Hey Guys,
I recently tried to flash the cyanogenmod 10 rom onto my htc one x (accidentaly without the gapps) and when I tried to reboot the phone, it started normally but then stuck on the 'one' screen. Now i can access bootloader, but everytime i try to reboot from recovery, it goes to the same screen. What should i do?
Hboot version? Did you flash boot.img

I was successful to flash it only once, after that i am having the problem as yours.

If you have a JB hboot (higher as 1.12 if i recall it right) then you need this boot.img

Are you sure that you have the international HOX, not the AT&T HOX ?
They are two different device. CWM recovery for HOX will not work for AT&T HOX.

Its usually caused when the kernel is different from the one supplied with the rom, or you lock your bootloader with a custom rom installed, try flashing the kernel that came with CleanRom. And hit the thanjs button

Hi everyone,
I have tried to install a jellybam rom for my One X, and read you need to flash the boot.img after flashing the rom due to S on for my phone. I flashed the boot.img via command prompt on my PC as required, however when i rebooted my phone, it's stuck at the 'Quietly Brilliant' screen. I tried to do a restore from the backup of my previous rom ( Android Revolution sense) but it still does the same thing.
Wondering what I need to do to get it working again, appreciate if anyone can guide me through, never got this before.

Err please go make your own thread and don't try to hijack mine, the issue you have and I are both completely different.
Re: HTC Hangs at 'HTC Quietly Brilliant' after flashing boot.img
To fully restore the backup, you need to flash the boot.img in the backup.
fastboot flash boot boot.img

Which ROM were you installing?

Was trying to install the JellyBam rom. So was coming from a Sense based rom to a non Sense based rom.
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2042751&highlight=jellybam
and coming from HTC revolution, link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1562603
I guess I flashed the boot.img incorrectly? I'm keen to know what I did wrong or what went wrong, I followed the steps when I used HTC revolution which managed to bring back my rom and managed to get out of the hanging/loop of the 'quietly brilliant' part and restored a backup with no issue.
so you...
fastboot flash boot boot.img
then rebooted, went into recovery, and went to wipe and wiped factory rest, dalvik cache, cache, and system then backed up went install and installed rom?
Did you use the boot.img from the rom you're trying to flash?

Oh, you didn't happen to update to the ota jelly that just came out, did you? that will mess up jellybam install bc jelly is based on cyan I believe and not on sense. Try viper xl, it's really good and will work if you ota'd.

Newer hboot 1.31 and up require special boot img which is on cm10 thread

Hi All,,
i've change the rom of my htc one x to CM10.1. but when the phone reboot, he does not stop to reboot, its rebooting constantly.
And ive make and nandroid backup, but it is not on my phone, he is on a pendrive.
Help me please..
Thanks
did you boot to fastboot and flash the kernel boot.img? :silly:
Please don't post also here...
You wrote in Q&A section.
There are two resons for not rebooting
1-wrong boot img
2-didn't upgrade hboot as cm10.1 needs newer hboot 1.28 is minimum
If the nandroid backup isn't on your phone you can copy it through recovery go to mounts and storage then mount your sdcard and copy the back up

Hi,
This has been a complete disaster. I am a very new to this whole rooting, flashing, rom, etc. stuff and am not too farmiliar with many terms. i have done something quite recently which i am afraid has bricked my phone.
-i unlocked bootloader and rooted my phone
-using cwm 5.8.2 i think..??
-tried to install a cyanogen mod but kept getting stuck at cyanogen mod boot screen
-went into cwm cleared caches, dalvik caches, cleared data, etc.
-tried rebooting but kept getting stuck at the htc quietly brilliant boot screen
-went into bootlaoder and tried to factory reset
-still stuck at htc quietly brilliant boot screen
-found another thread about using ruu..??
-typed into fastboot command window >fastboot oem lock >fastboot oem rebootRUU
-stuck at silver htc logo
I am completely clueless on what to do now. If possible, i would just completely like to reset everything and have a normal phone
Please, any help is appreciated!
Many thanks
Downloadad the appropriate RUU for your One X and run it while your One X is plugged into the computer and follow the instructons.
For cyanogen mod all you had to do was flash the boot.img and do a full wipe.
Always follow the instructions in the future and you will have success.
HTC One X Viper X 3.3.7 (Variant 1 CPU)
XM-kernel #169
Backup: O2 XDA IIs WM 2003 SE 4.21
Do this
Fasrboot getvar version-main
We check for a ruu.

Thanks much, but how do i know which is my RUU, and how would i go about running it? would this get me back to a factory settings phone?
sorry for the trouble
And post back the outcome ...... I'm almost off for bed
Try this first :
Update the cwm recovery. Rename it to recovery.img
http://db.tt/Krlm4dPs
Then perform a full wipe in the recovery !
Install CM10
If you are on a JB hboot, that means 1.31 or higher you have to flash this boot.img file.
http://db.tt/uDdWaAtH
If you are on a lower hboot like 1.12 you nee to flash the boot.img inside the zip.
Flashing the recovey ?
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Flashing the boot.img ?
Fasrboot flash boot boot.img
Hope this helps
right now my bootloader says:
****TAMPERED*****
****RELOCKED ******
****security warning******
EVITA PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.14.022
i dont know if this helps
wont let me flash or boot im cmnd window
still stuck at htc quietly brilliant boot screen when rebooted.
From the bootloader information you have provided, the reason why this is not working for you, is because you are flashing stuff that's not meant for your phone.
You need to head over to the other forum. The stuff in this one is for the Endeavor version of the OneX not the Evita version.

You can still enter the bootloader and recovery, head over to the HTC one XL forum and get an evita rom and reflash.
Hello!
First: I'm A Noob!
Youtube: Htc one x root problem. Youtube.com /watch?v=JteY6-b04i8
I've have tested for example ViperX and the phone said: (successful install!) But dont work!
If something is unclear just ask!
All I want is my phone working!
Thanks!
Did you perform a full wipe before installing the rom ? Did you flash the boot.img from the viper rom ?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I assume it's stuck in boot screen, no?
Two possible causes:
1. You didn't flash the boot.img
2. Your hboot version is too low
You can check the hboot ver by booting to bootloader by holding volume down and power button.

where can I find "BOOT.img and are it only to flash it into the mobile?
I havent made a full perform wipe.
You can find the boot.img inside the rom.zip. you need to flash it with fastboot command to the phone (that is in the bootloader)
THANK YOU!!
I flashed "Boot.img" and install viperX and made Full perform wipe. now it works!!
Nice !
