This may have been asked before, but haven't found any threads on this.
In Gingerbread, when you chose the password unlock option, you got the slide-to-unlock with unlock and silent sliders, and then when you slid the unlock one, you were presented with the password screen. In ICS, you just get the password screen. Is it possible to have both the ring unlock on ICS which leads to the password screen?
Thanks!
newest version of gummy has this feature. Can't say off top of my head where he got it or if he just coded it himself. Might check there first though.

Why the Hell!!! would you want to slide and put in a password every time you use your phone? Coming from an iphone 4 that was the feature I hated the most in GB.
Am I missing something? Please Help me understand why you actually Want That?

Check out the gummy thread, there is a video that may help you understand. Basically, it allows you quick access to the camera and two other shortcuts while maintaining a security option.
I installed unlock with WiFi and it does the slide to unlock and the PIN. So when you are on a home WiFi network you just get the slide to unlock.

Ohhh, I see said the blind man. That actually makes more sense than wanting to go through both (slide and pin/pattern) 20+ times a day. That's what I didn't get.

Is it possible to completely disable the red 'you failed' trail that is displayed when you fail at your zigzag pattern? i know my pattern...why in the name of god would i want to display the failed pattern? what is the possible purpose other than to allow others to visualize the baseline idea of your pattern that you deftly just mussed up? why not light up the 4 digits on your ATM keyboard so you can see just which digits you hit vs the ones you intended to hit?
There must be a way to disable the pattern lock visible line. with exception to the period of time allocated to setting and verifying of the pattern to be used...i would think it should never been seen.
There should be an option to "turn visible lines off"....It should be in the same menu as adding the pattern...

This only disables the green line while trying to unlock instead of the red fail line

Correct. I do not want failed attempts to be displayed on the device in a red line... nor do I wish to see the green line.. i have already made the green line go away.. now to hide there red one.

You might want to include the fact that a lot of stuff isn't working with CM.
such as no 4g.......
WiFi not working for everyone.
no HDMI
Why anyone would give up all that, to change the pattern lock settings, is beyond me.
Well if you don't live in a 4G area or don't use HDMI then why not. Personally I'm waiting for a stable version since I use my phone for my business so I cant be using a experimental version for everyday use.

LOL.
I too would like the fail trail to go away. I often miss the last one (because it's just a little bit out of reach) and it basically gives it all away, anyone watching and seeing the red line obviously knows which one I didn't hit.
I could obviously change my pattern so my thumb doesn't have to reach, considering it's also compromised as of late...
I am watching the CM6 development with great interest but am not willing to roll to a pre-Alpah release (according the first post of that thread). yes, i know it is working very well, but do prefer to wait for the RC1 to be available.
I would have posted in the CM 10 nightly build thread but I can't because I am still a newbie and can't post in development threads.
Two relatively simple questions for everyone.
What type of battery life are you guys seeing on the stock cm10 kernel/ the 9-05 nightly?
My other question is, is there a way to bring up a pin unlock screen in conjunction with the slide unlocker launcher? (I searched but couldn't find the answer to this, might just be searching for the wrong thing) After you slide to the right to unlock it brings up a screen that lets you enter in your pin. I believe that those of you that had cm7 should remember this functionality and ideally I would like to keep the option of opening up other apps from the unlock screen as well as have a pin to unlock my screen.
Observation about the flicker that I was going to put in the development thread: screen flickers after switching from the camera. (CM10, 9/05 nightly, stock cm10 kernel)

Not sure what answer you are looking for here (subjective), but seems to be good. Sleeping, it is using ~1%/hour.

Screen flickers still happen, for some people more than others, and not at all for some people. It isn't bad enough to make me want to stop using it.

I know this is couple months old but thanks for the answer with the "show widgets before unlock"!
I have spent the last week or so searching for a solution to my question, but I have yet to find it. In short, I want to replicate the 'famous' lock screen from the TV show "Sherlock". When unlocked, it looks like this: i. imgur. com/HihXp. png. When the 'sleep' button is pressed on the device while it is already alseep, it wakes to this screen, minus the letters 'SHER', with the keyboard open. I'm trying to figure out if it is at all possible to do this, rooting or no, without me being forced to effectually code a new lock screen. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Sherlocked Lockscreen
Might wanna take a look at this app on google play. Try searching "SherLOCKED Lockscreen". It's a working lockscreen by the way.
Hi guys, when i bought my oppo find 7a 1 month ago, i was searching for some tips and tricks on youtube and found out that you basically never have to touch the power button to lock or unlock the phone. Just double tap anywhere on the screen to unlock and double tap the home button to lock. This simple tip makes it so easy and quick to lock/unlock faster (really helpfull since it's a big phone).
Maybe you will find it weird, but it makes me love the phone so much more just because of that. I don't know if other phones does that? I am so used to this tip now that i always double tap as a reflex when i use my friend's phone from other brands and then realise that it doesn't work.
If you didn't know this trick, maybe it will feel weird for a some times to develop this reflex of double taping, but try it and you'll love it after some time.
I guess that nobody reads instructions manuals anymore...

Welcome to the forum. Did you also know that drawing a circle on the screen while the screen is off will launch the camera, drawing the letter 'v' will toggle the flashlight on/off
By going in to settings then about phone and tapping on android version 5 times in a row will bring up a cool secret easter egg from Google
I honestly don't know if this is the right place to ask, but I'm not sure where else I can post. CM13 in the 910V is unofficial, so I don't think I can ask on the CM forums.
I installed CM13 (the one from the 910V XDA section) in a dual-boot with stock 5.1.1. I'm still setting things up, but so far it works amazingly. I finally got to setting up fingerprints, since I saw they were supported. However, I noticed that the lockscreen doesn't have a fingerprint option. I know fingerprints aren't really that secure and all, but it's convenient and fun .
My question is: is there any way to make it so I can unlock my SM-N910V on CyanogenMod 13 using the fingerprint scanner, or do I have to settle for a pin, pattern or password while I'm in it?
Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask. If there's somewhere better, please direct me. I don't know what I'm doing ;P

I was dying to figure this out too.... inside the CM 13 post there are a couple posts of the trick....
The trick is to go to settings then select finger print and scan your finger super fast to register/enroll the print... once you got tat and a pin/password it should show up.. thanks to hsbadr & devinakatouch01
hsbadr said:
Not quoting the above posts because all are about fingerprint.
To successfuly enroll your fingerprint and use it to wake and unlock the device, ignore the Setup wizard and add fingerprint(s) from Settings / Lock screen until it reports "1 fingerprint set up". Try to use only one pattern (swipe your fingertip over the home key in the same way/direction)! Then, power off the screen before testing it.

As far as fingerprint goes you have to swipe really fast and a couple of times as you swipe for your "last" fingerprint .. Then it will appear that you have 1 fingerprint set up. I have multiple set up and they all work flawlessly. Image shows the point where it's asking for your last swipe and u swipe multiple times and kind of fast and it will set up correctly

I'm not sure I understand. Would you mind clarifying it a bit for me?
EDIT:
So it says I have one fingerprint enrolled, which I realize it didn't say before. It now works! Thanks
