Sorry for the noob question. How do you find out what version of modem you have on the phone? What is the lastest version?

System Settings -> About device -> Read the "Baseband version" and it should say L900VPALJ1 because that is what the device shipped with
Now only if somebody can make an all in one that includes: firmware/baseband/modem that would be awesome!

Is there a way to go back to LJ 1? LJC isn't performing well on 4G. Its struggles to hold a signal while LJ 1 was holding a signal all day yesterday and this morning.

Like what Freeza did for the S3....Full Firmware All-In-One (Baseband/modem&tz,rpm,sbl2,sbl3,aboot) Flashable with any recovery.
It will automatically update everything without going back to stock etc. That way all we wait for is the updated rom with the new baseband/firmware based

Can you do the all in one update minus the checks
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
I'll see about pulling the full modem image for both and making flashables. As for removing the checks on the ota, that might cause issues. You would probably be better off flashing joshbeach's stock LJC rom and then doing the modem update

G●Note~2 {Jedi X5}
Can we flash all of the AT&T ROMS on our T mobile Note2? If we flash AT&T Roms on our device do we need to do anything special, flash separate Kernel or modem? Will my build prop need to be changed back to t889 or anything like that? AT&T development has a lot more than we do. Would be awesome if we can use the ROMS from those forums it would be awesome.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
You'd have to make sure that the ROM has no modem included (mostly an issue for Odin images) or separate it if so. (Extract system.img from tar, repack, ideally with Cygwin.)
Your build.prop, being on the /system partition would need some work to get it back to T889 values.

all of that just went over my head
Then you might not want to flash AT&T ROMs. Understanding is very important when dabbling in flashing, especially off carrier builds.
Learn more, read up, then flash with confidence that what you are doing is safe.

I'm using madmack's 12-13 build of CM10. It's working perfectly for me... everything works. It's very stable. His ROM is in the "original" development section of the AT&T Note 2 forums. Just flash it along with JB gapps. He has also started working on CM10.1, but not everything is working.
EDIT: I have not tried mounting to my PC yet.

Allright guys I have rooted every android phone I have had. I have never felt as lost as I do right now. I was following a thread that was a stock rooted Samsung ROM based off LJC which I installed when I rooted. Suddenly that thread is MIA. I now see tons of posts about Ma5 and LK8 but almost no ROMs built off LJC.
First questions wth is Ma5?
Second If I originally did a stock update to LJC do I really need whatever is in Ma5?
Third from what I understand there has been no official release of the LK8 software update correct?
Finally why would I want to update to LK8/Ma5?
Thanks so much,
Adan
Re: Ok confused... LK8 vs. MAC?
Not sure where you saw mac but MA5 is the most recent leak released by sextape and garwynn has posted one clicks. I've updated each time a release is posted and have been happy with the improvements over the previous. The most recent and most important update to MA5 was the exynos abuse exploit fix. There are several ROM's in the dev thread based off of LJC.
Hope this helped a bit.

Re: Ok confused... LK8 vs. MAC?
LK8 and MA5 are leaked buids of android 4.1.2 by Samsung. LCJ is the latest official build released by Samsung and Sprint. LCJ is android version 4.1.1. Its up to you if you want to give this leaked builds a try. They include new features but may have small bugs. Personally I flashed MA5 and its workings great for me, better than LK8.

Thanks guys i wanted to make sure i wasnt missing a update. I had a bad run in with leaked software awhile back and havent really wanted to try any since. You are saying the Ma5 leak is better is there any big differences worth jumping on?
Thanks again,
Adan
I'm just a flash junkie who likes to be up to date and like the fact that this leak fixes the exploit I mentioned. Try for yourself and see. Garwynn has posted several optional oc's and you can always revert back to sammy's official ljc.

In twrp, I cleared system, flashed modem. Cleared cache and dalvik, flashed ma5 rom, cache again, flashed modem again, caches again, reboot.
No data or app loss.
Everyone says do a full wipe but I came from stock deodexed ljc... no point to full wipe plus I had a nandroid... :/
Worked fine.
Pretty sure you can flash the modem no problem... just clear cache and dalvik after.

MA5 with the Perseus alpha32 kernel is rock-solid and FAST. I get consistent 7000-7200 scores with Quadrant, and Google Wallet works flawlessly on this firmware/modem/ROM release. Now, if Sprint would just deliver the LTE tower I have on backorder...

I was on ma7 all-in-one firmware, stock odex rooted debloated ma7 rom, and twrp 2.5.0.0

Due to the all of the confusion the last time I will not be publicly posting the Odex / De-Odex ROMs for the MC2 update. They would not include the correct kernel anyway. This is because, once the update.zip is applied and you have stock unrooted MC2, in order to gain root you have to install the latest insecure boot.img which just happens to be MA7 and NOT MC2. Once I extract or find the full MC2 kernel I will release them publicly.

By using the latest insecure boot(MA7), what would we lose?
Thanks for everything!
So this is safe to flash, if rooted and on Stock MA7, and not loose root, or use Root Keeper prior then take, or flash OTA and re apply root keeper again ??

Your sboot.bin is named Sboot.bin in the zip and the script is calling for sboot.bin. should be able to change the Sboot.bin to sboot.bin and get it working.

Yep just flash no issues so far
SGNote2
I am currently running Whom ROM, and I have a bit of confusion regarding modems.
I've seen it mentioned everywhere that you must flash a stock ROM, then flash the modem. However, after already doing a clean flash into this ROM, which runs MA7, I have no problems just using Mobile ODIN to flash LK8 Modem and the LK8 All-In-One. I am now running LK8 on this ROM with no issues.
Why would I even consider booting into a stock ROM before I flash a new Modem? I've done this same thing when I tried MA2 as well with no issues. About Phone even showed correct Modem, so it is all flashed through Mobile Odin correctly.
I have no errors whatsoevever. ROM runs smooth as butter.
I just don't see why I have to go to a stock ROM...perhaps someone can explain.
You dont need to go to stock rom to flash an updated modem just flash the all in one that are floating around and enjoy..... and as far as I know the moden doesn't really matter as jellybomb is bssed off lk8 and im on ma7..... running great and no issues!!!!!
