I'm not sure if this is a problem with Wondows 8 or a problem with Jelly Bean but...
I have a windows 8 tablet (Samsung ATIV 700T) and I can connect a bluetooth mouse to it no problems.
I can search and find my note 2 from the tablet and when I click to connect the same confirmation number comes up on both the tablet and the phone.
But the connection just stays as paired and doesn't go to connected? Any ideas why they won't connect? My S2 that was on 4.1 also couldn't connect. The wireless mouse works no worries with the tablet. the mouse also connects with my note 2 as well. But for some reason the tablet and phone see each other and can but only pair and not connect.
Any ideas??? Google doesn't seem to filter enough for me to find anything directly related unfortunately.
I'm hoping to bluetooth tether my internet from my Note 2 to the windows 8 tablet.
Tethering with wifi works well but it sucks more power than if I did it through bluetooth. Any I assume bluetooth wouldn't bottleneck the data speeds too much anyway.

Hi, I am wondering if it were possible for somebody on here to write an app or pc program that turns my phone into a bluetooth dongle via usb? Because I have a bluetooth headset that I want to use on my pc but I can't use it because I don't have a bluetooth dongle. Now instead of going out and buying a bluetooth dongle, I figured since I have an android phone that it would somehow be possible to use my phone as a bluetooth adapter/dongle that my pc can use? I'm using windows 7 amd 64-bit, and a sprint galaxy nexus. (please move to appropriate forum, idk how i got in the galaxy note ii forum i thought i was in sprint galaxy nexus forum)

never seen such a thing. would be cool. i recommend just going and buying a dongle. they are super super cheap anyway. so very little harm will be done with that money.
I don't know if it can and never seen a project like this, but I think you better off buying the USB-Bluetooth adapter. It's extremely cheap now a day. And you gotta ask yourself, is it very worth it to wait? Even if it exist, it wouldn't be as capable as the real one, and then you have to worry about some other stuff what happen when the phone ring, does the phone have the head set or the PC? Seriously, go buy the adapter unless you want to scratch your own itch.
thanks for the feedback. I got a bluetooth adapter recently but it says my headset has no device drivers to install so it doesn't work for me :/ Idk how to make it work
ah, i had that on win7. doesn't come with a2dp drivers. you need your own (laptops tend to come with the manufacturers own) like blue soleil or some such

Hey man. So, actually making your phone into a bluetooth dongle is a lil' bit nasty due to permission issues. BUT, there is another way. As you are willing to use this "measure" to stream your PC's audio to your bluetooth headset, you can download an audio streaming app from the appstore (such as SoundWire for Android), set up the connection between your PC and your smartphone, and THEN you share your phone's media through the phone's bluetooth service to the headset. Maybe there can be a loss of syncronization for games and videos, but music will be just fine! Hope it helps

Hmm. Well, things like USB WiFi dongles and USB bluetooth dongles do exist, so USB had nothing against wifi or bluetooth. And those dongles work just fine even when connected through a USB hub. And as you say, your device has both WiFi and bluetooth. So, the simplest possible solution would be to have the PC view the phone as a USB hub, and the phones WiFi and bluetooth can be shown as USB dongles connected through this "hub". Infact, with that option, it should be possible to share lots of things between the PC and phone. You could share NFC, or even a fingerprint scanner, if you have them. Internet is obvious, because we already have USB tethering for that. I believe we also have apps that let us use the smart phone camera as a webcam? That too can be covered in this. Heck, even a GPS for the PC. (Or laptop?) Anyway, I am not much for coding and such, so if someone finds a way to implement it, please let me know? (If this becomes an app, then send me a free link, perhaps?)
I seem to have a problem connecting my new 10.5" tab s to my Verizon note 3 via bluetooth. It shows that they are paired but when I click connect it acts like it will connect for about 3 seconds (it says connecting...) then just goes back to saying paired. The dude at the Samsung display in Best Buy claimed these 2 devices simply cannot connect through bluetooth which didn't seem right. Tonights?
What I've tried so far: obviously restarting both devices and completely unpairing them as well to no avail...

It isn't right. I have a Note 3 also but with Sprint. I don't have any problem connecting. I would assume it is not the carrier that is causing the problem. It is well known that the Samsung reps at BB know absolutely nothing about their products. I also assume you tried shutting BT off on both devices then re-activating them? Is NFC on on your note? If it is try shutting that off as the slate is not NFC capable and it may be interfering. Just some suggestions.
I have a Note 3 as well from sprint and haven't had an issue connecting via bluetooth. I'll take a look around to see if anyone else is having this issue. Hopefully you'll be able to resolve it.
I did a factory wipe on my phone thinking that may help but was unsuccessful. Those of you who are able to connect your phone and tab, can you use the Internet connection from the phone using bt on the tab?
Update number 2...I factory wiped the tablet too and still no luck. It automatically wants to connect for Internet access and if I have the tab connectrd to WiFi it says it can't connect to bluetooth for tethering if WiFi is connected. Turning off WiFi does nothing...
I have the ATT Note 3 and am able to connect to my Tab S with Bluetooth. On both devices it only says paired. The only time it said connecting is when I initially paired the two devices, once paired the "connecting" was replaced by "paired". I can't find anywhere it says connected yet I am able to send files back and forth between the two via Bluetooth. I don't use Bluetooth to tether so not sure if that is where it's supposed to say connected. Sorry if we're talking about two different things, just trying to help.

Well I feel stupid now haha. I can't connect to use Bluetooth for an Internet connection as I was attempting, but I can send and receive files to and from the tab and phone.
For some reason my device won't connect to my pixel or any other phone. It will connect to my speakers, keyboard, mouse, and pretty much everything expect phones. It tries to connect but then it just stops. Any one have any ideas? I just want to be able to Bluetooth tether it.
Hi, im working setting up my nexus tablet for car duty. i'm trying to connect my phone to the tablet via bluetooth to use as trigger for "automate" to start wifi tether. Phone pairs no problem and it works via "tablet talk" app and syncs there, no problem. but in the bluetooth menu when i press on the tablet it says connected for a split second then seems disconnected again. Automate does not register it as connected to the tablet via bt either. What am i doing wrong?

Since I've updated my Note 20 Ultra to One UI 3.0 I have somewhat been able to connect to Samsung Dex wirelessly to my laptop (Dell Latitude E7450), however once it's connected, Dex desktop loads but I can't use the mouse (connected to laptop) or trackpad from the laptop.
Any ideas?
Yes had the same issue myself, I use a Wireless Keyboard and Mouse, when Dex connects wirelessly the Mouse and Keyboard will not work inside of Dex.
This has been an issue for some time. No resolution other than plugging your Wireless reciver into the Phone

I see this is old, but wanted to respond. It's super easy, you just have to realize the phone(DEX) becomes the computer, so any keyboard or wireless mouse needs to connect to the phone now. I use LOGI MX Keys keyboard that connects to phone, and a bluetooth mouse to phone, and both work great to run DEX.

Actually since the last firmware update that I had gotten on my Note 20 Ultra, my laptops keyboard and connected mouse are working fine with Samsung Dex wirelessly.
