[Q] Root problem - HTC One X

Hello!
First: I'm A Noob!
Youtube: Htc one x root problem. Youtube.com /watch?v=JteY6-b04i8
I've have tested for example ViperX and the phone said: (successful install!) But dont work!
If something is unclear just ask!
All I want is my phone working!
Thanks!

Did you perform a full wipe before installing the rom ? Did you flash the boot.img from the viper rom ?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium

I assume it's stuck in boot screen, no?
Two possible causes:
1. You didn't flash the boot.img
2. Your hboot version is too low
You can check the hboot ver by booting to bootloader by holding volume down and power button.

where can I find "BOOT.img and are it only to flash it into the mobile?
I havent made a full perform wipe.

You can find the boot.img inside the rom.zip. you need to flash it with fastboot command to the phone (that is in the bootloader)

THANK YOU!!
I flashed "Boot.img" and install viperX and made Full perform wipe. now it works!!

Nice !

Need urgent help please

I tried flashing a theme using the same .zip of a rom for the One X so what I did was I deleted everything and kept the system and META-INF and now I get stuck at the HTC htc quietly brilliant..Luckily I have made a backup through recovery but whenever I go to recovery it just takes me back to the htc quietly brilliant screen. My computer recognizes the phone and everything and the fastboot commands. I tried reflashing recovery it says successfully but it didn't do anything, I still get stuck. I don't really know what to do afterwards. Can someone be so kind and help this poor guy out? Thank you.
If you can go to fastboot mode.
In fastboot mode, try "fastboot erase cache"

Thanks for the replies guys..I relocked and then unlocked the bootloader and reflashed recovery. It deleted my backup. Now my phone has no rom to boot. I tried running the ruu.exe but it says it won't recognize my phone. Everythime I plug my phone on my computer my phone lights up and my computer makes a beep noise
Is there any other way to run/install the ruu.exe? It says I need to have my device connected and it already is

Are you already in the fastboot folder with the RUU?
For detailed instruction for unbricking or reverting to stock, there's a thread for that in devs section.

[Q] I bricked my One X

Hi there,
I have recently bricked my HOX by trying to install the latest BinDroid ROM.
I did root the device properly and I dont know what went wrong during the ROM installation.
Short story; the device stuck on bootloop and now runs out of juice. Is there any way to get it back to work or I just have to send it to HTC for repair.
What exactly did you do and when did it fail.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
If you have flashed the most recent recovery you can charge in recovery, I would suggest plugging in.
Turn on by holding power + volume down
If you get the white hoot screen go into recovery and leave it to charge.
Your rom is probably bootlooping because you didn't manually flash the boot.IMG that came with the Rom in fastboot
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
The problem is, I already relocked my HOX to install stock RUU, but the power is less than 30%.
Ok. I have done this in the past.
Plug phone in to wall
Power on.
Choose power off.
Phone will reboot
Repeat process many times.
While the phone is rebooting it is actually charging for a few second
You may have to do this quite a while to get above 30 %
Once there unlock and boot into recovery so you can charge to full
Learn the lesson and don't play with low battery

Thanks, will try to do that..
I'm in recovery now, using 'recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.4.0-endeavoru'...
Should be fine right?:good:
Yes. That version will allow you to charge.
Then its just getting a Rom working
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Hey I know you've already got it to charge but for other people's information according to the wiki and further to the other users comment you could leave the screen on the HTC quietly brilliant screen and it would still continue to charge although it doesn't appear to be. It really is.
Dno if you've fixed it but now you need to try either a nandroid back up and flash the boot.img inside that via fastboot on your computer. Or a custom Rom and flash THAT boot.img via fastboot.
I hope to god you've got one of those on the root of your phone storage, otherwise your last resort is a ruu

I did tried to charged on the 'HTC quietly brilliant screen' before but it takes a lot of time since the phone keeps on to restart, just wanna see iv charging on recovery is better.
and forgive me I'm a noob but what do you mean by 'try either a nandroid back up and flash the boot.img inside that via fastboot on your computer. Or a custom Rom and flash THAT boot.img via fastboot'

