Any ROM I use, data roaming does not connect. I went back to completely stock ROM and it works fine. Yes I have data roaming enabled on each ROM. Any ideas?
Assuming your going from stock 4.0/4.1 to a newer 4.2 image, did you flash all of the most recent radio images when flashing the rom? I noticed a drop in the reliability of my signal when I went to 4.2 until the latest Toro+ radios got posted a few days back, now everything is back to normal. Also, did you update your PRL? Not sure if it would make a huge difference, but I always make a habit of updating the PRL & Profile whenever I flash a newer android version or when a new rom seems to be causing roaming signal issues - seems to help most of the time.

I've had this issue on every single radio that came out. I'm on the latest GH. PRL is up to date.
No one has this same issue?
I went out of town and lost phone and mms . I still had internet access. Keep turning off and on and turning data a
Off and on. It did pick up service eventually. Is this a radio issue?

So, here's my situation:
I'm running a CDMA Gnex with Apex v.1.0.1 as my rom. I flashed a new radio, [Radio Hybrid] VZW EK5 CDMA(4.0.2) / EK4 LTE(4.0.3), in the hopes I could improve the hand off between 3G and 4G... Nope! The phone will no longer, no matter what I do, connect to the 3G network
OK... I figure, no big deal. I'll just flash a different radio set. Next up were the Leaked 4.0.3 Radios. Same thing. NO 3G at all!
Now I'm getting worried. I flash the stock 4.0.2 radios... Still cannot force it to use the CDMA network. I either have 4G data service or none at all...
What am I doing wrong? I've re-booted each radio set a couple times before dumping them for a different set. I've restored the nandroid back up from before I started messing with the radios. No fix there either. I've removed the sim card and reinstalled it (knowing full well it only controls 4G). Nothing doing...
I've seen similar posts about 3G/4G connectivity issues, but mine is strange because it's just the 3G radio that doesn't work. Voice calls and 4G data work fine.
Bigxie's rom has been rock solid, and since all the radios I've used presented the same issue, I'd be hard pressed to say it was one of them. I'm a noob, so I'm thinking user error somewhere along the line. Any help would be appreciated.
Update:
This was a CDMA network issue, not an issue with the Radios or Rom!!!
I magically picked up 3G this morning while at work. Since I was still running the leaked 4.0.3 radios and the Apex Rom, I realized that this was a network problem, not a software problem. I confirmed this with Verizon just now. They brought down the node closest to my place for emergency repair last night. The CDMA radio came back up as soon as it hit a tower that let it authenticate... It was just a coincidence that it occurred right when I flashed my first radio set, and frankly I feel dumb that I didn't see network error as a possibility sooner.
Try going all the way back to stock with stock radios and see if that fixes it?

flash the bootloader before the radio, reboot after flashing the
bootloader then flash radio, reboot, then flash stock.
I just got a Note 2 SPH-L900 (Sprint) it has a bad ESN for sprint but my intention was to flash it to cricket. I had noticed the same thing before the flash over to Cricket (I was messing with it over wifi etc and I did flash cm10.2 nightly just for the heck of it, then back to stock) but I could not verify service since I am not a Sprint customer. However the issue seems to not be carrier-specific.
When I flash custom ROMs I do not have service. No call, no data, nothing but wifi. The signal bar is empty and I get a big "?" Where the carrier is supposed to be. Also under "status" there is many blank spaces, no phone number, no carrier etc. Upon factory restore (which was done 2 or 3 times to ensure a bad ROM flash was not the culprit) the service icons and settings come back as before and everything works well.
I have tried two separate ROMs that give me the same issue: cyanogenmod 10.2 nightly
Rootbox jelly bean
Anyone know what may be wrong? I do not think this has to do anything with the flash over to cricket, since before it was doing the same thing. Any setting/procedure that I may be missing?
Edit: I did not do anything with kernels. My stock ROM android version is the 4.1.2

Well, i got it working now!!! i did reflash the modem to the latest MC2 version, then installed a custom kernel, Sleshepics the governor 1.7.
Then i reflashed the CM10.2 nightly and i magically have signal and data working.
SO EXCITED!
trying to flash my galaxy note ii sph-l900.. need help
i went to a couple of places and they said it couldnt be done.. it has low signal ... it only works on certain areas..
need help
Well it all depends on your signal. I live in Austin TX and cricket has great service here, with some dead spots out in the country (no big deal). 3g speeds are as fast as Sprint's 4g LTE.
The problem I was having had to do when I was flashing custom ROMs I was lising service.
I updated the modem drivers. It did the trick. I havent list service since and ive flashed like 6 ROMs so far.

Yeah.... So I updated my ROM to the newest carbonROM nightly.... Suddenly I couldn't pick up lte, only 3g. So... I reverted to a previous backup. Didn't fix it. So... I flashed to a touchwiz based ROM, updated prl and profile. It said I had 4g but I'm pretty sure touchwiz just lies and says it has 4g. So I flashed back to the version of carbonrom I had been using previously without issue, still only 3g. Flashed mk3 modem, booted back up, no connection at all. Flashed back to md4. Still no connection. So I restored to a backup of vanir ROM. No dice. Still no connection at all. Flashed back to touchwiz, no connection. So I updated profile and prl. Nothing. Flashed mk3, nothing. Used the code to factory reset and reprovision the phone. Got data back. Again, touchwiz lies about 4g. So I restored my phone to an old carbonrom that I had had no issues with, and I'm only getting 3g. Seriously, what happened and how do I fix it?

