There's a cheaper one thats a non-brand, and works as well. Just search for a bluetooth keyboard on Amazon. It's called the Vostrostone Aluminum Bluetooth Keyboard, but really, there are comparable ones that are about the same quality without the big brand name.

I have this keyboard and find it really good due to the spaced out keys. http://www.amazon.de/Cherry-JK-0600...VFOM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1361754736&sr=8-1

Ok so here's my feedback after about a week or two of use.
- It's a solid keyboard case (not as good as the Zagg/Logitech cases I used to own when I had an iPad) but it's about 80% there in terms of build quality.
- the velcro holding the keyboard in place is a little on the flimsy side so a good knock could force the keyboard to disconnect, but it hasn't been a problem for me so far
- Using it in your lap on the couch can be a bit challenging as the tablet will sit at a pretty steep angle against the top of the keyboard and may fall backwards if you fidget too much. I was used to the hard keyboard lip in the case of the zaggfolio for the ipad which kept the ipad in place with significant fidgeting. Not a major issue though.
- Battery life on the keyboard is fine for 3 or so weeks if you use it every day for some typing
- the leather of the case feels a little cheap but again that's just me being picky
- Finally something very odd seems to have cropped up, and I'm correlating it to about the same time I started using the case. My gmail app will randomly crash (when I am in another app) and the tablet will freeze for 5 seconds and then give a popup window telling me that it crashed, I just click ok and carry on... but I don't remember ever having this issue before I got the case. I think it may somehow be correlated to the magnets in the case (to keep the little flap/clasp down when the tablet is being used) affecting the tablet somehow but I am not sure. I'll try to go a few days without it to see if it makes a difference but I'm getting quite used to it now!
All things begin said, this is definitely the best combo available for the Note 10.1 that I've found to date and I've scoured the internet for months.... I've also begged Zagg to make one but they aren't seeing enough interest to justify it yet.

That would be extremely unlikely. It's probably due to a syncing issue between your tablet and Google's servers.

hmm.... I only jumped to that conclusion because I never noticed the problem in any real frequency before getting the case... I cleared cache in the app settings and I'm still having the issue. I was hoping I wouldn't have to clear data because it took a lot of time setting up my corp email (we use gmail) folders and settings.... but I may have to try that if this persists.

I wouldn't. Data wipes are hardly ever necessary, with the exception of full-on bootloops.
Google "google sync errors" first. Does it happen when your BT is off?

good

So I haven't correlated it to BT being on or off but perhaps it is related to the BT because I only noticed it when I started using the keyboard or when it interferes with watching a video (usually when I'm on the treadmill using a BT headset).... so perhaps it is tied to BT being on... I'll use the tablet for a while tomorrow with BT being off to see if that makes a difference.

Are these keyboards any good ?

So I got a 10.1v model, not the standard 10.1 so pretty much any keyboard that would need the tab to slide into it is a no-go for me as the 10.1v is a few milliliters thicker.
So, unless you point me to anything else, this is the only keyboard I've encountered that I could use that is somewhat "tied" to the tablet :

These are chinese products and I'm afraid of its quality, but I don't have a choice.
Did one of you guys purchased one of these ? Are they any good ?
I tried to find something but nothing...I could go with a "floating" bluetooth keyboard is the quality is better.
Thanks !
I used this one for while, until I returned it- no complaints. I just didn't need it.

I have the original Keyboard-Case combo, meaning this:
uh can't post links, so here is the name: Samsung BKC-1B1DEBGXEG Bluetooth keyboard ...
Go out and buy it, it's awesome!
Bluetooth connection is really easy, it has a fast wake up (and you can wake your device up by pressing any key [this even unlocks a non-protection screenlock] whoo!) and a humongous long battery duration.
Additionally, the build quality is very fine!

Thinking that this might be stupid / crazy..
Well, I dont know whether this is the best thread to post this.. Please let me know if there's any other thread that to which this post has to be moved..
So my crazy / stupid question is ---
Has anyone tried using the asus keyboard dock with the samsung galaxy tab ?
I think this may be something stupid becoz i am already thinking that the charging port for both the tabs are totally different and this may not work at all..
Still I am just curious to know whether this has been tried by anybody...

