[Q] Stock VIDEO Camera shutter sound - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Been searching for this but only find results for the camera (photo). I want to know if there's a way to shut the beep sound when you want to RECORD a video on stock rom, theres also a beep sound when the focus works. This beep is too loud, I need to cover the hole from the speaker on the back, still can hear though.
Is there a way to have an option like in settings for the shutter sound photo camera ON/OFF ? something to add like I did in the CSC feature file
or using the Xposed framework installing an apk.
I have a rooted device but dont want to install it with CWM or things like TWRP in my phone since I dont want them. I dont want to erase audio files from the audio library as well. ^^
thanks

With root explorer (must be rooted ofcourse). Navigate to system/media/audio/ui/cam_start.ogg and cam_stop.ogg change permissions by unchecking all checked. Done

Hey buddy, you can use tasker to mute that ****ty shutter sound.
Just create a profile that is triggered by the Camera apps and in the task mute the system volume. Note that you gotta add an exit task to unmute the system volume or else your phone will keep muted :cyclops:

Camera Sound

Hello,
I knew, this topic is more then one time discussed, but I can't find the answer.
At my defy there are three sounds for the camera:
1. the start sound(some kind of beeping nervously)
2. the focus sound
3. the shutter sound
I run my defy with cm7 white rabbit 1.6.
I'm able to disable the shutter sound.
also I've deactivatet the focus sound, it's still there. (settings>cyanogenmod>sounds>disable focus sound)
for the start sound there is no point to disable.
I also searched the system for these sound, but Ididn't find them.
It would be verry amazing, if my camera makes no noise.
I hate this sounds especially the start sound.

Install CatLog App from the Google Play store, run it. press home button to let it run in background.
open camera app, click an photo, close camera app,
open Catlog App save the log file and post the contents here ..may be some dev will shed light on it.

If your rooted then use Xposed Framework
Created for 4.1.2 for TW based Odexed/Deodexed
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1944795
I would have used any call recorder there is, IF it was able to record both sides when using a BT headset.
Unfortunately, there seems to be none around. And believe me when I say that I have tested them all....

Even unlocking the hidden built in call recording functionality?
Sent from the mighty Note II
Hmm. That's actually the only thing I haven't tried. Simply because I thought
it would have no impact, since BT recording DO work, but only the other part.
And since no one has ever actually confirmed that BT recording really work.
Anyway, thanx for the input. I guess I'll give it a go. :good:

There is no separate setting to enable in the settings menu. In order to be able record calls (both sides of the conversation), you would need a rooted device. Then install XPOSED framwork. Download and activate the 'Call recording' module within the XPOSED framework. Check youtube videos on how to installed the XPOSED framework.
If done properly, you should find a call recording Icon in you CALL screen (when the call is active).
cheers.

I hope i'm not too late to answer your question.
Just wanna makes thing clearer:
If your device already rooted and already installed Xposed Installer,
then open Xposed Installer --> open "Download" section, find "Enable Call Recording" module, click on it then download. Before that, you can see in "download" section if you're already install the module or not.
After you install "Enable Call Recording" module, back to Xposed Installer menu, open "Modules" section. check the EnableCallRecording module.
then Reboot.
After that you can record your conversation manually (as far as i know). When you call someone, Record menu (with cassette icon) will active after the phone call is active (when someone you call pick up your phone call). Then you can record the converstion by touch the cassette icon.
REC files are saved in "Sounds" folder in your phone memory. The file extension is .amr
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skvalex.callrecorder
Love that application. Especially since it upload my conversations automatically in the cloud.
There are many call recording apps for Note 2
As of 2015-06 there are many free apps that record calls on Note 2.
Make sure you only have one of such apps installed, since having multiple call recording apps may cause issues and prevent those apps from recording a call.
None of these apps require a rooted Note 2. I've tested these apps on my unrooted GT-N7100.
Apps are listed here randomnly, it doesn't mean that app no.1 is better than others:
1. Call Recorder. Clever Mobile
2. Record My Call. RMC - Android Call Recorder
3. Call recorder. ViktorDegt
4. Total Recall. Call Recorder. Killer Mobile
5. Automatic Call Recorder. Appliqato
6. Call Recorder - ACR. NLL
7. Call Recorder. Boldbeast
8. callX. Automatic Call Recorder. SMSROBOT LTD
Personally I liked callX the most. I record to .mp3 using High quality settings. Sound quality seems to be as good or even better than you get when using other call recording apps on Note 2.

