thats screen flex if you still within the "cool off" period take it back for a replacement.
i can confirm this does not happen on my one X no matter how hard i push.
Got my second one today with the same issue. Returned it the same minute I got it. Tomorrow i'm getting my 3rd one, if that fails I'm going for a refund.
I don't see an issue here. Why would you press the phone there at all?
It's not a problem! Mine does it too when pressed on the edge's on the screen. Jees I feel sorry for htc having to replace all these wonderful phone's because some idiot's think the have a faulty device's and then post on you tube. Dumb ass's just be content with this lovely/sexy tech.
*Sigh*
My Samsung Galaxy S did this, My desire HD did this, and so does my One X.
all Marginally, Why is it an issue? Do you need to firmly press the corners of your phone to use it?
Lol.... I think this thread should be closed now.

Sure it will its a LCD but I have to push real hard to get a tiny amount no where near as much as that!

update crash

Hey people,
I've got the opportunity to buy an desire.
The problem is that the phone has crashed during an update.
I won't pass the boot screen.
Can I buy this phone and make it work again?
Or is it a waist of money?
Best regards,
Sven Bakker
Hmm, just a failed update...
It can be, but it doesn't need to be...
Pvt1 device or...
A lot more than you can imagine...
What does the boot screen say? Do you have any response with the volume up down buttons. Is there any fast boot or recovery access?
Sent from my Desire
The only thing i know is that it goes to the boot screen, it shows 3 androids on skateboards.
I dont know if the volume button still Works ( i assume it does )
What do you think? Is it fixable?
It doesnt have to be the google Android. Every costum OS that makers the phone work again is welcome haha
You got to write down what's written on the bootscreen. The volume keys move cursor on the boot screen?
Sent from my Desire
This is the picture of the bootscreen, this is wat the seller was giving me.
What is supose to happen when you press the volume button?

volume buttons just navigate up and down the menu. to get the phone working u have to create a goldcard and run the latest wwe ruu from fastboot. click bortaks troubleshooting guide in my sig and everything u need is there.

Now, seeing that the phone has a well known PVT1 motherboard it can easily be that you got a cracked device, that will eventualy work and update would be pushed after a freezer trick. However it can end up with overheating reboots.
Thanks guys, its good to hear that the phone is fixable.
Thank you for your help!
what is the difrents between a cracked device and a ''normal'' one?
One question left though,
Is it hard to fix it? haha
Thanks in advance!

yes can be fixed but like nlooooo says because its pvt1 model it could be a motherboard problem of over heating which is well known for that model. so this could be why its for sale in that state. so i personaly would not buy it. thats just my opinion

this maybe sounds really stupid to you, but what is the connection between an overheated motherbord, and a failed update?

over heating motherboard = hardware problem and causes phone to bootloop and not work. now if its a failed update then probably tried an ruu or that and it failed

so you think that the guy tried to fix it for himself but due to the hardware problem it failed?

honestly got no idea. buying second hand phone is always dodgy unless u see the phone booted. soo it could be that the phone has overheating motherboard and is broke, thats why hes selling it... or he could be genuine and tried to update it and failed and does'nt have a clue how to fix it. theres no way u can tell untill u get it n try lol. how much does or is the phone gona cost?

The guy wants to sell it for 35 euro's
But what I don't get, when the phone is in the boot screen, then the hardware must be fine, or else it wont go to that screen right?
no because bootloader uses very little power. if it was me id buy it and take a chance for 35 euro. if it works then u got a great deal if it dont then u lose 35 euro which aint that bad, thats just my opinion

The seller said to me that when he leaves the phone for a few days, that sometimes the phone start propperly.
Is this an indication for overheating?

[Q] How to send HTC One X to death?

