I have an Evo on Boost now for 2 months rooted with no problems at all. I change roms all the time, update kernels, put themes and never any problems. Yesterday there was a post to update the pri to version 1.40.
I did it and it said something about resetting the phone. It shut down and ever since then I have no 3g at all. The only way I can surf the net or go to the market place is through my wireless internet in my home. I can send/receive texts/mms/phone calls but no internet.
Also, it constantly come up with an error 67 data call failed.
Thanks guys in advance
You could try updating profile under settings and system update.. let me know if this worked.. my 3g wasnt working went to sprint and did the update and is back on..

enter msl code
data profile
menu
restore
this will reset ALL data profile information on your phone. it will then reboot and reload all said information by re-provisioning your phone.
if you do not know your msl, call sprint tech support and ask nicely for it. they will usually give it to you. if not, hang up and call back. or just tell them you have no data and want to re-provision your phone and they will walk you through what i just did.
as a side note, sometimes this error pops up, for no good reason and goes away after a while. my guess is in your situation this isn't the case. you had a hiccup that's easily fixed.

Thank you for trying to help I really do appreciate it, but I don't have a sprint account I am on Boost Mobile and have been for 2 months now without any issues but this one
Could be a PRL problem? I don't know anything about getting an EVO on Boost, but I assume part of the process was downloading a PRL for Boost to connect to their towers?
Go back to the guide you followed and redo the steps.

this will still work on your phone. contact boost to get your msl. or use CDMA workshop. there is a thread in the dev section on using CDMA workshop.

What exactly will work on my phone?? and what should I do in CDMA Workshop? I have the program and I do know my MSL, so if you can explain what I should do to get back my data connection that would be great!
I tried to update the PRI and wiped my data profile for boost mobile and now without wifi on, I get error 67 data call failed
By the way, Thank you for trying to help, you guys are the best
No offense, but it really should not be that difficult if you set this up before!! I assume that you in fact did not set your EVO up on Boost, but gave it to someone else to set up, correct?
Simply refer to the original guide, or steps you took yourself to set the phone up on Boost in the first place - or give it back to the person that did it and let them fix it.

Hey Nukedukem,
No offense taken, however you might want to check your panties to see if you're getting your period. I thought this was a forum for people to help other people "do it themselves". If I, and everyone else did what you suggested, you'd be outside sitting on the curb with nothing to do. So if you have nothing nice to suggest, then I suggest you pass over my post and go "not help" someone else. Thanks
To everyone else: yes the guy that first did my phone is no longer to be found so if you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate them. Also, if a programmer can help I'm more than willing to donate.
Thanks again guys
The error 67 I think may be caused by the network rejecting your phones credentials, I had this same problem last night. The only way I could fix it was to restore a nandroid backup and then have it update my profile and PRL. You may be able to get away with just restoring the backup though, trying to update anything is most likely not a good idea since you are using a network other then what the software was written for.

Sorry you took offense, but you are in WAY over your head. If you want help from a developer, you need to SEARCH FIRST.
Since I'm such a nice guy, I searched for you...30 seconds later I learned how to port my EVO to Boost Mobile.

Oh, and uh...try not to choke on my menorrhagia.
That method did work MONTHS ago but not now that SPRINT changed up their website your not allowed to do esn swaps anymore. I was able to do it months ago with my touch pro2 and i have an EVO now and just tried to reprogram my phone cause i had the msl code and input my boost number and msid like i did before with the touch pro2. It reseted but when i went to make a call it said account cannot be validated so had to get sprint service again. Soon as someone comes out with a VALID way of getting the EVO working on boost Im going back to them.

did u fix the problem?
it's because you have a sprint 1.4 pri and need a modified boost pri...until that is changed, no 3g for you, but seriously, there is an app that gives you your MSL code
Hey, I have a few questions.
1) if someone were to use the roam hack what does it do exactly?
2) can you go on another network like Verizon?
3) is it a bad idea to do something like this?
I'm just curious, and would also like to try roaming on Verizon because I feel they'd give better speed where I live. Any help is much appreciated..

there is a roam hack that forces roaming instead of bouncing back and forth.
it is a new phone.apk file.
i THINK it is Calkulin who has it.
check his ROM thread in the development section and ask him for it.
his ROM has it built in i believe.
i will say this is fooked my phone and i had to restore from a NAND backup, but he fixed it and got it working. but it is still flakey somewhat last i tried it.
You don't get unlimited stuff when roaming, right?
The issue I'm having is having no sort of calling service on the Evo.
I rooted the phone, changed settings and even put a new rom on the phone. I'm using MikFroyo 4.5, by the way. I can get data, and from what I can tell it's 3G because I can use the browser, but when I try to call 611, and *228, I can't get anything. It just says that the network is busy.
I don't really know what I'm doing because I just started all of this today. Could someone give me some help? If all I need to do is search, just kindly give me some keywords and I"ll be on my way. Thank you very much!

sounds like you need an up to date prl as soon as i get one i'll post it... trying to flah my evo tonight to cricket too lol
Could that really be it? I feel like there might be something else I'm missing, but then again, I don't know anything about this kind of stuff!
Just an update, I've tried many different types of PRL files and it's still the same. I can't get anything. It just keeps saying the network is busy, try again later. I'm not sure what to do..
After lots of thinking and tinkering, I believe the problem is the PRL is not actually staying on after I write it on the phone. Can anyone explain why this is happening?
Is there a free way to get mms working on the epic yet?
BUMP. can someone shed some light one this please?
If its like metro, you should be able to ##Data## and input Cricket's MMSC url in and that should be part of what you need t do, though I do believe something else needs to be done, you may find a solution in the tut over Epic on Boost.
"Me saying I'm better than you would be an understatement"
I'm having issues when it comes to the ##DATA# manual programming. I completely flashed my SPH-L710 (Sprint) to MetroPCS with Talk, Text, Data & for the most part MMS working just fine. EVERY SINGLE TIME I do the ##DATA#, within less than 20 seconds my signal drops to nothing, then resets the signal. After I set up everything in the ##DATA# part I reset the phone its gone by the time my phones powered back on when I check the data profile by doing the ##DATA# part and just VIEW, not EDIT everything is gone from when I programmed my Data Profile, EVDO, Advanced, Others etc.
I'm attaching pics in order so you know what Im talking about. The first person to give me a solution I will "donate" $50 to them..
I believe you might have to use (PC) Qpst or CDMA workshop to get it to stick.

QPST, no matter what version, always freezes up at like 41% and says some error.. I know someone has come across this issue with the gs3.

I still have no clue to what's causing your issue, but i will at least help bump the thread back up to where somebody else may be able to help you out.
@dazednconfused I'm still using your ROM and do not wanna change. Still havin the "##DATA# Issues", now my other issue is that damn KitKat update it keeps askin me to do.
