to I rebooted to Fastboot
Now my phone won't turn on, no LEDs come on.
HOWEVER, when plugged into my computer, the computer recognizes that something's been plugged in (with that du-doo) noise, but then quickly makes the (da-da-da) noise to inform me that the USB device isn't working.
Where do I go from here. I've searched for hours on this issue...
Let's get the stupid questions out of the way first: did you try to boot to bootloader? (hold voldown and power 15sec)
Can you see the device in windows device manager? Any info there?
Sent from my HTC One X
Thanks for response,
It has not booted into the bootloader. And still won't
Dev Manager gives me a Code 10 for the device (device won't start)
I got another Code 28 (wrong drivers) for some device called QHSUSB_DLOAD, but that might be something else.
Are you sure you have the international tegra 3 one x?
It seems it is stuck in QHUSB_DLOAD-mode which is a qualcomm specific mode.
It seems your phone is bricked pretty hard, but I'll try to solve this.
Sent from my HTC One X
I have the AT&T, qualcomm HOX. NOT the Tegra 3 model. For sure.
Doh...
I FOR SURE have the AT&T HOX, NOT the Tegra 3..... Geesh
I've got to these forums thousands and thousands of times...
I can't believe that i clicked the wrong forums ONE time... and this consequence is pretty large.
I appreciate your willingness to help...
What rom were you flashing?
It may have been a international one x rom and that's why it's bricked.
Sent from my HTC One X
It WAS an international ROM... i'm sure of it. // Still can't believe I made that mistake.
So where do i go from here?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1966850
I guess it's not completely dead since Device Manager recognizes it
Though, It seems that the only way out is to find a computer and natively install Ubuntu
I see you shifted to the correct forum.
Best of luck for you. Hope you manage to unbrick.

[Q] Phone is totally dead 100%

Ok, I followed all the details from the videos on onexroot's website .
1. I used the videos found on one x root's website to root my AT&T One X.
2. I also used his videos to install a rom. Sorry I tried posted the youtube links so you could see exactly what I did but these forums will not allow me to post links yet. GRRRRRR (but I understand why.)
3. This is the rom that I used I used a rom off the one x root site as well. (click on One X rom and scroll down to the second one. IceColdJelly AOKP Android 4.2.1 ROM for HTC One X!)
4.I placed the rom in its own directory on my phone "ROMs"
Everything went fine through the whole process. I created a back up, checked to make sure the back up was there .. it was. I did a wipe, and installed the new rom. I press the reboot and then it was dead.
The phone is black.
I have pressed the power button for all periods of time. Power + volume -, Power + Volume+.
When i connect the phone to my pc via usb, I can not see it.
I have charged it for 45 mins now .. nothing.
Tired fastboot reboot bootloader, and got "deviced not found"
I downloaded HTC Sync and the RUU from their site. When I run RUU it says it can not find a connect device.
Am I Screwed here. I really think that I have done a much as I could find online before posting in here like a noob (which I am.)
Thanks in advance for the help
Cory
Dont think the international versions of our ROMS will work on an AT&T Variant, you should probably try to flash an AT&T Rom.
Hope you get sorted :good:

Well the info is :
There is a AT&T dual-core (codename evita) hox.....also called HTC One XL and there is a tegra 3 HTC One X (codename endeavoru) quad-core hox .....also known as the international HTC One X !
Now to the problem :
What happens when you connect the phone to the pc ? Does it show up anywhere in the device manager (as a one x, my htc, or even APX) ?

Awesome, Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. When I go to device manager with the usb connected, I do not see the phone at all. Before I started this, I was able to.. When I plug the USB in, I do hear the windows "dong" sound, strange thing though, when I unplug it, I heard a double "dong sound." All and any help is very very appreciated.
Have you read the IceColdJelly thread? It says:
Code:
ONLY FOR ONE X INTERNATIONAL, TEGRA 3 VERSION - I don't want any more bricked devices!!
Check out the unbricking evita thread in the general section of ATT One X forum

No I did not as that is not were I downloaded it from, and to be honest, you are just pouring salt in a wound.
Thanks
I still don't get how you bricked it. No US variants are International One X. Go to the Evita forum and unbrick.

screen artifacts

Hey,
Just got my HTC One X (the AT&T american version) a couple of weeks ago and I'm having some problems with the screen, the same as the youtube video "HTC One X screen artifacts" (sorry, the forum doesnt allow me to post the link)
I read somewhere that the only way to fix it is getting a new one, or updating my phone firmware to 1.29 or above.
I'm trying to update it, but I'm still having those strange artifacts on my screen.
Does anyone know how to do it manually? Without using the phone screen, only the computer.
Thanks
Check your bootloader, when it say EVITA you are in the wrong forum and have to seek help in the at&t dual-core hox XL forum. Procedures will probably be the same but flashing anything from here may lead to a proper brick !

Thanks a lote, mate.
I might be in the wrong forum.

Can you do fastboot commands, if so do
Fastboot getvar all

[Q] HTC One Rooting Problem

Please Help! I have a HTC One X At&t unlocked phone with lot of issues. I decided to install custom ROM on this phone. I am a newbie in the world of rooting, flashing etc. I follow some directions and I was able to unlock my boot loader then installed twrpv.2.6. I tried to flash one custom rom that I found in web, during flashing twrp give me a message "Your phone is not rooted. You want to flash SuperSu. When I confirm and reboot the system, phone stuck in htc logo screen with white back ground. I guess my phone lacking super user permission. Is there any way I can fix my phone?
I tried to manually put su and other files into this phone but its lacking following directories
system\bin\su
system\xbin
data\local\temp
At&t....does the bootloader say EVITA ? if so you are in the WRONG forum. In that case you need to be in the HTC one XL forum. And please post questions in the Q&A section and not in the general section ! Read more carefully
Edit :
And please get the roms from the specific device xda forum. It's much safer than some rom of the web.....

You say that you have the middle east version of the phone. When you boot into the boot loader, does it say Evita at the top left or does it say something different?

Bootloader details please. Also, you should check the Evita FAQ thread in my signature, your answer probably lies within.

You have an international HTC One X not an AT&T One XL. You're posting in the wrong forum. I reported your post to be moved.
In the meantime, I strongly suggest reading lots and lots in the threads intended for your device: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-x
This forum is for people who want to help themselves, read, understand and then proceed. If you don't want to take the time to learn from the resources made freely available, people will be less inclined to help you.
Moved to the international One X Q&A section
