Made a retro bootanimation I thought I'd share with you guys.
Originally made it for the iPhone a few years back, but decided to make a new, better version for the Nexus 7!

Nice job, man... Best computer of all times! I still have my KS1.3 A500 in its original box and still working great.
Also, nice to see other "Rock Lobster" fans around here. :highfive:
Thanks!
Yes it's an incredible machine
The sound quality still blows my mind.
I was thinking about making a bootsound with the ticks and buzzing of the floppy drive aswell, but figgured then i could never turn my nexus on at night Maybe mute it down a bit, it could be usable. We'll see in the future

Incredible. Love it! Thanks.
I'm not sure how well it would go down linking to download sites as I'm not entirely sure if it would count as piracy (against xda rules). This is a good place to talk about our favourite games and recommend them to each other.
Favourite games for me, paradroid 90, hunter, hero's quest, the settlers.
Did anyone try dune or dune 2 on n7? I'm curious to see how well it would work without a mouse for multi selection of units

Robocod used to be my favourite game.
A very fun and cute gameplay. I have to get a go at it again soon
Personally i dont remember many titles, I'll have to go through some floppy boxes and search online to put names on them.
Allso Lemmings. I heard It's made by some of the people who made the GrandTheftAuto series, who are known for great and revolutionary games. Not 100% sure about this though

You're quite right. Lemmings was developed by DMA Design, the same people that did the GTA series.
My favorites (among quite a few others) were Hunter, Ivan Reitman's Super Off-Road, Flight of the Amazon Queen, Speedball I & II, Stunt Car Racer, Another World, Super Cars II, Pinball Dreams, Slam Tilt, Cannon Fodder, Kick Off II and of course... Sensible World of Soccer (SWOS).

Nice piece, although I would consider the Madfinger games in the list, specifically Dead Trigger. Aside from having outstanding graphics and being free, if you have an OTG adapter and plug in a PS3 gamepad, it feels like a transformed game.
In my opinion, this game is the closest to offering a console-style experience so far with a gamepad, as the controls are incredibly tight. Try it with a controller if you are able!

Madfinger game are awesome and will make my follow up. Here's why I didn't add dead trigger. It is fun but pretty mindless game play and we despise games leveraged by in app purchases. The game has no story and the games here I selected for overall depth not necessarily game play alone. I'll add it as a players choice though in my follow up and thanks very much for the feedback

Those games do look awesome but I think dead trigger needs to be up there. Its the game I showcase my n7 with. Also, nothing beats a Bluetooth ps3 controller and a PlayStation emulator or any other emulator. I've been playing ff7 and ff tactics since I got my tablet.

Dead trigger gets old real fast, most of the weapons are a waste of time and so are the items and as you say, it's the same stages over and over.

Sadly, I don't like ANY of your choices of games.
You should re-title this to top 5 action/arcade games or something.
I prefer strategy/war games and my current fav is:
Great Big War Game, esp with the multiplayer capability.

You asked for an opinion and I gave one. It wasn't rude yet you replied with a implied insult.
Here is another opinion since you want something different.
James Holmes & Jared Loughner likely played games like that. Look where it got them and all of us.
You should read what action/arcade games are as a genre, the majority of his games are adventure/RPG..

The android market desperately needs an adventure / RPG genre. So I think he's right in that for market categories it'd fall under action.
I like glwg too although the latest update made it unplayable on the n7. I might try gbwg. For arcade, I do like spirit xhd.
Plus, in all honesty, I think there needs to be a rating system other than opinions.
Order and chaos, while a fun game, is very slow at the point I'm at and is a little choppy for 1.5ghz and 484 GPU on a 15+ Mbit connection.
It should probably be rated based on gameplay, replay ability, game performance / app design, graphics, etc.

Hey guys I just want to share a game that ITS completely worth the money, its by far the best game I ever played on my Android device ( and Ive played a lots of them ).
Im not promoting it or anything like that becouse I didnt create it, I just want to let you know that its a great and adictive game, it runs perfectly on the nexus and the graphics are beautiful indeed.
Its called Rayman Jungle Run

Just got rayman jungle run, noticed its number 1 on new paid game list, so its quite popular at the moment, like it so far but like most mobile games it only offers minimal levels an short gameplay but good otherwise, android games certainly won't replace your psvita or 3ds handheld just yet.
hey Sonic is that you ?

I have to admit I am addicted to Rayman Jungle Run. It is way to much fun and adds a lot of replay value trying to get every sprite-esque thing and its way to easy to control. In addition, Jetpack Joy Ride, Bad Piggies, and Granny Smith are all equally addicting.
Jet pack Joyride by: half brick. It's free, fast and fun.

Thanks everyone.
On my GNeX my favorite games are F18 Carrier Landing & Air Navy Fighters, "StockMarket" (Not a game but since it's not real money I consider it a game, Asphalt7.
Unfortunately, I'm a bit confused with the existing games for android..
We have HD Open World Games, like GTA 3 and Vice City,..
Good shooter, like Critical Strike, Gamelofts upcoming Blitz Brigade, Shadowgun, Modern Combat,..
Farmville stuff,.. Point & Click Games,.. HD Car Racing Games,..
HD (Console) Games like Dead Space,..
Hell, we even have Minecraft...
But, why are there no Old school Jump & Run games..?
Like Rayman (No Runner Games..) Jak & Daxter, Ratchet & Clank..
I even haven't heard of any news that they're coming..
The point of this thread, is to collect (and discuss) information about developers that are working or planning to work on J&R Games...
If there's a thread like this, please show me the way, since I haven't found a thread, especially for a good gaming device like the Nexus 7..
We have like everything that is possible, even HE Open World games so I'm wondering what's up with some nice Jump & Run games..

Sonic 4? There is even a THD version.
+ Cordy and Killer Bean Unleashed just popped into my mind. Personally I don't like any of them too much, without controller it's just annoying for me to fail because of the touch controls.
AW: Am I Right..? [Games]
I know these games, and some of them are quite good, but they're side scrolled games.. I thought more of J&R games with an 3D environment.. I feel like no one is interested in these kind of games ^^'

I think more than Jak & Daxter for the ps2, or Ratchet and Clank, an "open world" game, which is based on jump & run, I can't give another example since there's nothing for android :/

So, Epic Games just released their popular "Epic Citadel" app for Android. The graphics look very good, actually. And the benchmark proves that the GNex can still hold its own when running graphics intensive games. I'm very curious and anxious to see if Epic just ports what they have on iOS or actually makes a new game for Android.