To answer the OP's question... I just got one from eBay for $26 US. It works very well. For that much money, it's hard to beat. Your CDMA GT should fit in it just fine. Both the keybaord and the case are good quality, and can't be beat for that much money.
I do see one potential problem, however. When the case is latched closed the rubber (soft plastic) bracket that supports the base of the tablet comes into contact the screen and does exert a slight amount of pressure on the screen. Over time I am guessing that may damage the screen, but I'm just guessing - not sure about that at all.
Actually, I like the standard Samsung book case the best for the Galaxy Tab, and I don't always need the keyboard. So I'm going to take the little rubber keyboard out of this case and carry that separately. For $26, even that is a great buy.
This case/keyboard is sold under a bunch of brand names. Here is a bunch of reviews on Amazon, if you like to read them.
Hey Dan,
I've been using the Mobile Keyboard 6000 from Microsoft for a few weeks now.
The price is a bit overkill but sure worth the quality you get. And the number pad being detached from the letters is a nice feature if your on the go all the time, leaving the number pad behind is sometimes a plus. It is slightly bigger then the tablet itself but i don't mind since also use it for at home.
Ive been rocking the typing book cover for 2 days now, and so far i like it aside from a few things. But its not putting me off of it with its sleek tight fit.
The main issue is that there is no place to hold a stylus. (PS definitely worth the 20 bones to pick one up) and second, when it is being held in its typing arrangement, you cannot have anything plugged in besides the headphones. It does have a small slit so that the headphone jack doesn't have to be removed and put back in every time but they didn't do the same for the charger/accessory port.
Cheers!

I just picked the same one up at Target for $30 on clearance yesterday. Not a fan and I wouldn't recommend it. The cookie-sheet case feels flimsy and it doesn't protect the back of the tablet at all. The metal edges are kind of sharp (not knife sharp) but I have to be careful not to scratch the sides of my tab when putting it face down in this case. I also don't feel that it's very secured when closed (tablet face down). The keyboard works alright, it's very responsive, and it pairs easily and maintains it's connection, but some of the dedicated buttons don't work. I also would rather re-map some of the android keys such as the email button to open gmail. Maybe I can, but haven't looked into it. I guess it's ok if you're looking for a cheap bluetooth keyboard, but I don't trust it to protect my tablet. Idk how logitech justified this as a $100 case.
**edit** Been using this case with the blueputdroid app on my phone as a mouse and am loving it!

S-Pen Calibration Help Needed.

Hi, I've had my galaxy note 2 for about a month now and I absolutely love it. I love the fact where I can pull out the S-Pen and take a note. The problem I'm facing is that on the left side of the screen towords the bottom it seems to be off when I write. Wherever I write in that section it seems to write it to the right of where my pen is touching the screen. Take a look at the attached picture.
Now I've google searched if there is a method to calibrate the S Pen. But the only thing I seem to find is a method that works with the original Galaxy Note 1. And I have also come across an app called TouchscreenTune that helps you calibrate the S-Pen. But as far as I know this app calibrates the S Pen for the entire screen. For example if I calibrate the S Pen with this application and make it so it writes to the left instead of how it's off by going to the right it will do that for the entire screen. I'm only having this issue at that 1 section of the screen. Can anybody help me out please?

Same issue
I don't have any solutions, but I can confirm that I'm having the same issue. It happens in a few places, but all of them are towards the edge fo the screen. I noticed it trying to make a line with a straight edge in sketchbook mobile, which this makes it impossible to do. Similarly, I've searched and can't find any suggestions on calibration. I'll take it to a sprint store in a few days.
I will be interested in hearing what they say. Im having the same problem.

Thanks for the comment. Just to make sure, when you write a bunch in that bottom left area, there's no interuptions in the inking or it's hard to write because the cursor doesn't stay centered?
I'm trying to figure out if this is something all of them have that's just too minor for most people to notice or there's just a few bad apples. I'll be at verizon tomorrow testing out some other note 2s and see if I see a pattern. If not, I'll just return.

Glad yours works. That code doesn't work for me. I'm on a verizon phone which means they probably jacked that up too along with everything else.
Interesting development today.
Exchanged my phone to verizon. Was really excited the new one was working so well. Went home and it started to do it again. Got real up set and then light bulb popped up. There's a magnet on the back of my seidio kickstand case. Took the case off and now it works fine. Which means the other one probably worked fine as well. Annoyed that I spent $50 on this stupid case.

Yeah, you should never use any kind of case with magnets with a phone with a Wacom digitizer.
It's really a shame, otherwise I would've bought the KLD Ultra Slim PU Leather Flip Cover Case already.
Hi, sorry for the late response. But i went to Best Buy and tried another S-Pen and with the S-Pen it does the same thing. It weird, When i right the actual ink is not under where my pen is, its more to the right of it. Even if i hover the S-Pen over the screen the little circle thing is also off to the right abit. I tried to use that TouchScreen Tune app, but when i apply the changes in it, it says Failed< Unsupported ROM or FW. I use the S-Pen alot, and it sucks because of this inconvenience.
Oh and i can confirm that the App posted in that Link "Reset S-Pen" Does NOT work to fix this issue. I wish it was just the S-Pen that was defective. I have no problem going to Best Buy and buying a new one for $40.
My s pen accuracy improved when I did what another forum suggested. Go into pen settings, and switch it to left handed, and then back to right handed. That resets the calibration.

