Nice piece, although I would consider the Madfinger games in the list, specifically Dead Trigger. Aside from having outstanding graphics and being free, if you have an OTG adapter and plug in a PS3 gamepad, it feels like a transformed game.
In my opinion, this game is the closest to offering a console-style experience so far with a gamepad, as the controls are incredibly tight. Try it with a controller if you are able!

Madfinger game are awesome and will make my follow up. Here's why I didn't add dead trigger. It is fun but pretty mindless game play and we despise games leveraged by in app purchases. The game has no story and the games here I selected for overall depth not necessarily game play alone. I'll add it as a players choice though in my follow up and thanks very much for the feedback

havent tried these yet...
Those games do look awesome but I think dead trigger needs to be up there. Its the game I showcase my n7 with. Also, nothing beats a Bluetooth ps3 controller and a PlayStation emulator or any other emulator. I've been playing ff7 and ff tactics since I got my tablet.

I concur dead trigger is a great game but I compare it to rinse repeat of angry birds. Same stages reprised with no substance and in app purchases. Two no no's when I decided what my 5 favorite were.

Dead trigger gets old real fast, most of the weapons are a waste of time and so are the items and as you say, it's the same stages over and over.

Sadly, I don't like ANY of your choices of games.
You should re-title this to top 5 action/arcade games or something.
I prefer strategy/war games and my current fav is:
Great Big War Game, esp with the multiplayer capability.

You asked for an opinion and I gave one. It wasn't rude yet you replied with a implied insult.
Here is another opinion since you want something different.
James Holmes & Jared Loughner likely played games like that. Look where it got them and all of us.
You should read what action/arcade games are as a genre, the majority of his games are adventure/RPG..
Anyway good thread dude.

The android market desperately needs an adventure / RPG genre. So I think he's right in that for market categories it'd fall under action.
I like glwg too although the latest update made it unplayable on the n7. I might try gbwg. For arcade, I do like spirit xhd.
Plus, in all honesty, I think there needs to be a rating system other than opinions.
Order and chaos, while a fun game, is very slow at the point I'm at and is a little choppy for 1.5ghz and 484 GPU on a 15+ Mbit connection.
It should probably be rated based on gameplay, replay ability, game performance / app design, graphics, etc.

Hey guys. I was just wondering if any of you have played the dark knight rises yet on your N7. If so, how is it? Im downloading the game as I type this. How are the graphics? And does it run smooth? I ask because I've heard a few people say that it's laggy on their N7. Thanks for anyway feedback guys.

It looks good, but mine seems quite jumpy at times.
Good game and graphics, does get laggy sometimes but liveable

It plays OK on N7, it looks nice, and has small periods of slowdown but generally works well! A lot better than Asphalt 7 does on Nexus 7
Played fine on my n7, rarely noticed any lag, graphics are good but not as good as the market lets on well worth the £4.99 (especially with the free credit we get!)
I also used some of my free credit to download it and I must say it runs flawlessly. Graphics are amazing and the gameplay is very smooth. Great buy. Thanks for all your input guys.

You must be playing it on a different device...Dark Knight Rises and any other Gameloft game like NOVA run piss poor on the Nexus 7/Any Tegra 3 device...reason being is Gameloft's code isnt optimized for our hardware...This whole "smooth concept" is very subject, some people say that 15fps is smooth enough, well I can tell you after you play a game thats getting 45+ fps that 15 fps is not smooth, play Dark Knight or Nova on something like a S III and then go back to playing it on the Nexus 7, you will notice how much smoother the S III gameplay is, there's many threads/posts about Gameloft games running like crap on a Tegra 3...Actually go DL Dark Meadow a game optimized for Tegra 3 or Dead Trigger now that is smooth...Dark Knight/Nova/Amazing Spiderman/Insert any Gameloft game here, are not...But thats just my gamer opinion.

I own an S3 as well, and the S3 plays Gameloft games alot smoother then my N7, but again smooth is subjective, some ppl think 20 fps is smooth, to me its not, and I'm not the only one thats experienced terrible frames/choppiness with gameloft games on a tegra 3 device...if it was truly optimized for tegra 3, then performance for the most part would be uniform accross the board, but it isnt again my 2 cents.

