Hi all,
I am a newbie to xda and rooting.
I have Xperia Pro MK16i and i wish to root it.
Its on baseband 64 with 4.0.2.A.0.62.
I understood till flashing .62 by .58 and then rooting and installing custom roms etc.
My problem is, I am confused as to whether i can flash my baseband.
Assuming that I've flashed, rooted and installed 4.0.2.A.0.58 and runs on .58 with baseband 58 and firmware 58, can I upgrade my baseband alone to 77 using flashtool while running on 58 firmware?
Someone please reply ASAP...
Hearty thanks in advance !

Yes, you can flash any bb although it isn't the same number version but it isn't necessary to make a so outlandish thread.
Thanks...

thanks electrash ! so now i've downloaded the generic 0.42 firmware.. but could someone shows 'how to' flash it's baseband only using flashtool?
I think that you can use Flashtool to do that http://androxyde.github.com/Flashtool/ . My question is, the .42 baseband is truly more battery friendly? How have you come to this conclusion?
im using .42 for long time, and is very good for me.
I've a question: if I use Flashtool and flash just the baseband, will I loose all data etc? Do I have to perform root again?
i think everything remain.

Yeah. Same here.
LT15i .58 is present. But original stock LT18i .58 seems absent.
Cheers

Just use Wotan, it's free.
You could also downgrade to .42 firmware and root.

Hi there. I am new to Arc S. Why not go back to the latest available FW for the Arc S. Or are there no bugfixes applied with .58?
Cheers

When your BL is locked, you could also use PCC, but idk what is the latest available firmware in your country (.42, .58 or .62).
If it's not .62, you could also use PCC to flash the firmware and then root using zergRush.
And btw, I don't see much difference between .42, .58 or .62 (correct if there's something important).

Do you mean www.wotanserver.com?
That site does not exist (anymore). I tried to load it with firefox chrome and ie.

I am on .62 which is my latest (to the best of my knowledge)
I just want to root. Nothing else. I most definately don't want to unlock the BL.
I read that the zergRush exploit was patched in .62. So i too was looking for the previous version of my FW (how/where can i check what my last FW should have been?)
So in short: i am looking for the latest original SE FW with the exploit present. And i should be flashable through flashtools as PCC is no use to me since it will deploy .62 FW.
Is wotan the place to be?
Cheers

I'd just say, flash .42 firmware and root, but that's my opinion.
I've never used Wotan, so I can't tell.

The site is definitely not offline, if you try to ping it, you get a request.
Maybe they just have a overcapacity or something else.
Keep looking a eye on it.

So back to basic question but adjusted to new situation :
Where to download the original international version of .42 FW for the LT18i?
It can be found for the LT15i but i cant seem to find the .42 one for LT18i, at least not here on xda.
Cheers.
Look here or flash SEMC .42 firmware from FXP for CM7 here.

Thanks. Wotanserver is up now. They have specific .42 for my region. Gonna try that first.
Thanks again!

Thanks all! I downgraded to Official .42 (Trade code Netherlands) with wotanserver.
Rooting was pretty easy after that

If you're updating with SEUS/PCC, you have to root again.
Hello all,
Xda is my last hope.
I need the .64 baseband to make a rom work, i have a ARC.
Can someone kindly upload to me?
I already searched in many places. In the baseband thread, the links are off.
Thanks!

It's says 62 (because of firmware v.), but it's 64 - i tested it.
Here you can find baseband and corresponding libs.

Hello all, I have a Xperia Arc S mobile with FXP128 and baseband version 64. I want to upgrade the baseband to 72, but I don't know how to do that.
There are lots of baseband availabale here: http://uploaded.to/folder/um2ivw
Which one must I use for the Arc S?
How must I install it?
Thanks and best regards.
Wrong forum. Go for "LT18i" also flash it using flash tools.
Watch here threse baseband are ok...
Or you can download it from your link, (LT18i=arc s) (BB72= baseband 72) and (4.1.B.0.431=firmware where BB comes from)...
So for your choice, you must flash with flashtool version LT18i_4.1.B.0.431_BB72.ftf

There is no difference in these 2 firmwares.
4.0.2.A.0.69 is a German-only firmware (branded?) which has slightly edited Google Apps' names (due to legal issues). The rest is same as 4.0.2.A.0.62