I decided to give Kit Kat another try a few days ago, but since then I have not been able to connect to LTE.
Prior to flashing I was running CM10.2 and my LTE was working fine. I initially lost LTE when I flashed PACMAN. I have also tried AOSB/ProBAM and Beanstalk. None of the Kit Kat roms gave me LTE so I gave up and restored CM10.2, but afterward I was still not getting any LTE connection.
I tried flashing the MD4 modem, but that didn't seem to fix anything. I've also heard that going back to stock could help, but I'd rather not have Knox if I don't have to use it. Which stock ROM here on XDA would be the best (Not planning on using the ROM. I just want LTE and then will flash back to Kit Kat)? Would a different modem fix my LTE issues? Is MK3 better than MD4, or are there any newer modems I should try?
Thanks for the help!

Any of the ROMS that have [TW] in the title should work. Full Knox only comes with flashing a tar file in ODIN, because your flashing every partition of the phone. Modified stock ROM zips do not have knox, unless otherwise noted. Make sure to do a prl and profile update when you flash to stock.

Flashed Wicked Sensations last night with the MK3 modem and I seemed to be getting LTE as soon as that booted. Updated my PRL and Profile, and then wiped. Installed AOSB again, and I seemed to be getting LTE until I rebooted. After the first reboot I seem to be stuck in 3G again.
Im currently running AOSB on 2 devices. When I first flashed them, I had the same issue until I rebooted the phone. After that I never had this issue again.

I think that's the opposite of what happened to me. My status bar said I had LTE when I first booted AOSB (this was after flashing/wiping TW). After the first reboot it connected to 3G and I haven't seen the LTE signal since.
I have updated the APNs, but I was using the same APNs for a while and had LTE on CM10.2 with them.

This is something wierd with Kitkat. I do not believe a fix has been found just yet. but if you dial *#*#info#*#* on most phones you can get into the phone systems and turn LTE back on.

There are some other options in there for networks (e.g. TD-SCDMA, CDMA auto). Would any of them help picking up Sprint LTE?
Other options include:

Turn on IMS registration required

Turn on lte ram dump

KitKat roms are currently having data issues. You could try backing up your current KK rom and go back to Stock, update prl and backup your DNS settings then go back to your backed up KK rom and restore from the dns settings you backed up.
How does one downgrade from kitkat to jellybean? I tried to just flash a jellybean ROM with a clean install and got an error?

ohhh i had this issue but i figured it out for pacman and most roms just download nova launcher and when you do create a shortcut on nova ad click on setting an it should say apn once there u open it and youll see where it says ehprd something like that click on it and go all the way to the bottom and change where it says bearer to ehrpd and lte should work ^_^
Ok so I finally got it working, although I'm not sure what was wrong with everything in the first place. My buddy said Cyanogenmod screwed up a recent ROM, so maybe that code was in one of the ROMs I was using.
Each time I flashed back to TouchWiz (I ended up using Wicked Sensations) I could get 4G/LTE. I ran a **72786*, did a PRL & profile update. Prior to finding a working ROM, when I went back to BeanStalk/PACMAN I would lose LTE. After I found the updated BeanStalk ROM I flashed and it still had LTE! Happy days!
At this point I was able to send MMS somehow, but phone was having problems being recognized by the network. I could connect to LTE but couldn't use the data. After I updated the APNs everything started working again.

This should work http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1794956
I've got the T-Mobile M919 S4 and I have a 4.4.4 ROM on it (Insane Hybrid).
I've got the latest NK2 Baseband and I also don't want to upgrade to Lollipop since I did before and it was lag lag lag lag lag after a week or so.
I've noticed recently that it is getting very poor reception.
My buddy's S3 will have two bars and mine will show no service. Or it'll have bars but no data service. Or I won't be able to call out.
There also seems to be an unusual amount of spots where I have no service.
When I do have service, the data can get really really slow.
My GPS lock also frequently gets lost during navigation.
Any ideas? Do I need to flash a kernal, modem, or radio or something? Which ones?

Try updating your baseband. That sometimes solves it. Here's the link:

Thanks, I'll give those a shot. I'm going to flash this and see what happens:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...stock-base-4-4-4-nk2-rooted-deodexed-t2990478
I'm still a bit confused on some of the terminology and what's bundled with what.
- The "modem" is the same as the "radio", right? It's a driver that controls how the device deals with cellular voice and data signals. I can find the version of my modem/radio by looking at the last letters in my "baseband."
- The modem/radio driver is usually bundled with a ROM, right? So the ROM that I flashed above will also update/replace my current modem/radio driver?
- Modem/radio drivers can be separate from the ROM itself. If I use a 4.4.4 rom that has NK2 bundled, I can still flash just a NH4 radio using ODIN onto the old ROM and be ok, right?
- Where does the kernal come in? I'm assuming the kernel is bundled with the ROM and the kernal is only in charge of the switching between cellular and WiFi data, right?
That's the price you pay with custom roms, sometimes your lucky and everything works the way it's supposed to sometimes it doesn't.
Run phone for a day and make sure everything works properly after flashing back to stock before attempting custom again.
If you need your device to function as a reliable phone, making and receiving calls and messages you may have to rely on stock roms.