It's okay, everyone starts somewhere and i don't pretend to be a professional but i'll try help. And yeah the HTC quiterly brilliant screen was just incase you didn't have enough charge to enter fastboot
Basically a nandroid back up is a back up file created by a custom recovery (e.g. Clockwordmod), this backs up EVERYTHING, your whole system and rom (it's important to do these before flashing custom roms, incase anything goes wrong). But anyway, i doubt you've done that so moving on.
Basically our HTC one x's cannot be S-off at the moment, so because of this we only have access to certain parts of the system and boot files.
You need to find the rom you put on your HTC One X and put it on your computer (or download it from somewhere). Unzip it and find the boot.img. This process is sort of like the one where you unlocked your bootloader.
You need to plug your phone into the computer which has SDK tools and everything installed and enter CMD - and put your phone into fastboot usb mode.
Assuming you followed HTC dev method you'd copy the boot.img out of the rom folder you unzipped earlier and place it in C:/Android
Open command prompt (windows) or the linux/MAC variant
and type the following
cd C:/Android
then
fastboot flash boot boot.img
This will flash the boot.img for your rom
then type
fastboot erase cache (i think)
and reboot your phone through the bootloader. It should now boot.
:good:

glad to hear good news my friend..and a new update should be tonight or tomorrow with a new ARHD
have read the ARHD 7.2.0 latest feedback, and tried to flash 7.2.0 over the 7.1.0 w/out Superwipe but stuck on HTC One screen.
Now i restore back my ARHD 7.1.0..
Once the 7.2.1 version out, can I flash it without flashing 7.2.0.

Stuck with boot Screen

hi guys
i've desire hd with : software number 3.16.751.3 , s-on , bootloader unlocked with htc dev and cid is HTC__621
so i 've changed the recovery to recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.1.5-ace.img
then i tired to flash custom rom after finishing the process
i restarted the phone and stuck with booting screen
what should i do ??
plz help
Did you root the phone before? And you need S-OFF in order to flash custom roms. See if you can find a ruu and flash it while you phone connected to pc
Sent from my HTC Desire HD A9191 using xda premium
You don't need soff to flash custom roms. You should have used the hack kit to root. I would try as suggested and get back to stock and run the kit.
But now for the issue at hand. The reason you get stuck is because you failed to flash the boot.img . With HTC dev unlocked phones you have to do it manually
Just get the rooms boot.Img and run
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Now i understand what i did ,but from where i can get the boot.img fit to my phone ??
thanks :good:
Just use the custom rom boot.img that u want to flash it

Then you did something wrong. Go back into cwr full wipe and reflash. Then boot into hboot and reflash the boot image
i wiped the cache partition the reflash the boot.img but still not booting
what should i do now.??
Full wipe! Not just cache. Do a factory wipe, cache and dalvik then flash rom and boot img
thanks the phone is booted up now but i downloaded ice and fire update from clockworkmod using it boot
i have root access now i'll apply s off and i'll install best custom rom
thanks alot for ur help

[Q] Fully wipe/reset from "Stock Recovery"

unrooted and relocked on stock JB
stock recovery.img flashed
--------------------------------------
i think i searched enough about this, so here what is happening:
from the bootloader i scroll down to recovery then the power, THEN instead of getting the green circle i get a red rectangle.
i know i have to press power + vol up to access the blue menu [default android recovery] but it is not working.
help, thanks
Why did you relock the bootloader , and what stock recovery did you flash ?
i flashed a recovery.img file extracted from the jb ota zip file and actually i followed a tutorial to unroot [trying to learn things].
Seems fine, I can't get you my stock recovery at the moment to test. I have to much traffic on it so my public links have been suspended for 3 days
And you can not enter the recovery at all. I would try to flash the stock recovery again. This time take the one from the stock backup collection thread in the general section. They are located in the OP !
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140
As far as i know you cannot enter a stock recovery. Of you where unlocked, rooted and on a custom rom before and want to restore a previous backup or backup your current stock one, you are going to have to flash a custom recovery (cwm or twrp) and restore or backup from there. Hope this solves something for you!
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
No that's right flashing from a stock recovery is impossible but you should be able to enter it ! And if he can't something is wrong
Still learning a lot myself mrhoffs (you've been a big help yourself btw). Didnt know you could enter stock recovery, another thing copied to my brain, THANX!

Yeah we all learn stuff here, even myself ! But it is as he described in the OP, by pressing the buttons you should leave the warning sign and enter the stock recovery. The warning sign is just a warning that you are about to enter something you should not mess with

that's exactly what i am doing basd43, and mr hofs a big help for everyone.
thank you
what i did is:
re-flashed the same extracted file from the JB OTA zip file thats it.
So its fine now ?

please i need y'r help , my phone in danger

my htc one x stop in that situation , i need any solution or advice for fixed
We need more information, have you flashed a rom or are you stock? Have you recently installed an app ? If you installed a rom did you flash boot image and erase cache ?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
ya i install a rom befor ( android revultion hd 18.1 ) it's working good but the thing that happened yetserday is the battry life down , and when i charge the battry , the phone just display the whit screen
Try flashing the rom again? Make a full wipe before flashing... Also, don't forget to flash the boot.img via fastboot...
