Baseband for Xperia Arc S - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all, I have a Xperia Arc S mobile with FXP128 and baseband version 64. I want to upgrade the baseband to 72, but I don't know how to do that.
There are lots of baseband availabale here: http://uploaded.to/folder/um2ivw
Which one must I use for the Arc S?
How must I install it?
Thanks and best regards.

Wrong forum. Go for "LT18i" also flash it using flash tools.

Watch here threse baseband are ok...
Or you can download it from your link, (LT18i=arc s) (BB72= baseband 72) and (4.1.B.0.431=firmware where BB comes from)...
So for your choice, you must flash with flashtool version LT18i_4.1.B.0.431_BB72.ftf

thanks electrash ! so now i've downloaded the generic 0.42 firmware.. but could someone shows 'how to' flash it's baseband only using flashtool?
I think that you can use Flashtool to do that http://androxyde.github.com/Flashtool/ . My question is, the .42 baseband is truly more battery friendly? How have you come to this conclusion?
im using .42 for long time, and is very good for me.
I've a question: if I use Flashtool and flash just the baseband, will I loose all data etc? Do I have to perform root again?
i think everything remain.

[Q] Changing Baseband.

Hi all,
I am a newbie to xda and rooting.
I have Xperia Pro MK16i and i wish to root it.
Its on baseband 64 with 4.0.2.A.0.62.
I understood till flashing .62 by .58 and then rooting and installing custom roms etc.
My problem is, I am confused as to whether i can flash my baseband.
Assuming that I've flashed, rooted and installed 4.0.2.A.0.58 and runs on .58 with baseband 58 and firmware 58, can I upgrade my baseband alone to 77 using flashtool while running on 58 firmware?
Someone please reply ASAP...
Hearty thanks in advance !

Yes, you can flash any bb although it isn't the same number version but it isn't necessary to make a so outlandish thread.
Thanks...

The way to avoid newbie questions is to type them in to a search engine first.

Need to go back to Sony's stock ics

I'm selling my phone so i need to install everything back as it was(official ics 4.0.4 with .587 kernel) because stock rom doesn't have bugs.
I'm currently using Xperia Ultimate HD on advance stock kernel...
i need someone to write me the steps, and I will do them... many thanks!

Download the appropriate ftf (LT15i/LT18i)

What does the ftf file includes?
Does it also include stock kernel and baseband with the firmware? or do I have to install them manually?
**I'm currently on .72 baseband, do I have to change it?

I recommend you flash the GB rom, since it is fast. ICS is laggy. I don't think the buyer would be satisfied if it lagged

Yes but then when the buyer connects the phone to a pc, it will prompt him to install pc companion. Then it will prompt him to install ICS. So then, he will have a choice . But if it came with ICS and he didn't like it, it will be harder to downgrade to GB in that case. So better flash the stock GB

I did everything... All done.. Thank you all guys
I installed this firmware: Official ICS update Arc&Arc-S 4.1.B.0.431
And then relocked bootloader...
But now I have notification: system update available 4.1.B.0.587 , should I update or not? I read somewhere on xda that users were reporting bricked phones after OTA updates... because of unlocked bootloader (they said).. And I don't want that next user to click on it and then have a bricked phone, and I can't just hide the notification... if they do factory rest , the notification will pop up...
so now is it ok to update or not? or if you can link me to 4.1.B.0.587 firmware to install it...

Yes I relocked it, is it ok to update it now guys??
I relocked it using this method: [Tutorial] Relock bootloader!
As quoted from this method: "You still can't get DRM back. It's gone from the phone!"...
Would have been much simpler to just flash a stock 587 ftf.

I post a link to the general section where you can find it on the first page below the stickys and you come back with links from another site. I'm unable to help People who continue to demonstrate they're incapable of helping themselves, so you'll have to wait for someone with more patience to help.
