My phone was all fine, till i flashed Arco's CM10, then my phone started randomly switching off. When started, it showed 0% battery, which was weird as it was always properly charged.
Then i restored my CM9 backup, to check if it was a ROM bug, but I got the same error again.
Attached screenshot for battery stats. Battery problem or Software bug ? Anyone with same bug ?
After flashing the ROM, did you wipe battery stats? If not, that will probably be the cause of the weird readings......
Basically, over time, your phone would have calibrated the battery usage to your previous ROM....when you installed your new ROM (that has different battery usage patterns) your phone is still trying to apply the stats from the old ROM which is what is causing the problems.....wipe your battery stats then complete 3 or 4 full charge - full discharge cycles, and things *should* settle down....

Tried that...
But it gets weirder and weirder :/

Try the battery calibrator on the playstore.
If it still persist then the problem is in your battery.. suggest you change the battery with the new one
Pressing "Thanks" button will be much appreciated if user's posts useful for you
Or you can try this:
Clear battery stats via CWM. Turn off your phone, and charge it. Wait until the charge indicator shows up on screen. Then turn on your phone and leave it until it's full.
Sometimes when I get batt weird reading, that trick works for me.
In some occasion I found that offline charging and online charging shows different battery level.
when should i plug the cable if use ur trick?

Clear the battery stats first via cwm then turn off your phone after that you can plug in your charger.

Just like reddvilzz said above. After charge indicator shows up on screen, turn on your phone (but do not unplug the charge) and leave it until it's full.

Recently I had a big problem with my Google Play Store and couldn't download anything or play videos in the youtube app.In desperation to find a fix I relashed my ROM with Odin, did a factory reset before clearing the dalvik cache which seemed to fix it.Because of this I had to re-root and uninstall lots of bloat and set up the V6 script. My phone is running almost perfect now except since that ordeal my battery life isnt what it used to be.It drains terribly even on moderate use. Before all the problems,I had de-bloated and was easily getting over 24hrs on light-moderate usage. Now I'm lucky to get 14hrs and can drain the whole thing in under 5hrs on heavy usage.I check the battery usage stats and the closest thing to the display is Android system.Could it be the ROM posted on this forum is more juice hungry than what I had before, even though its the exact same FW(2.3.6 XEU XXLA2)?Its the only reason I can think of since everything else is in order.Any ideas guys?

Hi got this tip from the galaxy ace forum "barebone ics sunday". If it helps you can try it; I've tried it and somehow managed to get a bit more juice. On moderate - heavy usage (talktime > 1.5hrs, > 25sms, email polling every 3 hours, 15mins playing PES + vid clip 5-10mins, + some calculator work) I was able to get my phone to stay alive for 15-16hrs..maybe 'cos got rid some bloatware may have somehow extended standby time..just give it a shot..it may help a bit..

Yes I've tried it on my Galaxy Ace and applied the same set of procedures on my W.
Yes, positive feedback I'd say, although the difference is very subtle/small.
Maybe others can give it a try and report if they feel the difference.
On the ACE it was remarkable maybe because the ROM was stripped down to the bare-bone i.e. No calculator, No Calendar, No Gallery, etc.

Worked for me on my WF using CM 7!
Okay I will try this, nut what about app Battery Calibration, does it work ?
Don't use an app because it is software based, but the guide i've posted is hardware based!
Ok thanks for the information !

1. While in Android, charge up to 100% and leave the phone plugged in.
it dosen't charge up to 100% to use this method
In this case 100% are the maximum you can reach. You can check the exact battery status in system settings!

