Hi guys,
I wonder if anyone encountered a simillar problem. My battery stats keeps reseting after every reboot. Sometimes the battery will change from 98% to 100% after a reboot.
Ive reflashed rom and factory reset but no clue what is wrong. Im on LL7 stock deodexed rom.
Anyone knows a fix?

It's Android's ecosystem. As long as your battery is in between 90-100%, a reboot or a USB plug in will reset the battery stats. When the level reaches below 90% it won't reset anymore.

I have been using gingervillain for a few weeks now and just updated to 2.3. I have noticed a problem with the battery. When the battery runs down to 15% the phone powers down. After plugging in to charge the charging starts from 0%. I think the phone is misreading the battery stats (thinking there is 15% left when its actually empty). I have tried the battery calibration app but this doesn't solve the problem. Had anyone had this problem our know any solutions?
Cheers
Mike

You can wipe battery stats in recovery. They say its best to do it before flashing a rom, but worth a go for sure! The option is under "advanced" if I remember.
Cheers, will give that a try, I thought that was what the app I tried was supposed to do but will give it a go anyway. Thanks.
That seems to have done the trick. I wiped the stats in recovery them re flashed and it seems top have worked. Thanks for the help.
Mike.
Hi.
Just flashed my Desire to LeeDroid 3.0.8.2
In Settings > About Phone > Battery > Battery Use , shouldnt it say charging while the phone is charging? I remember it used to be like that in 2.2. And I've been charging my phone but at the top where the graph is, says 13h 41m on battery.
I think it shuold be reset after I unplug or finished charging. At the bottom also displays the list of apps that have been using the battery.
I've reboot the phone, took off the battery. It just doesnt reset!
Is anyone experiencing the same problem?
addition :
when I press the graph at the top of the screen in Battery Use, it shows a graph.
At the top , it says , 13h 42m 36s on battery , at the bottom of the graph it says 17h 33m 59s.
If I remember clearly, 17hours ago was the time that I've successfully flashed to LeeDroid. Meaning ,it did not reset ever since!
Someone please help or comment.
update :
in recovery, wiping out battery stats reset it. However, it is still not functioning properly.
here's what ive noticed.
1. when I plug in the charger, the stats freezes regardless if I press refresh.
2. after unplugging, and did a pressed menu button > refresh in "Battery Use" , it updates, but resumes the time on battery.
Any help? Has it got anything to do with S-off? I did not do it. :|

Yes I have!
Update : I installed Cyanogenmod too, same thing. Now doing S-Off, will update this thread soon!
Update :
S-off, but still no luck. I dont know whats going on. I even cleared battery stats in recovery. That will reset the numbers in Battery Use.
Please let me know , when phone is charging, under Battery Use , does it say charging? or anything? And after unplugging the charger, will it say time since unplugged? Mine just continues the timer "xm xs on battery"
update :
Ive managed to get S-OFF, ive cleared everything, isntalled different roms(cyanogen)
now back to LeeDroid...
still the same,
I GIVE UP..

After using odin to go back to ec05 and returning to srf 1.2, everything was pretty stable and I am pretty happy with the result. Today I had something strange happen, I booted up voltage controll and it said it was asking for super user rights like it always does except it was just hanging there thinking. Also my albums in my picture gallery would not load. So I held the power button down and chose the reboot button not the turn off. When it booted back up my battery said it only had 5% left, before reboot I had 35%. So what the heck, why would it do that.
First, did u update super user in market, and then go into super user app and update the binary?

Its an improper display if you boot into cwm and wipe battery stats it would have showed the proper battery also next time you charge your phone play with it once it reaches 100% and leave it on the charger for an extra 20-40 minutes and then you battery should be back to normal. Side note get off of froyo where no longer in the dark ages bud

It is a bug that has been reported hundreds of times. Plug into a charger and reboot back to where you were or leave battery out for 5 minutes and reboot. Wish people could search for this but know the search function is not great.

Yeah, but that is not the OPs issue. There is a bug in CWM and the battery stats that when you reboot below a certain percantage...let's say 70, it will incorrectly drop to a very low percentage. This is easily avoided by rebooting connected to a charger or can be resolved by removing the battery for a few minutes. It will go back to where it was. All the wiping and recalibrating in the world will not resolve this bug. It is just a glitch.
ok i am having a problem. all my apps are fc. phone app message app. the message i get is" google service framework(process com.google.process.gapps) has stopped unexpectedly" help please
i am runing era legendary rc 2.2 samurai
Easiest fix is Factory data reset and set your phone back up. If you can get to Titanium Backup you could just try to wipe data in Google Framework Services.

Ok thanks did that. But now it seem that my battery is draining fast. With wifi off screen on 10 mins. Battery falls 10% in 30 min. Not on the phone or surfing just draing. Would that be Fromthe reset?

Just drain it down and recharge and see if problem persists...

Also if you are going to leave your screen on like that make sure your brightness is down. The biggest drain on our phones is the display.

Ok I did that and it is still draining fast even with the brightness down on the lowest setting. And if it is just idle. It drains the funny thing is that it charges really fast. So I was just going to wipe the battery stat. Any other ideas?

Get betterbatterystats from the following thread and see if some process is running or trying to sync that is killing your battery:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809
Download that app. I have not seen it change anything. I watch my stock battery and it drops a whole % in 4 mins. And my extend battery drops a % ever 40 mins. That is with no wifi, gaming, browser or music or anything. I need help.

I think you misunderstood... the app doesn't help with battery life... it is a tool to help you pin down an app that could be running in the background and syncing data and killing your battery... just installing the app doesn't help you have to check process and wakelocks and determine what the offending app is...

Yeah, what Flast said it's a tool to find out what is using your battery but from what you posted it looks like your stock battery is bad. Your extended battery appears fine.
yea i did not read the app. thanks. do you think my problem has anything to do with the new problem i am having. when i have my phone on wifi it will keep jumping on and of.. reset the router and everything is fine just my phone.

The battery issue should be unrelated. Try assigning a static IP to your phone's connection. That is the only way mine will always connect.

My phone was all fine, till i flashed Arco's CM10, then my phone started randomly switching off. When started, it showed 0% battery, which was weird as it was always properly charged.
Then i restored my CM9 backup, to check if it was a ROM bug, but I got the same error again.
Attached screenshot for battery stats. Battery problem or Software bug ? Anyone with same bug ?
After flashing the ROM, did you wipe battery stats? If not, that will probably be the cause of the weird readings......
Basically, over time, your phone would have calibrated the battery usage to your previous ROM....when you installed your new ROM (that has different battery usage patterns) your phone is still trying to apply the stats from the old ROM which is what is causing the problems.....wipe your battery stats then complete 3 or 4 full charge - full discharge cycles, and things *should* settle down....
From my Galaxy W on CM9 and CWM6 with Tapatalk 2
Tried that...
But it gets weirder and weirder :/

Try the battery calibrator on the playstore.
If it still persist then the problem is in your battery.. suggest you change the battery with the new one
Pressing "Thanks" button will be much appreciated if user's posts useful for you
Or you can try this:
Clear battery stats via CWM. Turn off your phone, and charge it. Wait until the charge indicator shows up on screen. Then turn on your phone and leave it until it's full.
Sometimes when I get batt weird reading, that trick works for me.
In some occasion I found that offline charging and online charging shows different battery level.
when should i plug the cable if use ur trick?

Clear the battery stats first via cwm then turn off your phone after that you can plug in your charger.

Just like reddvilzz said above. After charge indicator shows up on screen, turn on your phone (but do not unplug the charge) and leave it until it's full.
