Two weeks ago I fell and hit my smartphone snow. Today I found it and I thought that I will not work. I started my parts and it dried up. But it has started to stain the display. My question is how to get rid of them?
Thank you for your help and sorry for my English
Dwa tygodnie temu wypadł mi smartfon i wpadł do śniegu. Dzisiaj go znalazłem i myślałem że już nie będzie działać. Rozkręciłem go na częśći i wysuszyłem. Uruchomił się ale ma plamy pod wyświetlaczem. Moje pytanie brzmi: jak się ich pozbyć?
Dziękuję za pomoc i przepraszam za mój angielski
What kind of spots we are talking about? Better just take the photo of them and show it for us.

Probably water damage. If so the best solution would be to remove the aluminium back cover and put the device in a bowl of drie rice. Let it sit there for a day or two. It is your best bet to remove the remaining moisture.
Goed luck.

This happened to me as well, I still currently have the spots in the bottom corner of my screen, in cold weather it gets pretty annoying because the display shadows and there is loads of motion blur, the guys at the shop explained that a simple LCD change will fix this problem (as predicted)

Put mine through the wash. It's now filled with washing powder and fabric softner.
Is there a thread where people have, in various ways, successfully destroyed theirs?
So what? Take it apart completely and clean the parts with pure alcohol.
It will be like new after that.
maybe
Also don't try power it on. Let it completely dry out for like a week. Leave it in a hot press or something. You'd be surprised what can happen. Its worth a shot. Trying to turn it on will most likely fry wet circuits so you're better to leave it...
Or leave it in a jar with dry rice for a while

It's worth a shot though, got nothing to lose....
I think it's toast. I tried shaking it to get some of the water out but there is still water swishing around in the screen lol
Luckily for me it was insured. I told the girl dealing with my claim what happened, I stopped the washing machine when I heard it clunking. She just laughed.
I've got to send it in to see if it can be repaired. If not then they will replace it. Not guaranteed to be brand new either
I had a look at opening it up to let some of the water out but there are void stickers which I was tempted to lift off but I wasn't certain they'd to go back on.
It's got to be one of the worst ways to destroy a Desire lol
I'm pretty sure someone posted they'd dropped theirs in a drink and it came our all sticky and wet.
This was maybe a week after they were launched in the UK.

This is a working method:
1. dry your defy screen with hair dryer for 2 minutes and stop, then you will have semi working touchscreen
2. wait 2 minutes and dry again for 1 minute.
3. do step 2 4 times and your touchscreen will be fully working.
(P.S Try to Use the touchscreen in the waiting times.)
The best way, by which I saved my defy:
immediately take out the battery.
put it in rice container for around 7-8 hours. (the container must have raw rice )
after that, put it in the sun for around 2-3 hours.
it will never have any problem due to water damage.
What are you guys talking about?
I even talk on my defy while taking a shower. Nothing happens.

you represent a danger to your defy! XD
It's water resistant, not water proof, that's a big difference ^^

It can go around 1mt depth in water for around 30 minutes, if that's not water proof..
Even I take defy in shower!
I don't care!
Never had a problem...
Once fell in the tub... Qatar saw if there's no water at battery... then kept in towel... no problem!

There's something called ip67.
Defy has it. You should probably check it out.

Not officially. So you can't go to Moto and say "Your IP67 certification didn't work". Maybe they built it to match that spec and even tested, but they do not really advertise it as certified. Plus the box it comes in itself includes a message similar to the one you quoted, that it is only water resistant. They imply it can handle only splashes of water safely. You should probably check it out.

I have taken shower with my Defy - listening to music, making phone calls - no problem what so ever! Not to mention it's taking a dive in a fish tank on a daily basis as I work at a store where we sell them... Imagine how impressed customer is when you just take your personal phone out of your pocket and throw it in the fish tank... They are like...
Mine was in my pocket and it got wet for like 3 seconds on the beach; I did the whole rice bag stuff and it still had moisture under the screen, the power button stopped working and the light sensor didn't work. The first 2 got fixed when I opened it and let it dry again (and after hitting the power button like a mad man), the light sensor doesn't work anymore.
I guess it's only sweet water resistant.
In December, I ran out to my car in a very heavy rain and drop my Defy in the open parking lot. Didn't notice it and I drove away only to realized I lost my phone when I reached home. Went back to the same parking lot after like 30min and found it on the parking floor soaking wet and still facing the heavy rain. I just wipe the Defy on my jeans and press power button.. and surprised everything perfectly normal no problem at all.. It simply Defying drop and defying water.. Great stuff!!
It IS waterproof and IP67 certified. My manual states so. May be Motorola doesn`t advertise it in every country as such as they might get more legal problems in some countrys that way...
I dropped my defy+ in the dog cage. A lot of snow. Went back to sleep, waiting for the alarm. There was no alarm so I looked for the phone. I found it buried in the snow in the front of my door.
With teeth marks all over, because the dog thought that it was a toy. Probably the alarm made him stop. But it did have an hour of play.
So yes, it is a tough phone.

