Hello.
This is my first post in the htc one x section.
I got my brothers htc one x. This phone has a very strange problem. When I start the phone it turns on. It passes the splash screen, but when I want to unlock it, I can only move the circle left our right, not up, so I can't unlock it. I am able to enter the hboot. I already did a factory test, but that didn't help. Do you guys (or girls) have any suggestions how to fix this?
Thanks in advance.

Yesterday my Desire HD wasn't stay off properly.
If i shutdown my phone, my phone will power on in a few seconds..
I've tried to pull out the battery all night and today the problem seems to disappear ...
Do i need to take my phone into warranty? Anybody else have this problem before?
Thanks for the answer!

It is a feature of clockworkmod recovery, that if your phone is off and you connect the charger, your phone will go to the recovery.

It's turning on without charger, this was my problem!
After few seconds, the phone will turn on by yourself and boot normally, not in recovery!
The only way to keep it off is to remove the battery...
Thanks for your answer anyway!

Okay, that's weird then. I would try to clean my SIM, battery and MicroSD contacts. Then you can also try the stock recovery. If those do not help, send your phone to HTC, that is definitely not normal behavior.
Does it turn on even if you pull the battery out for 5 minutes and put it back in?
And hey, try this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12517111&postcount=6
As jkoljo said, read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1014302
It has something to do with daylight saving.
The problem disappeared after a whole night without battery.
Now the phone will stay off correctly, without problem.
Thanks a lot for the answer, and sorry for my weird english ,

Hi, I have HTC desire. It doesnt boot anymore... All I get is 7 vibrates and thats it nothing on the screen etc. Now im not sure if it has been rooted in the past, will HTC be able to tell if it has?
Also has anyone else had this problem? Did HTC repair it or give a replacement?
Thanks
yes many has this issue whit there desire
it is a hardware problem
my thit the same an it is now sent in fore repare
i think that it is the cpu there is getting to hot therefore the reboot whit 5 to 7 vibrate
if the phone get totaly cold it can an will start up again
then htc can see if it has bien rooted
u can only removed the rooted if u load a officale htc RUU firmware
Thanks for the response I appreciate it.
I tried the freezer trick, though it didnt work. Theres no way for me to load any RUU on to it, hopefully HTC will not be able to power it on.
Its getting picked up tomorrow anyhow, hopefully they will just replace the phone.
Hi, I've just upgraded 2.2 to official 2.3 and on the first boot phone kept rebooting. I could see locker screen for 2 sec but then phone rebooted again and again the same. I managed to run the phone without sim and SD. It booted fine. Then I added SIM and SD and for now seems fine. Also, I was having reboots in app like Igo My way, and during video stream from youtube. I bet it will happen again. Any solutions to this problem?
Give me some advice
Please
I'd try to reflesh.
Maybe something went wrong... else there is something wrong within the rom itself.
I used that for a long time without any problem, but I have an old Desire (with the Amoled)... I don't know if it makes any difference, it shouldn't but...
I wanted to run RUU again, but when i hit first 'next' button in RUU it shows that usb debugging mode is on (I suppose it shouldn't be 'on' during the update). Then i check settings and there's no 'V' sign near the debugging mode so it looks like it is not 'on'. Does that matter during the update?
If I recall right you just need to plug in HTC Sync mode, so try to enable and disable debug mode.
Okay i will try
I disabled debugging mode just before hitting the last button in RUU and then an error 170 appeared saying that installation has been aborted due to failed usb connection.

I experienced the same thing after upgrading to 2.3. My problem was the main board. Sent the the phone to service and everything is fine now. No more random reboots.

Oh come on... ive bought an used desire and the original varranty has passed already... The one and only only thing I was worried about is the hardware issue...

An hardware fault that comes out only with the 2.3? Odd...
Everything except that works perfectly.. I don't really believe it's hardware fault. I'll run ruu again later and check. Anyway reboots do not happen while working but while having fun so I can cut down on playing.

Off topic but the desire warranty is 2 years. The very first ones are not quite out of warranty. All you need is the receipt.

I will seek for it thanks for the info.
Pity I haven't been given original HTC varranty card, only varranty from the seller. It doesn't allow me to service phone in HTC centre. Still, phone is usable so if anyone has any advice give me, although I won't run RUU again since i don't have time to personalize the phone again. Cheers.
I ran RUU again, there was no reboots at the first boot, so I'm enthusiastic about that in further use.
Keep an eye on it.
If it does reboot, make a mental note whether the device is hot or not.
You dont need a HTC warranty card. 2 Years warranty from Original sale, all that is required is the receipt.
Providing its not refurbished by the seller you bought from.
I haven't found any receipt in the box. Nothing similar to it.

Hello, I have a big problem with one htc x, the display does not work anymore except the illuminated keys! if I reboot it shows nothing, I hear the ringtone start, then after a while it displays normally, but during a very short time then goes blank Do you think that's the display that is worn or is it a bug after the JB updates ? I await your response thank you
are you on stock ROM or did you use a Custom ROM?
maybee, it will help, you do a fctory reset.

I have no warranty! was not representative htc here and I bought it used
Ai thats not so good, its definitely not a bug and it should not happen !!! And to be honest ... rooting and or go out and running custom roms will probably not help to remove the issue. Is it working oke when you enter the OS ? No graphic glitches or screen touch problems ?
The screen touch work normaly even when there's no display, and can call and receive calls Thank's
Well sorry .... but i can't give a solution to this i'm afraid
do you think the display should be changed or repaired?
Well can't say really , as long as its not getting worse and only happens when you boot the phone i would leave it like this, if you start having problems inside the running OS then you have a bigger problem.
Its a digitizer, display problem.... I don't think this is software related.
But even when you bought it second hand, you should have factory warranty for at least 2 years !
on my phone the motherboard was the problem...have a new phone after send in second times..first time they replaced the display...
screen was not working...after i pushed near the camera..it come sometimes up..but than screen was qwertzuzuiopüäüölkjhgf......
with kind regards
are u using stock launcher?
All things are stock
I've tried two lcd screen for one x , but it's the same probleme ! but when I press up the screen it work, and when I repress it goes black
Hello
i had a small problem. Yesterday i did a mistake and flash the splashscreen from my old M7. Now the screen is black and nothing happens. There are no reactions when i push the buttons no restart, no shutdown and no connection via ADB. Is there any chance to revive it. thx
If there's absolutely no way of booting it into download or recovery then you have a paperweight.

Thats not true Hardbricks can be fixed.
To op: Well the a10 or a11? partition where the m7 splash screen flashes to the phone is where the one m9 has its aboot. Does it connect to a computer?
no connection with adb or fastboot! Is there a chance to flash by HTC Corp. and its running again??
If you live in the usa you can have it repaired under the "uh oh" protection scheme. If you dont live in the usa you cannot have it repaired for free.

but its possible to repair it.
Shut down the phone wait for 2 mins then after try entering into hboot or recovery if you still facing the same then the only solution is Ubuntu there are many threads related to this and boot repair through software box . After reading your post i personally think that you are not doing it right i mean force shut down is the most important thing here ... best of luck
