Can I use mobile odin to unroot - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

I am running jellyverse fl16. I am needing to unroot because I am selling my phone and the person buying it is having it flashed to cricket. She took it to cricket and they said they cant flash it because its on jellybean. I juet need to unroot it and get it back to stock. I dont have a computer so I need to know if I can do this from mobie odin. I have tried to search this and came up with nothing. Can I use qbkings unroot video but from mobie odin. I also have a nanidroid thats a backup from the stock rom. If I can just flash that I would rather flash that but I didnt know if there would be any issues because im on jellybean and thats ics. Thanks to who ever can help.

Use mobile odin to put the fi27 one click full restore on. Or even the new fL24 from sextape. That one is the newest ota from sprint. Plus if it is the one from sextape there is no root. If you do any method using mobile odin flash the modem in cwm before you odin. Mobile odin will not flash the modem. And if you put an ics rom on it wont have any data. Because ics will not use jb modems.

I think you can just Nandroid back (I haven't had trouble doing that before) but it might cause some problems. If you want the safest route, Odin back.
O ok... How bout mobile odin??

Here's what I did
Odin full restore back to stock, use sfhub's auto root, then add recovery, reboot to recovery, nandroid back to your GB ROM. Also you don't have the annoying yellow triangle.

Mobile Odin works. I just flashed a GB recovery/kernel combo and wiped from there. The bricks are coming from the use of using CWM bundled with an ICS kernel. If you do any flashing with a GB kernel/recovery, you'll be good to go.
Note: You wont be able to boot on ICS with a GB kernel, so just boot into recovery if you choose that route.

Only bricks I've seen are from using Rom Manager and the temp CWM Touch. Kernel Repacks are fine for going back and forth between GB and ICS.

HOW are we taking risks? It's been clearly stated in several threads that the problem lies with RomManager and temp recoveries.. not with repacks.

I am stock and rooted. I woke up this morning with a CONGRATULATIONS!!! message saying there is an OTA for me... I tried to update and it wouldnt let me cuz im rooted...
I looked into it and found I could use mobile odin to unroot...
I have the app (mobile odin) I do not have the tar file. Is there a link handy?

You can get all the FW and itas here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1949687
Just to clarify, Mobile Odin won't unroot you, but it will reinject root during flash so you stay rooted.
Also you can get the ota if rooted but if you don't have stock recovery, modem and everything else it'll fail.
Using Mobile Odin and the fw in my thread will work. Just make sure the Everroot options are selected to keep root.
Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper can temp unroot you so maybe that's what you were thinking of?

Well if your just trying to unroot, go into your root program and have it uninstall itself. SuperSU and SUperuser both support the ability for them to fully uninstall themselves.
Will just need to install root via recovery again once your updated.... Pretty easy

Mobile Odin should support internal sd.... I guess you have the free version from his thread here? I didn't realize it didn't support internal...sorry bout that.
In that case just plug into the computer and use pc odin. You can use regular fw or MrRobinsons root66 fw which is pre-rooted. You can find his thread in development.

I am only focusing on your phone. IF your rooted, then you will have an app in your app drawer called either superuser or supersu (That is your root ) Open that and click full uninstall, then your unrooted.
When your done with the update, you can use Odin (Windows Version) to flash a custom recovery and then install the supersu.zip file located in chainsfire's thread.
I have superuser. I cannot find an option within the app to do a uninstall.

You will lose root though unless you use voodoo rootkeeper or mobile odin pro.

You probably have a custom recovery causing it to fail.
Regardless of how you update you will possibly lose some settings. Its recommended, but not required to do a clean update anyway. But flashing with odin should preserve your settings as well as the ota would. Once they boot up it shouldn't matter as the resulting build is the same.

Depends if you've done anything to your current build.
Cwm will flash it, but I just don't care for it. Caused probs for quite a few people.
But you have to be full stock. No mods, no deodexing, no bloat removal, no modems flashed, etc.
Then you should be able to flash it in cwm.
Its preferred you do it through stock recovery. You can use voodoo rootkeeper to preserve root.

(Sorry if I'm asking a repetitive question.)
Does the leak GB27 match the official GB27 that just came out?
I'm on FL24 stock + root. I don't want to use flash an unrooted FL24, download Kies, update to GB27, then root it.
Wondering if I can just use the One-Click method from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191954
so I can avoid doing all that work and still have the same result.
I'm only asking because I read that GB27 repartitions the storage (or something like that).
I did what you didn't want to do. Some people stated that they are the same but I don't know for sure. I'm having problems accessing the settings and I wanted root back so I just flashed the no data on top of all this. My settings is still messed up and crashes.

Make sure that you have a ICS modem, unfortunately on AOSP, the volume is low, and the AOSP keyboard does have gesture typing, but it doesn't come with the swipe keyboard

And if you bounce back between AOSP, CM, and Tw, make sure you change modems according to the dev's instructions. Data won't work on jb roms with ics modems, same as it won't work on aosp and cm with a jb modem.

Yea, the JB update has a jb modem (GB27), ICS modems (FI27, FL24....etc,etc,) don't worry, if you go to rwilco12's android repository, they have all the modems, and there categorised by type, ( GB,ICS and JB)
OK well went back to stock for a while...but same thing happening lol I can't win...every time I turn off WiFi no signal (3g)...and I'm guessing I have jb modem hence the gb27

I hate to say this, but if you don't know what CWM is, you are a noob. You need to spend some time reading before you touch anything else on your device.

brain fart it hit me right after i hit send. but i still need a suggestion on a kernel that will work. again i'm doing everything modin odin since i have no USB functionality.
i've never used CWM but i have read about it i have rooted every phone i have own, sticking mostly to stock roms for compatibility issues since i kept reading about this and that not working in this rom or that rom. but things have gotten so much better. i'm ready to explore. i'm running stock ICS and want to get some JB action on my SG2 epic touch. then again i may just upgrade to the SG4 and have the port fixed put it to stock and ebay it

I'm having same problem. Im using Mobile Odin. I've used every gb27 version on rwilco's site same results... No data. Went back to ics got data back. My usb port is bad so I can only use mobile Odin right now.
PS everything stock only root added. Just bounced from fl24 to gb28 and back

I think I mentioned this to you before. You can't use Mobile Odin to flash modems. It won't work. Are you on a stock jelly bean rom? Stock ics rom? If you are on fl24 rom, use fl24 modem. If you are on gb28 rom, you have to use jb modem. If your usb doesn't work, flash a custom recovery with mobile Odin, boot into recovery, and flash modems that way. Just ensure you have a stock kernel(or custom) of the same build you currently have on your phone in zip format saved to your phone before flashing custom recovery.
