Hey all
Not sure if this has been asked before. ...
According to the Samsung Tectiles app 3.0 or higher.
It states you may lock a tectile or unlock a tile on the same device it was locked on.
However whenever I unlock a tile. ..and get the confirmation that it's unlocked. ..I cannot erase it, cause it comes up is locked! ?!? I'm seeing conflicting information on this online.... is this simply a bug on the app itself I'm assuming. .. hoping a fellow member who has more experience playing around with the tools knows the answer.
Cheers

Hi all,
I had quick question around a simple feature my Desire Z had which i think would be really useful to bring to my Galaxy S2.
With the desire, if the phone was locked and i used my swipe pattern to unlock, the phone would remain unlocked for 5 minutes (also had the ability to set the time). So if i was to use my phone, turn the screen off and then go back again the phone would remain unlocked for 5 mins, which was very usefull when i was tracking the football scores every couple of minutes as i didnt have to re-enter the code.
I was hoping there was an app i could install to replicate this function, or maybe it already exists in the settings but i haven't found it yet!
Any advice appreciated,
Thanks in advance,
Umar

Just search for "DELAYEDLOCK" on android market. It's a great app . support it if you found the trial useful.
thank you,sir.
Edit: I didn't see a way to delete this thread, and I guess it belongs in the Q&A forum. Sorry.
Hello. First post. I hope I searched adequately.
I have a Galaxy Nexus LTE device, and I have been using the face unlock feature. I have taken approx. 25 pics of my face, in various lighting conditions, both with and without my fedora perched upon my noggin, all in an effort to improve the utility, speed and efficacy of the face unlock feature.
My question: Does anyone know how many photos the device/software is capable of using to improve the efficacy of the face unlock feature? I'll just keep adding more examples of my face if it helps, but if the device and/or software (ICS), are only capable of using 5, or 10, or 15 photos as a 'database' of sorts to improve face unlock, then I don't want to keep wasting time adding new examples of my face.
So, does anyone know how many pics the face unlock feature can reference in its use?
Thanks!
Where did you find this option? I can't see it anywhere on my 4.0.1 Nexus.
This may be interesting, I find Face Recognition much more effective if you set up your "face" in a darker environment

No idea but after taking about 4 in various conditions I found that my gnex recognizes my face in all but the darkest conditions

settings> security> improve face matching.
Edit: How are people still on 4.0.1? Is it because you rooted before the OTA that came out on day 1 of release?

Root has nothing to do with it. Some people have the Samsung builds which, to my knowledge, none has received 4.0.2 yet. Also, they stagger releases so not all phones receive the update at the same time.

I have done this a few times and have gotten it perfect, I love face unlock.
To the other questions, this was one of the "lockscreen improvements" on 4.0.2, 4.0.1 does not have it.

Thanks for clearing this out for me.
And to others, I'm pure yakju, UK. Things just seem to move slower here. Possibly Google wants to skip 4.0.2 and focus on 4.0.3 over here?

I wish someone would figure this out too!!
Yeah I was wondering too. I've taken more then 15 pictures with the improve feature.
Have we gotten a valid response to the ?. I would also like to know if taking mulitpule pictures would actually help or if it only keep the most recent like 5. Thank guys.

Where did you ever here of the last 5? Anytime i have a face unreconized, i take another "improve picture". I hope i am not bumping out my older pictures.
I also heard people using 2 people faces and it still works.
FYI: titanium backup works to restore the photos across roms.
Just asking myself, is this a safe method? It's easy, but safe. I wrote an article where describes that it was very easy to unlock a phone just with a picture of the owner. it's only was a issue about the size of the pic, but with some tryings, phone was unlocked but not by the owner himself