Hi, I tried multiple times to do that but each time it results the same. It makes no difference. Maybe I just got a bad Wacom digitizer.

Hi, i am using the original Samsung Flip Cover Case. It has no magnets. And i dont think this should be happening. I would expect this kind of defects from a cheap $100-$300 phone. Not from the best smartphone in the world that retails for over $700!

Rate your Refurb

This thread is intended to discuss your experience with your refurbished Galaxy Note 2 from AT&T so others can decide if a refurbished device is the right choice for them. If you want to rate the quality of your device on a scale of 1-10 I will keep the OP updated with the average rating. I for one was somewhat skeptical about ordering a refurbished device but I took the plunge after reading another members good experience and so far I have had no regrets. Please follow XDA rules and have fun.
That being said I would rate the quality of my device as a 10 . I ordered the white model and I have not been able to find any flaws ( and I am anal about little things ) I had a very bad experience with AT&T when I had the HTC one X , They sent me 3 refurb's in one week and all of them had issues. I am very happy so far with my Refurbished Galaxy Note 2 and I have the insurance just in case something goes wrong after the 90 days.
I did run into the loose charging port that I read about in these forums and discovered it to be the actual cable , not the phone. my solution was to file down the upper part of the housing and now the charging usb actually clicks into place. Also this aftermarket usb cable from radio shack fits perfect. see attached image.
Average user rating 8.7
Just to toss this out not Note related however I bought my daughter a referb s3 and it has been flawless as well. Att seems to ensure your getting a quality referb device. When I was with tmobile the same could not be said..

I had a refurbished Samsung replaced under warranty since my camera focus quit working**....it was basically flawless and in perfect condition. :good:
**Wasn't till later that I realized that my phone mounted on a motorcycle handlebar for a 2,900 miles trip might have contributed to the problem (i.e. vibration)?? Wasn't sure but makes sense. Anyway it quit working so I got a refurbished one which I still use on my motorcycle.
Haven't had a refurb note2 but my original note was replaced under warranty with a refurb and the first replacement had scratches on the camera lens, called at&t and told them that was unacceptable as I'm anal about my phone, most people probably wouldn't have even cared, they said no problem and sent me a new one.

Same here. Replaced the wife's 3gs with one.
Back is not hard to remove but doesn't seem it will fall of at all.
Some other things that I'd Ike to know if normal or not:
- very low call volume (still have to play with this more)
- beeps continuously while charging with my nexus one 1A (or less, don't remember) charger.
- &#%$&#%&$&#% lots and lots of AT&T crap ware. It kept trying to make me type my Gmail passwd on a att.com page during setup... riiight. Now every time I press contacts tab on phone app it shows a dialog about downloading contacts from att for a few seconds.
...will I be fine if I flash cyanogen or something else on it?

I don't recall any of that happening to me, however you should be able to install some aftermarket firmware after rooting and installing a recovery using Odin or Heimdall (depending on your OS)
However if you still have the low call volume and whatnot, I'd say completely revert back to stock and return it. AT&T will give you a brand new one at no extra cost if they deem it unworthy xD

Same for me(received my unit yesterday, (upgrading from a root and modded Skyrocket) excellent looking unit, battery was dead, no headphones... battery charged very quickly, much quicker than I expected... visually the phone itself is perfect, LOVE it.
What an incredible deal even with the specs of the IV that have been revealed over the last few days I feel VERY happy with this purchase, can't touch this battery life and screen size!
I've not received a Note 2 refurb, but for other's that I have; e.g. Skyrocket, S3, etc I only received the phone housing, never any other accessories such as battery, back plate, etc as I've always been told to keep those from the original.
Is the Note 2 different in that AT&T now provides those additional with a refurb replacement? Seems a bit odd they'd go through this trouble considering that would more than likely not have anything to do with the phone HW which is being addressed under warranty.
EDIT: Ah.... ok I mis-read this as I was under the impression this was in regards to warranty replacement... disregard.

