I had recently unlocked my phone because i've been trying to root it to remove the bloatware that comes on the system. The phone was working fine (for about a couple of days) and suddenly the lock screen shows up static-y looking. Everything still works (kind of). If you know where the slide is to unlock it, you can, and after awhile it goes to normal looks. Also, the device is running semi-buggy and slow. Any ideas / help?
Thanks

I'm having a rather odd problem with my wife's Slide. She was running an older CM7 rom and was having a problem getting the screen to lock. When you press the power button, it would act as if it is going to lock, the screen would go black, but then it brought up the recent programs. Simple problem I though... I downloaded CM7 and got ready to flash it, but over time her SD card has had things deleted and I wasn't able to get to recovery. I loaded the esprimg.zip onto her card thinking that was all I needed to load, but that forced us back to a stock ROM. No worries there, she doesn't care if she has an unrooted stock phone, or CM6 or 7, and I guess I will never have to hear her say the rooted ROM is ruining her phone.
So, now we are stock and the problem still exists. The screen will not lock when using the power button, nor will it lock when it times out. I put the pattern lock on, and still it will not lock, although it will load the pattern lock screen. I've rebooted a couple of times to no avail, and the phone is as stock as can be, no bells or whistles, no strange apps, actually the only market app on the phone is Words with Friends. Has anyone run across this issue, or know of maybe a third party screen lock app that I could try?
Hi,
On my HTC desire:
I was wondering, is there a way to keep the screen on while the phone is locked.
Why i ask, when i am using endomondo running app i want to see times and distances without having to unlock my phone while running.
So if the screen should stay on, but the phone was locked, i could look at times and distances without touching my phone.
Leaving the phone unlocked is not an option, because the phone is in a phonebracket while running. So no keys/touchscreen should be working at that time.
Hi,
Recently, my Desire HD has crapped out during the process of changing my back ground wall paper. It restarted and some how the screen got stuck on lock screen with the screen being totally unresponsive. I can tell the device is "semi-working" as the top bar shows that the phone does all its start up processes and the top lock button works (although it is with a delay).
Is there a reason why this is happening?
Any solution to it? (Yes I have gone through google for 2 hours without solution found)
If I have to resort to hard reset, is there any way I can back up my messages + things in the phone aside from programs before resetting?
Any help would be great!
Thanks in advance!
frozen lockscreen
my desire has done the same thing since rooting and using android rev rom. the only way i got mine to respond was to drop the battery out then put it back in and reboot with the charger plugged in and switched on. as soon as the phone is on, unlock it and use it. this did the trick with me. hope it helps.
A couple days ago I noticed the slide to unlock function stopped working. Sometimes after a rebot it work again. Sometimes opening the gamepad the screen goes to landscape display and it can be unlocked. But today it has gone completely frozen, none of these workarounds seems to work. The phone seems fine, it turns on and off correctly, but since it is locked by default I can't do a thing. Also, I had it to request the SIM pin code at start up, but since it locked it doesn't connect to the network. The only thing that works is holding On/Off button, and selecting shut work with the gamepad.
When it does unlock it only work in landscape mode, when the screen is vertical nothing works!
In other forums this problems seems to be related to HTC phones (mine is Xperia Play, 8 months old, not rooted, v. it ends with 69 I don't know the exact number) or a low battery problem (is fully charged). My guess is that opening and closing the phone to use the gamepad might have damaged some bus cable in the screen. Does anyone ever had a problem like this and know how to fix it, if it software related?
All technology seems to be against me: Windows Phone discontinued support for 6.5 after I got one and now this with Android. iPhone seems the only thing that works "kinda" well and I've never had one

what u can do is update phone using seus [sony ericcson update service] (its easy) or flash stock rom using flashtool
if its a software prob. it will be gone (i had a similar issue on my lg p500 got solved with reflashing rom. by the way i was on custom rom)
I have an AT&T G Pad 7.0 that I rooted and then later unlocked. Right after the network unlock I started having screen issues- the smart cover no longer works and selecting an app causes it to freeze. I changed absolutely nothing else; one minute everything was fine, the next (with a now unlocked device) those issues started up. Any ideas?
