[Q] Is this replacement screen compatible? - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm planning on replacing the LCD so am looking for a cheap screen online. I found this one on EBay. It's for the HTC Mozart but I think it shares the same screen as our Desire Z. Anyone can confirm this will work?

Take what a replacement screen costs and subtract it from what a good used one goes for.

Cdma or GMS?
From a Galaxy far far away
65% of what a new one cost minus near the cost of getting the screen fixed

Used perfect ones go for like $300 or so. The screen and digitizer are one piece that costs around $200 so.. there you go.

Yeah... its not worth a whole lot. The only thing one with a broken screen is worth is other parts that someone is in need of for replacement on their own device. No one's gonna buy it to replace the screen unless they're getting super cheap parts.
Thanks guys this is helpful I'll be putting it on Craigslist pretty soon

screen replacement?

I dropped my phone and shattered the screen. Everything still works fine, but obviously the cracks are obnoxious.
It is my understanding that you really have to replace the AMOLED/Digitizer/Glass at once since it is nearly impossible to separate the glass from the assembly without destroying it.
So my question to those of you who have replaced yours, where is the best place to get the screen assembly? What is a fair price?
I was going to file a claim against the insurance until I saw that the deductible was $130. Used phones can often be had at that price or less, so I think I need to ditch the insurance.
Any advice is appreciated.
another question...
is the screen assembly from the T959V interchangeable with the screen assembly from the Vibrant?
The screen assembly is going to be around $100-115, might as well get a new one through the deductible.

I have been looking, but the only response I got to one was some bs about buying from some obscure auction site. Seems to be a shortage of used Vibrants here in OKC.

Has anyone had any success with onex screen repair?

I dropped my onex and managed to break the screen. I replaced it with a galaxy note 2 but I still love the onex and would like to salvage it for use with my second line.
Has anyone had any success with having the the onex screen repaired?

I dropped mine too and replaced the screen myself. If you have a little experience you won't find it difficult. Btw you can watch many how to videos on YouTube and find fairly cheap genuine replacements on eBay.

I never did it myself, there are several guides on YouTube but I think the most crucial step is ordering the right part ie screen+digitizer already put together and not one of those parts seperately.
most likely only your digitizer is broken, not the screen itself but it is rely hard to place a new digitizer yourself, a big chance of misalignment or capturing air or dust
I have ordered mine from ebay screen+digitizer together, i tryed first to detach the digitizer but i broke the lcd its almost imposible to do so...believe me im quite skillfull with electronics.
Replaced two broken touches + lcds in my service. No problems, but this is my work
I replaced the screened on my atrix with a so called genuine one from eBay but it scratched right up in a few days so I'm guessing it wasn't quite as genuine gorilla glass as the original.

[Q] Broken Screen- Cheap replacement?

Hey guys my one x took a tumble and the screen is cracked all over. I called htc usa and they said it'll cost 200 dollars to fix. I do not have that kind of money but it breaks my heart to see that beautiful screen cracked. Have you guys managed to get it replaced for cheaper anywhere in the USA?
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/s/ref=i...acement+screen&sprefix=htc+one+x+replacement+
There is some screen replacement on amazon, you should try it out, but if only if you are sure you can install them correctly, diy kind of things.

You can probably contact your american comrades better here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1538
This forum is for international one x.

[Q] Digitizer replacement

Is it possible to replace only the digitizer?
I've broken only the digitizer but don't know about gluing and so...
Thanks
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I need to change the digitizer, too, but I found that you can't change only that. You need to change lcd+digitizer assembly, because it's impossible to split them because of the hard glue. You might brake the lcd. Also, if you do split them, then you'll have to clean the remained glue. If you do clean that, then you need to apply some sort of glue uniform between the parts, without bubbles. That's what I found.
Now I have a problem with yellow flex cable and green flex cable for the lcd
What problem?

That's what I found on the internet If you search, even on ebay there are screens with yellow flex cable and screens with green flex cable. I still don't know the difference and what's appropiate for me.
Nice, canceles my order... Let's seee if anyone can help us or if i can find anything

I found something here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33862387, but it didn't helped me. Maybe you got more luck or someone already knows what to do.
Sorry for double posting, but I found something.

With that, I found that my panel_id is 0x944701. After searching for that on google, I found that some users have that panel_id after their screen was replaced in HTC Service. But it's an unknown brand. So my display might have been changed before...but I still can't find if I can buy one from ebay. This one for example: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LCD-Displ...X-/251199108419?ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123
Maybe you can dig more. I'll do more research tomorrow. I'm tired now!
There's a company on eBay that sells used att screens. I got one that had a "scratch" bout 1/2 inch and it looks like a smudge... Most people can't even see it it's that in noticable.. they have a b and c stock as well as the one I got.. name is repair bowl. And they buy your busted screen