I just wanted to say that if anyone wants a case with a kickstand, this is the case I got today from Best Buy, as they were out of cases at the AT&T store. I do quite like it (even though I probably won't be using it for its kickstand), but it is pretty thin and seems pretty durable for its thinness. It basically seperates into two by pushing on a specific area on the back and that way only (I tried prying it open via the sides for testing purposes and it wasn't budging). The kick stand is also magnetic and it works just fine on let's say, a table or other hard surface...
So yeah. Just thought I'd put it out there for anyone who needs a thin case and no I wasn't paid to post this xD
EDIT: I also have a question. I'm currently on the DataPro 4G 3Gig plan, but need to upgrade to the corresponding LTE plan. Will AT&T upgrade me to the 3Gig LTE plan (that's the same price) automatically or will they bump me down to a 300megabyte plan? Because I'm too lazy to call them oops.

Received my Note II (both of them) also .. visually a 10, functionality a 10 .. both phones are flawless. Was surprised however that both phone came with 4.1.1 on them .. being refurbished, I would had expected AT&T upgraded them to current before shipping .. but then again, that helped me .. LOL .. both phones UNLOCKED before upgrading
The two we got are in really good shape, except I can't get them to use the home wireless -- which is supplied by AT&T ironically enough. They both keep saying "authentication error". We have tested them outside the home and Wifi works fine there, so they just won't work at home.
Regardless, the recipients are no longer jealous of my Note 2, which I bought on (AT&T) launch day.

Received my Note II (both of them) also .. visually a 10, functionality a 10 .. both phones are flawless. Was surprised however that both phone came with 4.1.1 on them .. being refurbished, I would had expected AT&T upgraded them to current before shipping .. but then again, that helped me .. Anyone tried these cheap Ebay BT keyboards?

I just got my Note 10.1 as a surprise gift . Great day .
I am not sure whether I will need a keyboard because I have a small notebook for heavy typing but still...
I just checked ebay and chinese/hk sellers have some interesting stuff like this:

Did you try something like this? Or do you have some other recommendations?

I tried a similar one purchased from Amazon and it was awful.
There seem to be two types of keyboards available for this device: The fully integrated keyboard/case/stand like this one, which has a keyboard with AWFUL keys. It also would frequently disconnect from the device.
The second appear to be the "clip on" style with "chiclet" keys on the keyboard. I haven't purchased one of these since it isn't a full blown case.

you say that this keyboard is somehow "glued" to the case? or it just looks like that.
thanks for the other information. I am not even sure whether I really need it because I use notebook for typing.
I had one of these cases for my tab 8.9 and although I never had any problems with it disconnecting, the keys do feel awful. I couldn't type very fast with it so never really used it that much. I prefered to use the onscreen keyboard with swype.
i purchased this 20 dollar one from amazon

i like it. works well.
connects easily
I was able to score a Microsoft wedge keyboard from ebay for $32. Its a great little keyboard, excellent feel, and it has a heavy rubber cover that makes me feel a little better about putting it in my bag with everything else.

I bought one of the clip-on keyboards. Using use it very often but it works fibre. I have small hands so it works for me. I also have a usb folio case for another tab. It was cheap and freshly like it would fall apart, but it keeps on touching and it even works with the galaxy.
Both work well enough for my purposes.

Exact bluetooth keyboard for $9.95 on Amazon

It's from the same seller that sells the Poetic cases so customer service should be stellar if there are any problems. And their keyboard for the 1st gen N7 gets pretty decent reviews.
http://www.amazon.com/Exact-Bluetoo...=8-1&keywords=exact+google+nexus+7+2+keyboard
Here are the reviews for the 1st gen:
http://www.amazon.com/Exact-Bluetooth-Keyboard-Rubberized-Non-Slip/dp/B00AD9RLJ6/ref=pd_sim_sbs_pc_2
This is exactly what I came here looking for: a Bluetooth keyboard to use with my Nexus 7. For $10, I think I'll pull the trigger. The reviews of the first-gen aren't too promising, but it seems like they took care of a few of the concerns voiced in those reviews (the Tab key, etc.). I guess I'll find out whether or not I like it when it gets here. Again, for $10, why not?
I figured the same. I've spent 10 bucks on dumber stuff than this...let's give it a try.
Wow... $10 looks like a steal for that keyboard; I bought what looks like the same one for 3 times as much off ebay.
If it is the same one, I like it a lot less than the model for the original Nexus 7. The ridge around it (the silver part) is actually taller for some reason -- though the entire thing is still slimmer thanks to the nexus 7 itself being slimmer -- but the worst part is the fit; it's loose, the tablet slides around (horizontally if you are reading the nexus logo straight on.) (If the "Exact" model DOESN'T have that issue please let me know so I can get one. )
None of that is a deal breaker for me though; I still like the case enough to use it. Keeps the screen protected and clips in and out, then lets you type when you need to.

