Hardware.

It's not a hardware issue. Haha. The phone just isn't made to run on those networks.

Any way to make the connection "4g only"??

I know I can make it so I only get Edge.. can I make it only be on 4g?? It seems like whenever it starts looking for it the battery dies quicker

Not to my knowledge. Your phone will stay on 4g only when it has the signal for it. For example, you can't "lock" onto 4g in a place that has notoriously poor signal because the signal simply isn't there.
Somebody correct me if I'm mistaken

That's weird because with my T-Mobile galaxy S2 I did have that option !

You can change it to wcdma only. It won't drop down to edge, but if you aren't in a UTMS/HSDPA area you will have no signal.
To change it go to the dailer and pres *#*#4636#*#* and then phone information. Then scroll down to the drop box where it says wcdma preferred and choose wcdma only.

4G LTE for Note 2.

Friends,
I am from India and have a very simple question. Does note 2 in India support 4G LTE here?
I checked with Wikipedia and I found out that it supports 4G.

Hi Bhupen,
Just check with your local carriers, they will let you know if you have 4G in the area you live.
Thanks alot friend.
Airtel provides 4g service in India. But I just wanted to confirm whether note 2 supports 4G or not as per Wikipedia.

The N7100 does not have LTE capabilities. The N7105, however, does.

Gsm i9250m 4G on/off

i just got my Gnex...is there a way to turn off 4G ??...i dont see anything in the settings
That is because it is called 3g.
You want to check 2g under mobile network settings.

HSPA+ is an enhanced form of 3g. If you check to use 2g, that is what AT&T calls Edge service.

ok...thanks!...
Lol the 9250 doesn't have a 4g modem even though t-mobile & at&t market HSPA+ as 4G. 3G and HSPA are the same tech.

[Q] LTE simultaneous voice and data

I thought the Note II handled simultaneous voice/data over 4G. I tried to use it today and couldn't even though I clearly had 4G connection.
Has this worked for anyone else? I'm wondering if I was really connected to the "enhanced" 3G and LTE

Voice and LTE work simultaneously. Or at least on my phone.

I'm thinking that I may have been on the enhanced 3G and not actual LTE. Does your signal show 4G or LTE?
Thanks

It shouldnt matter what 3G your on. Sprint does not have an enhanced 3g (4g). LTE is the only 4g that the Sprint Note 2 has. So if your running LTE it should work.
Oh and the phone doesn't show LTE only 4G icon.

Makes sense. Thanks

This depends on what rom you are on. If stock then it will show 4g.some roms have it show lte when the phone is connected to 4g.
there is simultaneous voice/data over LTE but not on 3g. On a stock rom it will day 4g at the top.