1. Sorry, haven't thought about that. Yes, it has to be rooted.
2. If your phone is rooted you can find it with root explorer.
3. Yes, for rooting your phone needs to be S-OFF
Maybe you can use that one - found it in another topic:
1. Power on your phone then connect to your Charger and Fully charge until the LED changes Green.
2. Disconnect your phone from the charger and then power off.
3. Reconnect your phone to your charger with the power off and wait for the green LED.
4. Disconnect the phone from the charger and power it on.
5. Once the phone has fully booted / ready to use ... power off again.
6. With the power off connect the phone to the charger and wait for the green LED.
7. Disconnect from the Charger then power on and use normally.
Needs no root, but I haven't tried that yet. Most of the users said that it worked, but keep in mind that battery calibration can always damage your battery.
My battery never charge up to 100% last time i saw green light from fulfully charged phone was last year. I can charge it for 48 hours turned of it still wont be green
Which status is shown in phone->status->battery status?

Maybe your battery has worn out which is one of the causes for battd/cc_file to read incorrect battery data from battery daemon and display it.
In that case the sudden bump it shows can be reduced but technically it won't help much.
Okay, I currently run CM10, about a week ago I flashed another developers version of CM10, and started having battery percentage reporting issues while charging, So I flashed back to the original ROM, formatted, cleaned battery stats and for some reason the battery will charge up to like 75-80% and stop reporting the correct percentage until I reboot the phone, even when back on the old ROM, I am using simonssimons34 ION kernel, which running it before with the old ROM, reported fine, so I don't think it has anything to do with the kernel.
I have almost always let this battery deplete to about 1-2% before a charge, and never over charged it, so I am a little annoyed that my battery stats are mis-reporting now until I reboot. Is there any fix for this? Or do I need to try another ROM or something? It only reports incorrectly while recharging, it depletes normally and never has issues with that.
This happens to me every day. Learn to live with it.

You can clear battery stats in recovery. There's also a few root apps that let you do this. (search for clear battery stats)
It'll take a while for it to rebuild accurate battery stats, but it sounds like at the moment any fresh stats is better than what you have now.
You can try calibrate with this app:

I've laready tried as both of you have suggested before, and it hasn't helped me yet, I did it two ways I did battery wipe in recovery, and through a 3rd party app, but the phone still wants to stop reporting the correct percentage until I reboot my phone.
And I even tried letting hte phone completely deplete after wiping battery stats, and it's still wonky ='(.
Ugh this is soooo annoying ffs, anyone ever had any luck on fixing this issue? I've tried:
Flashing two different ROM's, nothing
Charging, rebooting wiping stats, calibrating, draining to 0, rebooting, nothing
Using calibration apps
None of this has worked for me what so ever, the only thing that seems to work is rebooting after the phone has stopped reporting then it will show 99% then charged.
What I don't get is it will charge to 100% if the phones off, but if it's on the phone reports an incorrect percentage, wth?
I am about to try a full RUU reflash and see if that will fix it, but that's a last resort. HELP PLEASE!

Calibrating the battery on Android devices
Method for rooted devices:
1. Discharge your phone fully until it turns itself off.
2. Turn it on and let it turn off again.
3. Plug your phone into a charger and, without turning it on, let it charge until the on-screen or LED indicator says 100 percent.
4. Unplug your charger.
5. Turn your phone on. It's likely that the battery indicator won't say 100 percent, so plug the charger back in (leave your phone on) and continue charging until it says 100 percent on the screen as well.
6. Unplug your phone and reboot. If it doesn't say 100 percent, plug the charger back in until it says 100 percent on screen.
7. You want to repeat this cycle until it says 100 percent (or as close as you think it's going to get) when you start it up without being plugged in.
8. Now, install the Battery Calibration app attached below and, before you launch it, make sure your battery is at 100 percent again, then reboot.
9. Immediately launch the app and recalibrate your battery stats.
10. Once you've calibrated your battery, discharge it all the way down to 0 percent and let your phone turn off again.
11. Fully charge the battery one more time without interruption while it's switched off, and the Android system's battery percentage will be reset.
Note that all the app does is wipe the accumulated data from the batterystats.bin file giving you a new clean slate to work with. This method is also called, "training the battery" and should be performed infrequently. Maybe once every four months or so.