If anyone who gets this case can post some pics and reviews, that would be much appreciated. I'm looking for a good, no frills keyboard, and this could be it.

By the time someone gets it and posts a review, they're probably going to raise the price. They always start off with an introductory promo price like they did with the Poetic case. FWIW, the same keyboard for the old N7 is $18.95.
I should've bought it last night. The price has already doubled & jumped to $19.95.
Damn, I wanted it for 10 bucks. I'll wait for it.

See edit; the issue outlined in the following paragraph has been remedied:
Well I got mine today, and I have to say, I'm kind of disappointed. It fits the tablet perfectly when closed, but it JUST misses the mark when standing it up. It seems like the lip where the bottom part of the tablet hits, to prevent it from falling over, is around half a millimeter too long, the tablet almost catches, but doesn't quite do it. I think just a little bit more of the tablet needs to get underneath it, and it'll catch. I have some pics that I took; I'll upload them later tonight or early tomorrow (I don't usually post from the mobile app).
That aside: I really like this case. It fits the N7 snugly when closed, the keyboard part works well, and it seems like it would protect the tablet if one should need it. I would be extremely satisfied with this keyboard/protector if only the tablet stood in it. I'll try to contact customer service and let them know the critical design flaw so they can remedy it ASAP.
EDIT:
OK, never mind the first paragraph. Figured it out. The little rubber strip down in the groove where the tablet sits to stand up wasn't fully glued down so the tablet was sitting higher than it should have been. After pressing the strip down to be flush with the bottom of the groove, the tablet now stands up. I'm happy now. After using it this weekend I'll edit this post with a review after using it a few days.

Hmm it looks like a nice keyboard but is it stable? Like it looks like a small tap and Itll come off and fall off ...which wouldn't be nice for my Nexus
I ended up getting this Logitech keyboard from Ebay. It doesn't function as a case like the Exact keyboard but it's longer so typing should be more comfortable. Won the auction for $16 including shipping.

I heard that this logitech keyboard was incompatible with the new Nexus 7 and gives repeated inputs because of that bluetooth bug.
Hope to hear from you coz I'm considering this keyboard as well.

how much battery does a bluetooth keyboard drain off the tablet?

Directly? None.
Indirectly (meaning requiring the Bluetooth antenna be on at all times)? Very little in the grand scheme of things.

I received it today and briefly tested it. Didn't experience any repeated inputs.
I really like it so far. Very comfortable to type on and the function keys work well except for the browser key which kind of sucks. I'm wondering if there's any way to map that key to open a 3rd party browser.

Thank you for your input, I might go ahead and buy that
I purchased this keyboard because for $10 why not. The build quality is nice, connecting to bluetooth is simple and it works, it functions well, the rechargeable battery is nice and everything. I especially like that it clips on to the N7 but that's also the 2 issues I have with the keyboard. 1 being it's a bit too small for my comfort and 2 being that the clip right by the space bar makes it difficult to hit the space bar. It's not really the keyboard fault I guess, those 2 things are sacrificed for the convenience of having it clip onto the N7 (though I do have a case already, it makes it easier to be able to carry the KB together with the case, haven't used my N7 outside the house yet however). For what I paid it's great, I wouldn't send it back but it still doesn't make typing that much easier for me. Trust me I'm trying to get better with typing on it, I've typed about those damn quick brown foxes so many times but I just end up making so many typos.
The only other keyboard I was looking at was the $40 Logitech one but it's pretty bulky for a 7 inch tablet (though that's probably the smallest it can get without sacrificing functionality) , it takes 4 batteries and I hear it has issues with the latest Jelly Bean. So whatever, for $10 I'll take what I can get.

I think you're referring to this Logitech keyboard I posted above.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlKQJtNjl0E
I haven't had any issues with it. I wouldn't necessarily call it bulky but yea, it's nowhere close to as compact as the Exact keyboard. I was willing to sacrifice a little size for typing comfort though. Got it for $16 on an Ebay auction.

Nice, that's a steal at $16 and it looks like it actually functions as a great keyboard. I personally love Logitech products, I haven't seen much negative about that keyboard (aside from the batteries imo, is it 4 AAA? Some reviews said only 2 but some say 4)and I'd probably buy it also if I could find it for around that price. Bulkys not the word so much as not as convenient relative to the Exact.. I originally wrote too big for a 7 inch tablet, carrying it around and everything, though it really needs to be that big for functionality but yea, if you need to actually write some lengthy stuff on the go then it's worth the trade off.