I guess your right about what peoples definition of "smooth" is. For me at least when I say smooth, I mean it runs fluid and not laggy. The graphics are great as well. But that might just be my perception. This is the first tablet and Tegra3 device I have ever owned. So take that into account. I just downloaded Dead Trigger, which I have on my S3, and the graphics are simply amazing. Far better than my S3, so I'll give you that. Thanks for your input though. Which games would you suggest I get that are optimized for the Tegra3?

Optimized specifically i'd say Shadowgun THD, Dead Trigger u already got, Dark Meadow, Puddle THD, Sonic THD are a few. Games I found run pretty well but not optimized are Dead Space, Mass Effect Infiltrator, Modern Combat 3 (although they says its been optimized only Gameloft game that I've gotten that is "smooth" in my perception), Sure theres a few more that others can add.
Hey guys I just want to share a game that ITS completely worth the money, its by far the best game I ever played on my Android device ( and Ive played a lots of them ).
Im not promoting it or anything like that becouse I didnt create it, I just want to let you know that its a great and adictive game, it runs perfectly on the nexus and the graphics are beautiful indeed.
Its called Rayman Jungle Run

Just got rayman jungle run, noticed its number 1 on new paid game list, so its quite popular at the moment, like it so far but like most mobile games it only offers minimal levels an short gameplay but good otherwise, android games certainly won't replace your psvita or 3ds handheld just yet.

I have to admit I am addicted to Rayman Jungle Run. It is way to much fun and adds a lot of replay value trying to get every sprite-esque thing and its way to easy to control. In addition, Jetpack Joy Ride, Bad Piggies, and Granny Smith are all equally addicting.

Thanks everyone.
On my GNeX my favorite games are F18 Carrier Landing & Air Navy Fighters, "StockMarket" (Not a game but since it's not real money I consider it a game, Asphalt7.
Get yourself a deal and help charity!
https://www.humblebundle.com/
There is currently 6 games in the deal, however usually a week into the bundle they add an additional 4 games, free of charge if you've already bought the bundle They'll also give you steam keys.
Some of the games is making their Android debut; Superbrothers: Machinarium, Sword & Sworcery EP, Waking Mars, Splice, Crayon Physics Duluxe and possibly some others soon.
As an additional bonus, they're using the Nexus 4 as their "showroom device" xD
If helps the Child's Play charity and the Electronic Frontier Foundation, so you'll be doing a good deed too,.
5 Games have been added to the bundle, if you already purchased it you will get them for free. If you haven't bought it yet, make sure you beat the average to get all 11 games!
Thanks for the share.
Donated $6, got all the current games so far.
i would get those, but i got most of them already from previous Humble Bundles...
Yes but these are debuting on Android. So your other bundles wont have the Andorid copies.
Awesome just bought em. 6$ seemed fair for my current "budget"

No don't be misguided, the "tablet" apps just sport higher textures and scaled up buttons. These games are brilliant and the steam keys alone are worth more than the average.

Only issue I found so far is crayon physics won't save your progress I'd you close the app.

I've bought just about every humble bundle so far, and I've just bought another one. I bought this one pretty much just for machinarium on my N7. I've played it lots on my laptop, but I'm pretty pumped about it on the tablet.
I keep buying the bundles regardless of the duplication, it's nice to support the indie developers that are developing for linux. I think I may have bought Crayon Physics about 4 times now
There goes another 10$ and I didn't get a chance to play all the games from the previous bundles yet.

is galaxy on fire a realtime multiplayer? im looking for a game i can play online with other people and continue to play when ever i have free time, like a 3rd person quest sorter game but im not really into elves n wizards n stuff lmao :silly:
Well, it's not exactly an adventure game, but it's 3rd person and it's online, you cab try Shadowgun: Deadzone- it's a shooter game.

There are several online multiplayer games where everyone runs around. Deadtrigger is what kids here these days are playing. Better buy a controller though.

My Gameplay http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAT428RcReg
I have tested this one my Nexus. It does not run as lag free as Real Racing 3, though with the graphics turned up to high it looks very nice...much like the screenshots.
The music is nice, allowing you to quickly swap between Bass, Rock, and Electronic genres.
The UI looks terrible which is unfortunate but forgivable.
Multiplayer has not yet worked for me.
The car physics and handling feel a bit like you're a fast moving block, not a car...but you don't really notice when going at high speeds.
I like it. I'll be playing it for some time as my "arcade" racer, with loop de loops, ramps, shortcuts, "fast and furious" visuals, and speed.
When I want to play a quality high performance experience, I'll play the simulation Real Racing 3.
