Sorry for a probably answered question. Is the wireless tether going through my minutes or data...is it the same for non rooted phones as well
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda app-developers app
Data and yes. It uses the data to used for a WiFi essentially. Of that mashes any sense. Although this is one of those Google questions. Although, I do applaud you for posting in the right section.

Well thanks for the reply bud and no...google doesnt return an answer that i want. I am going to eventually stop asking questions on here if i keep getting told to search google. Its a forum for a reason, not a place for boys to act tough over the net

Not trying to act tough, but that is something that should be said. If you searched Google and found no answer you should state it to avoid people saying anything like that. Glad I could help.

Once you go Nexus,
you'll never go back-us.
No really though, welcome!! and start doing your reading so people dont jump on you for asking questions that are easy to figure out just by doing some reading, and the liberal use of the search function here and on Google
Today was also my first day with the GNex. It arrived from the Play Store and I am so ready to swap out my Evo 3D and Sprint's disappointing data speeds. I am waiting for my T-Mobile sim card to arrive (ordered it on Sunday). My contract ends at the end of the month. I was able to get it rooted this afternoon and I must say that was the easiest rootkit I've ever seen. Absolutely amazing the work you guys have done. I look forward to flashing ROMs on this thing and making it even more awesome.
Hello everyone, I just ordered a tmo GN2 and will be getting it by next week. Since I live in Canada, I'll need to unlock it.
Does anyone know any ways other than having to pay $30 for an unlock code?

How many different threads about this are you planning on posting? LOL
If you look over in the general section for this forum, there is a discussion about doing it for free that already exists, some are reporting good results with that, others not so good. Give a little search over there and you should find it without issues.

I want an app I can use to text off of my nexus 7 that uses the Bluetooth feature. I don't have WiFi so I can't use an app that uses a WiFi network sync and I don't wanna buy tablet talk. Any other apps like that?

Really you can't spend $1 on an awesome app I did , that you have to steal it .. support the dev also I'm pretty sure talking about or anything related to pirating is against xda rules ..

No. Go away if you want to rip off awesome devs. This is what hurts android.
Seriously, it is a great app that is worth 10x the price. Stop being cheap and buy the damn thing.

I can't "buy the damn thing" I'm 17 and have no way of getting money on the play store.

Agreed, I bought it the moment I tried it out and never looked back. Totally worth it.
Go buy a visa gift card or open a PayPal through your bank account. You're 17 so get out of the habit of excuses quickly.
Good luck

Actually their anti piracy replies were quite on point. How would you feel if you were the developer of the app and everybody just stole it from you instead of paying for your hard work? Bottom line piracy is WRONG.
Back on topic, does anybody know of a free Bluetooth alternative to tablet talk?

the rules aren't the problem....first the suggestion to actually go pirate an app (WTF are you thinking even saying that on xda)
then the arguing about "can't afford to pay" "visa card" etc etc....it applies to everyone at the end of the day not just people arguing the right point...but also the person suggesting that idea out loud over the forum

Peeps want to put their 2 feet in, the OP has the answer now job done, every bodies circumstances are different, mentioning how easy it is to get a gift card, top up credit card or whatever is relevant only to the person that suggests it.
Some countries don't accept payment, some won't allow you to buy, and for the record....I pay my way, but if I never had any money and need something, I'll blatantly take it. Don't have a problem mentioning that, but apps are 2 a penny, if there is a free alternative get one with ads.

I thought so too. I guess not
Yes, I was referring to the fact that the phone did not have to be connected via WiFi for it to work.
If I read correct there are 2 root files and a reference to Mac users. Is this true and if so has anyone had success rooting from a Mac. I have the at&t e980
Thanks for the help and if this has be asked before I do apologize.

I also started a thread about this.
No one answered or helped there either.
IKR!! bet if I posted in the wrong place 20 people would have jumped all over it within 5 minutes lol. Its whatever I think I'm going sale it off and get a one or s4, the lack of support doesn't bother me but the absolute lack of interest in what is possibly the best phone out now is just crazy. This thing died faster than the bionic.

Cannot understand where the development interest is here, and, as this type of thread will easily attract trolls, coupled with the fact that there are already plenty of off topic threads - I will step in, be the buzzkill here, and shut this down before it spirals out of control.
