asphalt 7 looks crap - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

so i have a t889v and ive been playing asphalt 7 quite a bit, even comparing it to people playing on old S2s it seems to look better than it does on my phone
does anyone else experience this issue? on my phone it looks almost like im playing on a nexus 7 only without lag...

Looks fine on my device. What is it not doing for you?

Will tough case from case mate make reception worse?

Technically does putting any case on work against reception? Reason I ask is because I am with a new company here in Canada called Wind mobil and they are still putting towers up so signal strength isint that great to begin with I just dont want to make it worse.

how much bulk does it add? just enough?
and is it a very nice fit?
adds 1.5x the thickness, just bulky enough so it doesnt slip out of my hand
my only complain is the power button is bit hard to locate with the case; but overall im pretty happy with it
I know aluminum cases can affect signal strength but rubber and plastic, I dont think so. I have the tough case and I found that the vibrant gets really warm inside of the case. My phone was randomly resetting itself and the touch screen was not resonding to my touches. So i took the case off the phone and Voila, the phone acts normal again. So to all the tough case owners out there, if your phone is acting up, try taking the case off and see if it returns to normal. And just for clarification, I work in a 70 degree enviornment so it has not spent any time anywhere where there is excessive heat. My assumption based on this whole episode is that the vibrant, which is a very warm phone to begin with doesnt have any way to dissipate heat inside of the tough case.

hmm... not my case... although the phone does get quite hot from extensive game playing from time to time while in the case (i blame the rubber thing in the tough case), but never experience random reset or screen not responding

ya it don't add much bulkyness at all !the case look's thicker in the picture's than it is! i was surprised my self !yes it is just enough phone feel's better to me with the case.i did like how thin the phone is but this case help's me have a better hold of it .as for the fit .you can't go wrong very well made and fit is perfect .i was a little hasty when i seen the price but know it is well worth the cash for it !well hope this helps ya
I live in Florida an have left my phone on my dash on very hot days with the tough case. SetCPU has shown over 135° temps and my phone hasnt rebooted one time.

Well the point of my post is only for people who are experiencing the same problems that i had (which hasnt happened again). If your phone isnt experiencing these sort of problems then this post wasnt for you. So for people to comment on the fact that their phones work perfectly are missing the point of the post. That is unless they just like hearing themselves speak lol.
Does putting a case on make the phone work harder to get reception on a technical level that is? Like I said my carrier is new to the country and has some dead spots and is working to put more towers in (windmobile) thats why my major concern is reception (battery drain).
The point of the post that has no relevance to the op? The case mate cases have their own thread going in this same section.
By the way, my signal is no different than before I put the case on.

imo no,it won't make the phone work harder at all.your battery life will not change at all just by putting this case on or any case on it .your phone will get the same reception as it does now .so go get it you won't be sorry. if you get lost reception it will be from the your service provider not the phone/case. well let us know if ya get one .
Thanks I ordered one

Not a bad idea if you're in a boat a lot (specifically a speed boat or other boat where you get a lot of spray). That said, it has very limited practical uses. These "cases" have been around for quite a while, though, with the various phones.
I didn't know this. They just seem cheaply made. Like a zip lock bag..

They are much thicker than a zippy. REI sells them as well as other outdoor retailers. To market this for any specific phone and mark it up is a **** move.

look into pelican cases. those things are solid. water proof and crush proof. i think you would have to take your phone out of the case to use it, but other than that, the cases work great.

you... THINK? XD
I bought one of these a while back. It works great except for if you leave your phone in it for a while, the case will ad hear itself to the screen protector if you have one and pull it off when you take it out of the case. Other then that I think it's a good investment if you're out on the water a lot. I can use my phone in the case as well.

There's a cheaper one thats a non-brand, and works as well. Just search for a bluetooth keyboard on Amazon. It's called the Vostrostone Aluminum Bluetooth Keyboard, but really, there are comparable ones that are about the same quality without the big brand name.
I have this keyboard and find it really good due to the spaced out keys. http://www.amazon.de/Cherry-JK-0600...VFOM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1361754736&sr=8-1

Ok so here's my feedback after about a week or two of use.
- It's a solid keyboard case (not as good as the Zagg/Logitech cases I used to own when I had an iPad) but it's about 80% there in terms of build quality.
- the velcro holding the keyboard in place is a little on the flimsy side so a good knock could force the keyboard to disconnect, but it hasn't been a problem for me so far
- Using it in your lap on the couch can be a bit challenging as the tablet will sit at a pretty steep angle against the top of the keyboard and may fall backwards if you fidget too much. I was used to the hard keyboard lip in the case of the zaggfolio for the ipad which kept the ipad in place with significant fidgeting. Not a major issue though.
- Battery life on the keyboard is fine for 3 or so weeks if you use it every day for some typing
- the leather of the case feels a little cheap but again that's just me being picky
- Finally something very odd seems to have cropped up, and I'm correlating it to about the same time I started using the case. My gmail app will randomly crash (when I am in another app) and the tablet will freeze for 5 seconds and then give a popup window telling me that it crashed, I just click ok and carry on... but I don't remember ever having this issue before I got the case. I think it may somehow be correlated to the magnets in the case (to keep the little flap/clasp down when the tablet is being used) affecting the tablet somehow but I am not sure. I'll try to go a few days without it to see if it makes a difference but I'm getting quite used to it now!
All things begin said, this is definitely the best combo available for the Note 10.1 that I've found to date and I've scoured the internet for months.... I've also begged Zagg to make one but they aren't seeing enough interest to justify it yet.