I agree with you that it is not 100% unlockable. But it is only unloackable by someone who knows you. If you lose your phone in a taxi it will not be unlocked. If there are people who you live with or work with and not comfortable with them seeing what is on the phone, then it will not work. I have no issues with my kids trying to break into my phone(they have the code anyway to play games).
I do not have my corporate email on MY phone due to their corporate policy that face recognition is not allowed with their email. (My personal policy says i do not need to read work email on my time)
Where is you article?
It is a Dutch article what I found when I was Googling Face Unlock, it was a kinda review site voor Android phones.
glad my boss hasn't found out 'bout face unlock while I'm using my phone as a work phone (and get paid for it)
Will try to find that article an translate it into englisch with Google chrome (can't be worser then my knowledge of englisch hahahah)

They released an extra measure of security in jelly bean by adding a "blink" option, to validate that it's a person and not a picture. But it's not a completely safe method, and you'll notice the phone requires you to make a pattern or PIN lock before it allows you to add a VPN connection.

This may have been asked before, but haven't found any threads on this.
In Gingerbread, when you chose the password unlock option, you got the slide-to-unlock with unlock and silent sliders, and then when you slid the unlock one, you were presented with the password screen. In ICS, you just get the password screen. Is it possible to have both the ring unlock on ICS which leads to the password screen?
Thanks!
newest version of gummy has this feature. Can't say off top of my head where he got it or if he just coded it himself. Might check there first though.

Why the Hell!!! would you want to slide and put in a password every time you use your phone? Coming from an iphone 4 that was the feature I hated the most in GB.
Am I missing something? Please Help me understand why you actually Want That?

Check out the gummy thread, there is a video that may help you understand. Basically, it allows you quick access to the camera and two other shortcuts while maintaining a security option.
I installed unlock with WiFi and it does the slide to unlock and the PIN. So when you are on a home WiFi network you just get the slide to unlock.

Ohhh, I see said the blind man. That actually makes more sense than wanting to go through both (slide and pin/pattern) 20+ times a day. That's what I didn't get.

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone knew of a good app for unlocking the tablet while connected to your home's WiFi? To be clear I would still like a lockscreen, but be to have it that when I leave home it goes back to being pin protected. I tried tasker but it can only disable the lockscreen completely, and while I would settle for that, I was wondering if anyone here knew of a solution! Thanks
Easy to do with Tasker. Best money you will spend if you dive into it. You can make your devices do anything you want.

I couldn't figure out how to make it only unlock but leave my lockscreen there (like it doesn't go straight to home screen when I press unlock button) do you know if that's possible ? I looked around rather quickly because if it didn't have it I wanted to be within refund period :S
Check out this link http://howto.cnet.com/8301-11310_39-57478334-285/the-most-practical-creative-ways-to-use-nfc-with-your-android-device/ . Came across it on FB and just watching the vid showed some of the possibilities for the NFC chip and I think it will do what your looking for.
Seems interesting.. I think the main problem is that disabling security and and leaving lockscreen is not an option sadly so like, it's all or nothing :/ I could live with that I suppose haha but kinda sucks
Have you seen this app? It does exactly as you want and works great, I've had it, and its great

it doesn't support patterns, the only lock I use. PINs and passwords are too slow to enter every time.
Try "Settings Profile" on the app store. Similar to tablet but much easier to use. I use it to do exactly what you describe.

I'm going to treat myself to some NFC tags to see if that will do it
Edit: I knew I'd seen something somewhere http://lifehacker.com/5829514/unloc...om-tedious-phone-passwords-when-youre-at-home

It's basically a bunch of Tasker tasks already programmed. Taller is more powerful, but harder to learn.

why dont they make a apk or zip with the security feature when someone trys to unlock the ur phone with wrong passcode it takes a picture, if the technology is available why not use it. Some people want to be sure that no one touches there phone, just the way i feel thanks, and im going to keep posting my thoughts maybe someone will notice.
Cerberus App, Lookout, and other security apps have the feature you are looking for.

Uh? Dude you understand that we have an *UNLOCKED* bootloader? If you lost your phone it is pretty much toast. Now you wish we had a locked bootloader with KNOX..