Motorola had to retract those statements, IIRC
Yup.... They had advertised it a bit initially, then the IP67 certification 'disappeared'. I think there was some old thread somewhere here discussing it ages ago...
Anyway as of now no official IP67 for defy. Dunno about defy+ though...

Sadly while I was at vacation, I went into the pool with the phone in my pocket. Went to my room and blowdryed the crap out of it, and after a couple days of drying, I put the battery back into it, but no luck... the phone just gave me a weak blinking orange light . I FEEL SO BAD FOR THE PHONE I AM SO STUPID. Guess I have to wait for a year for another phone .
RIP Desire HD may u rest in peace.
Why don't you try putting it in a bowl of rice for a couple of days bro, that sucks all the water right out!!

It will come back alive. I have a desire hd in an inspire caseing...don't ask it came that when I bought it from ebay. I have a faint ghost at the bottom left corner of the screen. I've had it for a year and flashed many roms since. Don't give up!

That's a real shame... the key to saving a phone that has got wet, is speed: switch it off/remove the battery before the water short-circuits the electronics inside. If you manage to do that first, the hairdryer/rice treatment (or sit it on a radiator) will work.
Unfortunately it sounds like drying it now will not do much good - though it's worth a try.
You may just be lucky, in that "loss" of the phone is covered in your parents' home insurance policy. It probably won't cover following you into a swimming pool, but it may well cover theft.
Lol had an old spv phone which nephew gave a bath too. I Left it in a bowl of rice (uncooked) for couple of days and phone started working again. 6 years later phone still working.

Um not sure what you are referring to as far as alcohol but putting it in rice could help. And it's just as sensitive to water as most phones if it gets inside the housing. Put it in rice and leave it like that overnight turned off. See if that helps.

Ha. The "ha" was for the ninja comment. Aside from that, the trick with a water damaged phone was to put alcohol on the wettest parts and hopefully that will dissipate some of the water of the sensitive parts. How much water got on yours? I've gotten spalshes and soap over my screen with no ill side effects.

Mine seems pretty indestructable. Can't even count how many times I've dropped it. Ha. Today I was fishing and dropped it in mud and water. It filled up the USB. Hahaha didn't even flinch. Cleaned it up good to go. No case and no screen protector. Only one minor hairline scratch on the screen. What do you guys put it through?

Same here. :good:
Mine got ripped out of my pocket when my headphones got tangled, and fell on a concrete foot path, and into a small puddle. It got a few tiny scratches around the edges, but other than that its completely fine. I just coloured in the scratches with a black marker, and it looks brand new!

well sold my one v but it was as shiny as new (except a scratch on the back)
Fell from my hands 4 to 5 times (no case)
:good:
Back in April after I rooted it, I was flashing something while walking on a concrete sidewalk (because I'm an idiot), and it fell out of my hands and cracked... but it still works really well!
I think that mine is magical. Sometimes in a rush I stick it into my pocket along with my keys and it gets a few scratches on the metal housing, but they quickly disappear. I'm guessing the marks are from the keys themselves getting worn instead of my the phone getting scratched

mines been in a cheap silicone/plastic case and the screen under a zagg screen protector since fresh out the box, its still perfect
Don't remember how exactly, but water got into the phone and screen once. It dried out and revived after I dumped it into a tub of rice and left it there overnight.
Also, dropped it countless times and there are numerous scratches on the back of the phone. There are still signs of water damage on the LCD, but it's still going strong like a champ. One V ftw!
dropped it a handful of times. still working though.
As you do I was in the bath watching django on mxplayer and I dropped it in the bath :0 turned it off and left it to dry for an hour and bam I'm back watching django, and it still resumed from where I was watching

Luckily I had in in an Otterbox case at the time; but a girl threw me in a pool at a party with it. It took a couple of seconds to get out of my jeans and then she couldn't get it out of the case - but once thrown in rice it never had any problems. That was about a year ago. Also, been dropped a few time lol
Fell a lot but no baths till now

My HOV fell a lot evident from its multiple scratches on its back
But no bath till now hopefully till end:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