[Q] Volume boost on CM 10.2 (TeamCanjica)

Hi all!
With the help of this forum I managed to get CM 10.2 (TeamCanjica) working an my Ace 2! Hurray!! This breathed new life into my smartphone!
Right now I have the minor problem that the volume (loudness) of the music is too low when using headphones.
There are some apps in the google play store but these are adressed to Gingerbread not Jelly Bean. So they will not help I guess.
I suspected some settings in a system file, made a search and found these threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2400231
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2168836
But both threads mention files or directories which I do not find in my system directories (using the file explorer of CM).
Does anybody know where I can find the right files containing the volume settings in CM 10.2 (TeamCanjica)?
Maybe its silly question but do You set full permission in file manager options ?
While the listening music you can try slightly turn headphone jack. This may be help to you. I experienced this problem and solved with this way. By the way you can find and tune some sound settings in Sound Manager (Headphone / Speaker / Bluetooth etc.)

Full permission to what? As mentioned above I did not find any of the config files which were describes in the links above.
I guess I first have to find these config files. In CM 10.2 for Ace 2 they seem to be at an other place or have an other file name.

Thanks, I will try that.
Regarding the sound settings I have already found these sound settings. I turned off the sound limiter in the settings and pushed the volume up toas far as it will go. But unfortunately the volume is still too low. When using the headphones with an older Ipod Touch I hear the music significantly louder.
Hi. I have same problem. After try few mods like awesomebeats (after flash I have bootloop) I found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2203255 - you can change setting and add few feature to sound driver. It's work great for our problem.

Increase volume

As our zenfone 2 are realy good. they lack strengh of volume.
I have found this thread about others zenfone. Can a master take a look. And adjust it to our phones.

Thank you.
yes, how????
I don't have any problem with volume of speaker but earphone volume seems a bit low when using poweramp
Yeah, I was wondering how to increase the volume even more, especially so that I don't miss important calls or texts.
the volume is lowest ever made on smartphones! any tweaks??
Viper4Android - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223
Viper does nothing for volume
The other day I discovered that I can change the headphone and speaker gain on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S tablet by editing /system/etc/default_gain.conf. This worked on Lollipop and KitKat.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58589358&postcount=3
You need root, install es file explorer, enable root mode, mount /system rw from ES, then edit that file with ES file editor, and reboot. Then if you don't need root anymore, you can mount /system back ro, disable root mode, and do full unroot from supersu settings. I have no idea if the same works on other devices, but you can try.
I don't have any problem with the volume quantity but the quality.... Noise gets distorted above 80% .. Ringtones, mxplayer, music in every thing.
I owned 2 Z00A models both of them had the same problem.
Even tried other custom roms.... That also didn't do anything.
Do anyone else face this issue ?

It is not possible that some of you say that you have no issue with the sound volume . me and my friend just bought two zen2's and both of us had other phones before and we were veeerry surprised when we heard the super low voltage on zens .
Huggge difference compared to g3,huwawei mate and htc 8.
There was this tweak for g3 to edit mixer_path.XML and the volume gained like 50% loudness that was incredible. Is there any way to do the same with zen2?

I would beg to differ. I can't remember which settings I tweaked, but here's a guide for the older version of Viper4Android:
http://freaktab.com/forum/tablet-su...-louder-on-android-devices-viper4android-root
Should be along a similar path.
Alsa Mixer is the solution, but root is reqiured. Just install Alsa from play store and modify RX1 Digital to RX7 Digital.
Alsamixer isn't working for me. I get "cannot link executable: cannot load library libasound.so

[Q] Remove shutter sound on rooted H815

is there anyone there have found a way to disable the shutter sound on the g4 ?

Renaming is enough. You have to kill the camera one to have an effect.

You say you've renamed the system files and that wasn't working and your solution is the same as what's not working?
Silent files seems to be a solution. But why? There has to be a sound file, somewhere hidden. When I delete the startup ogg, the sound is gone. So why not with the cam ogg's!?
I hate to bring back old threads but it's better than creating another one for the same exact question:
I just got another G4, h811 and rooted, trying to disable the camera shutter, i've renamed all files at first and nothing was working, the shutter still persists, then i went and delted all the camera files in the 'system>media>audio>ui folder, and rebooted the phone, and checked back inside the folder, the files are gone, but the camera shutter still persists! All the camera sounds are still on, the autofocus, the click, and the shutter sound. What gives??