That would be extremely unlikely. It's probably due to a syncing issue between your tablet and Google's servers.

hmm.... I only jumped to that conclusion because I never noticed the problem in any real frequency before getting the case... I cleared cache in the app settings and I'm still having the issue. I was hoping I wouldn't have to clear data because it took a lot of time setting up my corp email (we use gmail) folders and settings.... but I may have to try that if this persists.

I wouldn't. Data wipes are hardly ever necessary, with the exception of full-on bootloops.
Google "google sync errors" first. Does it happen when your BT is off?
good
So I haven't correlated it to BT being on or off but perhaps it is related to the BT because I only noticed it when I started using the keyboard or when it interferes with watching a video (usually when I'm on the treadmill using a BT headset).... so perhaps it is tied to BT being on... I'll use the tablet for a while tomorrow with BT being off to see if that makes a difference.

Fragile?

So, I'm looking at getting the Optimus G, but have a few reservations, the biggest of which is the glass panel on the back. I'm wondering from you guys about real-world usage is this something I should be worried about. I don't like cases because they add too much bulk and I'm normal in that drops my phone on the concrete from time to time. Also, I've got young kids which, unfortunately, can lead to some extra drops. Should I be worried about the glass on the back cracking? Any advise would be much appreciated!
A few other reservations are related to the non-upgradable storage and non-removable battery, but I think I'm okay with those.
I have had this phone since it was released and I hardly ever have my bumper case on it and I've dropped it and have never had an issue. I don't know what it is with this phone but it seems indestructible.
I'm not one to drop my phone so I can't personally say anything about the durability of the phone after a drop. But I do know its a mixed bag. And judging from what you said, you drop your phone quite frequently. In which case, I can't recommend this phone for you. This isn't like other phones where if you crack the screen you can still use it. It becomes unresponsive. So my opinion, this phone is a no go for you.

Other people would beg to differ I'm sure.
Most of the time I use a pretty cheap rubber case by Diztronic. I've dropped it a few times from a few feet up onto concrete in this case, and it's been totally fine. That said, I don't know how it would fare without the case. You really should have a case for any phone you get, though. Particularly if it's glass. But there's nothing about this phone that makes it more fragile than the other glass guy.
Thanks!
Thanks for the information! I wouldn't say I'm a frequent dropper, but I do keep my phones for 2 years for the upgrade and in that time there are a number of drops. Thanks again!
I have an otter box on my phone. The other day I was running on my treadmill and using my phone to listen to some tunes when it fell out of my pocket on to the treadmill and hit a wall. Its still in perfect condition.

I didn't get a case at first and dropped it like 4 feet onto concrete right in the corner. The front broke but the back was fine. Now I have a case and I'm not worried about it at all

I have the lg bumper, have dropped it from 4 feet or so several times and its still in great shape save for a few scuffs on the bumper. Anyone notice that the phone itself creaks when you press on the back though? still solid but kinda weird

I have the diztronic case mentioned earlier. The phone is a little more awkward with it but I feel safer with it on. Plus it is nice to have the phone lie flat on a table or desk.

Twisted Pixel

I carry my Pixel XL in my left pants pocket with baggy jeans and I've been noticing when I lay my pixel on a flat surface that it's twisted a bit. If I push on a corner it will rock back and forth corner to corner. If I give it a slight tweak with my hands it will go back to normal. I thought maybe it was just my case moving around a bit but I popped the phone out of the case and it does it without the case too. I confirmed with one other person that theirs is doing the same thing. I never had this issue with my 6P. Just wondering if anyone else had noticed this.

hmmm, that isn't good. I would contact google. Surprising considering how well it held up in the jerryrigeverything test.

I've tried it on multiple surfaces with and without the case. At first I thought it was the case sliding around (ringke fusion) but it did it without the case. Also another person I know is seeing the same thing and runs their phone naked.

Well considering the pixel is thicker at the top than front. The slightest displacement in a surface will make it rock

Right but when I give it a tweak with my hands very lightly it will then lay flat. I've tried it on at least 10 different surfaces too. I think a few of them would have been flat at least.

I do t see how you could possibly twist the phone. It seemed very durable in all the test
I saw one pixel that sold on swappa with damaged corners from it being dropped. When I looked at the pictures, I asked the OP if it was twisted or an illusion, obviously no reply.. But it was severely twisted.
Mine is so extremely subtile that it's hard to see but I can look across the screen from one end to the other and see that there's a slight twist.

I'm glad it's not just me then. I was going to try and get a video of mine soon too, but thanks for posting a video of yours. What I see with yours is exactly what mine is doing. If i give it a little gentle tweak it's right back to normal.