Hello Guys,
don't ask why! I need a way to brick a HTC ONE X. It does not have to be permanently but at least enough that it can not be restored (besides by HTC themselves). Also it would be nice if it does not leave too obvious traces (so no physical damage).
I thought about a bootloader update (with unplugging the cable in the "wrong" second) but I am open to other suggestions.
I onloy know how to flash Samsung Galaxy Series, so please link to sources for needed software.
Thanks in advance

i saw one on youtube. they are working. surely it will make your one x into a brick (literally)
here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dk4adP2Pi-Q
You can disassemble the phone and using a piece of Aluminium foil or steel wool, connect all the solder connections randomly while the phone is ON until phone suffocates.
If your intentions is wasting the phone for fun then :
1- Look for the HTC logo on the back
2- Make a small "x" exactly 3 mm below the "T"
3- Through the "x" you marked, Drill using a fine 10mm drillbit until you can feel back of the screen
4- Continue drilling until you can see the drillbit on the other side of the phone.
I didnt see any moderators say anything but........ This is not an appropriate question to open post. Not trying to rain on your parade, Im all for getting new stuff. You dont want to get caught up in defrauding AT&T or HTC, google this you'll find alot about people getting caught. If you really need to get a new phone opps it fell in the pooper. Be carefull when asking stuff like this, you really should be asking someone you know via pm or email.

you can try to update your phone with the ruu installer
and in the meddle of the proses ,you can disconnect your phone and it will break

It was an accident and I can tell you.. Its not a good sensation... kkk
Now everything is fixed...

[Q] htc one x screen artifacts????

I live in Sri Lanka, I have the same problem which is in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFvABvJXDc8 My htc one x was only 2 months old and i gave it to the shop where i bought it, they say it is a lcd display screen problem and we have to the change the touch screen of the phone. But i have some doubts and some say that this is a motherboard problem instead, i dont know what to do,which to get replaced, the display or the mother, can you guys here please explain me, which caused this problem and which will solve this problem on the video?????Thank you in advance
graphics artifacts were solved in firmware 1.29 and above
anything else is a broken or defected unit
please can you explain me in detail, whether that issue with the htc one x in that video, is that problem due to the motherboard or the lcd display screen? Please help me
What hamdir is suggesting is that none of the above. Just upgrade your phones firmware to 1.29 or newer and your problem should disappear. If not, then you can send it in for replacement.

HOX Screen problems, help !!! (video/photos attached)

Hi !!
I have a huge problem with my HOX. I've had this for a while and tried two factory resets and I just dont know what to do anymore. I contacted HTC but they said the problem was probably due to an app that I installed. I dont agree so I used the phone today after a factory reset and no installed apps and after a while I got the same problems. Here is a video that sums it all up...........
http://youtu.be/RoypOXbgWBI
Does anyone have a clue to whats wrong and is there a solution for it ???? I will contact HTC again and I want them to check out the phone because I just cannot use it anymore. Oh, and is anyone else having these problems and were they solved ???
Thanks !!

Thank you for your reply. I have just seen at least 6 videos on youtube with the same problem and what I can tell from the comments........there are a lot of people with this problem. I've already send HTC an email and hopefully they are going to acknowledge the problem and replace my phone (fat chance, right ???).
Oh, and I am from The Netherlands so I dont think sending my phone to the USA is a good idea.........but thanks for the suggestion
If you haven't rooted your phone, send it in for warranty...
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Have you rooted your hox ? If you have could be a bad app like htc say, what i would do is make a backup of your current rom dl a rom (viperjb) do a full system wipe flash the zip file then go into fastboot flash the boot.img & dont forget to fastboot erase cache. Then without installing apps see if the problem is still there if it isnt install your apps one by one test again if its there before installing any apps it is proberly a hardware fault so either send it back to your provider or htc. Hope this helps in some way.

Restore your HOX to the stock rom and relock the thing (lots of guides out there) and then contact HTC about your problem if it still exists. I've had good experiences with HTC warranty in the Netherlands (and yes, i was unlocked too). And with good I mean that they weren't whining about it being unlocked, their actual service was very bad..

Right now it's back to a factory reset and nothing else on it and the problem is still there so HTC cannot use the excuse that it's an app that is causing this problem.
